  1. This depends, wife and I value the space over the location in the Haven. The forward facing has a great bedroom living area hige bathroom the only downside is the balcony is very small. You’re all the way forward so quick elevator ride and you’re in the haven complex. Our next cruise we are staying in an aft facing haven suite and can’t wait
  2. Last time we negotiated it to about $50 or $55 for about 35 or 40 minutes. But they will also give you a break if you rent multiple jets skis at one time
  3. Not to mention port of Miami hotels prices also depend on how many ships are in port the day. We are leaving on April 8th out of Miami and there are 8 ships in port that day. We also chose YVE because of location and price. We got the bay view room 2 double beds for $300 all in. But when we have left out of Miami say only 2 ships in was about $100 cheaper
  4. We drive from Charlotte NC to port Miami to cruise. We always drive in the day before even when we used to only have a 5 hour drive when we lived in Mississippi cruising out of New Orleans. Never know you could have car trouble or anything can happen. Plus, love waking up day of cruise right next to the port, opening the windows and seeing the ship after a great night sleep rested to start our vacation.
  5. I believe that is still allowed, also depending on ship some have a cigar lounge also. Pool deck smoking areas is fine too
  6. I agree, I have cruised many lines such as Princess, Carnival, RCCL, Norwegian and a fee from years ago that are no in service anymore. Our choice is NCL for many reasons mostly personal preference. Will I cruise another line? Yes if I have to, like when my September sailing on the Getaway was canceled due to a hurricane we sailed 2 days later on the Symphony of the seas had a great time but our preference is always NCL. I like to stick with what i know i enjoy
  7. First of all the boat drill for passengers on embarkation is for the passengers by law! Crew also must complete a crew only boat drill every 7 days, which also include any one of the emergency situations that may occur, coda Alpha, Oscar etc…that drill lasts anywhere from an hour to 2 hours depending on the simulation.
  8. Omg everyone is proving my point about not knowing anything about why passenger drills are conducted
  9. Reading all of these as Ex crew on cruise ships makes me laugh!!!!!!
  10. So we are on the Joy in April and was wondering if anyone can give me info on the pricing for the karts, laser tag and the VR arcade. I understand the VR arcade is sold for 90 minute session or for the week. Thanks for all the help
  11. I have cruise almost every line out there, I am almost 44 years old and still return to NCL most of the time because of 2 main reasons. One, the drink package is truly unlimited, Carnival ( not sure all the companies brands) limits to 15 per day (yes a lot for some but not for my wife an I on vacation)Two, Price, after you incorporate drink packages and specialty dining NCL in my opinion comes out less..I will say we have the Joy booked in for April in the Haven, but we are taking a shot at MSC yacht club simply because it is a few thousand cheaper.
  12. I agree, RCCL Drink package is insane! But the funny part is watching after day 2 people trying to buy it but you can only buy it on the ship during the first 2 days
  13. December was the lowest and the second was march
  14. I have won 2 haven bids before and never bid higher then the lowest possible fair bid
  15. I cruised RCCL Symohony of the seas last October because my NCL cruise got canceled 2 days before sailing. I got the drink package on RCCL and it was very high. With drink package RCCL was clearly higher priced! If no drink package RCCL was a little cheaper
  16. Well I too have worked on board cruise ships , 5 years been through all the training involved in all boat drills and life safety drills. I can speak from my experience and still only give opinions
  17. Ok quick question, is there anyone here that has been through SOLAS training? Anyone here work onboard a Cruise Ship or an ocean vessel with the same soles onboard? I understand everyone has opinions I’m just curious is there anyone with first hand experience
  18. So I have stayed in 9706 before. Was our first Have suite and honestly outside the balcony being very very small, we loved the space. Usually cheaper then most of the other Havens. We have stayed in this, 2 bedroom, as well as our upcoming April is in the Aft facing Haven on the joy. I prefer to stay in Havens with separate bedroom space becasue then your butler can just walk in when bringing coffee or breakfast in the moirning if you like.
  19. Absolutely agree, we have stayed inside the haven in a 2 bedroom just my wife and I and also have stayed in the forward facing haven suite. April we are staying in the aft facing haven suite and have no desire to try and upgrade, the balcony is absolutely worth staying where we are.
  20. We do YVE simply for location. Older style but can’t beat the location and usually cheaper.
  21. So, first question… yes 2 for each person 2nd question typically it’s one appetizer, soup or salad, main course, and desert. 3rd is yes 120 days out can start booking reservations. At 21 days you can complete check in and also book entertainment options
  22. Go down the elevator and puts you right across from the entrance to the terminal
