  1. @Rogueperson, how did you get to St Georges? I thought the ferry was not operating to there. We were thinking of taking the ferry to Hamilton and bus to St. Georges. In May, we had a great island tour, but it did not include St Georges.
  2. It's official! Link is here. @KATHYMAC68, great news for us, eh?
  3. Canada dropping requirements 1 October, even for cruise ship pax. Link is here. Unfortunately, that won't apply is your cruise is in September. Hope you are having a blast!
  4. Thanks for the speedy reply. But just enjoy your vacay! Your cruise to Canada/NE is b4 the regs possibly change. I checked in for the second leg already. Our first B2B!
  5. Thanks for your time and efforts! Jerry and I are sailing out of Baltimore 30 September for Bermuda, then B2B Canada/NE. Any mention of the COVID tests for Canada for B2B cruisers? Fingers crossed, regs will expire 30 September. DEspite being vaxed and double boosted, we got COVID on a Bermuda cruise in May, although we were not taking precautions on the ship. Does RCCL still have sanitizer and masks in the room? We are bringing N95 masks.
  6. Ooh, great news! I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, and don't want to run late getting back to the ship. About 45 minutes each way? Last time, we did not realize only certain HOHO buses return to the port area. We were on the "wrong" one, but the driver was kind enough to take us last, and of course, we tipped him. There was a bike race that we we stopped in traffic for a bit, so I was really stressed out about the time. I am sure that multiple visits would be required to experience the Cambridge area. They were kind enough to send me a map. We are quite interested in history and architecture.
  7. Thanks so much for the great info! I did remember from several years ago that one did not need a transfer is the system was not exited. Although an employee has us pay more on the Charlie card purchased through a machine than was needed, so we ended up with it left over, and it expired after two (?) years. A Google search revealed that (if info is current on their site), a 50 cent plus cash overage would give one a Charlie card with the extra. I am not sure if letting Jerry ride after I pay with a five would be considered a pass back, which is not allowed. Anyway, we can each pay and have a card for the ride back. One can use a credit card, but there may be a fee, so I am unsure about that. It is great that the cash system allows bills, as some trans systems allow only coins. I really wanted to go to the MFA, but the museums are closed on Tuesdays. Thanks again for your help. Excepting a cab driver who wouldn't give us the time of day, we found the locals extraordinarily friendly and helpful.
  8. When we were on the May sailing to Bermuda, reps were onboard to make sure you were approved, as the regs had changed the day before our sailing the test results did not have to be uploaded after our sailing. Mass confusion, but as long as one had submitted an application for the TA, boarding was permitted. Hardly reasonable that one should have to pay for internet access onboard to get these things. On our sailing, it was mainly older folks who did not want/need internet.
  9. Didn't take that long to do the basic info on ArriveCAN at home, plus I will not have internet on the ship to get email confirmation codes, upload fax cards, etc. As to filling the last bit on ship, since I am doing a B2B, I may have to do it in the port or maybe GS will let me have internet access to do it.
  10. Following. Going on B2B 30 September to Bermuda, then Canada/NE 6 October.
  11. Sorry about your family emergency and hope you have a great time!
  12. Lois, I was just going to start a thread with this link. Great minds think alike! 😀 Sailing 6 October to Canada/NE , second leg of B2B with Bermuda first. Will have to see what they do for cruise pax. Already did basic ArriveCAN. Would be ab fab not to have to worry about a COVID test at the end of the first leg. Testing is only required for cruise pax and I am sure the cruise lines would like that to go away.
  13. Mine is 6 October - I hope this applies to cruise pax. I already did ArriveCAN basic info, and got approved Bermuda TA yesterday, 10 days out.
  14. Sailing 6 October, second leg of B2B with Bermuda first. Will have to see what they do for cruise pax.
  15. Canada just announced vax requirements and ArriveCAN may be discontinued 30 September. No mention about cruise pax. Google it. Fingers crossed!
  16. Oh, that would be an fab! Where did you read that? I googled it and didn't see anything about cruise pax. And Jerry loves dragons!
  17. Jerry and I sailed to Bermuda this May. The sailing after ours, one did not have to upload negative COVID results to get the TA, but for our sailing, one did. We were with a group of older folks on a bus to the port, and I had to tell the travel agent (her business was closed permanently due to COVID and she was retiring) about the requirements. She had to do it for a few dozen people and have them bring their test results to her. I was one of the few that could do it myself. Well, the day before we left, I was at my wits end b/c I did not have the TA, and Bermuda decided as long as one applied and uploaded the results, they would let you board and you would get final approval on the ship. Reps from the Bermuda govt. were on the ship, so they had to be flown to Baltimore, as it left from there and Bermuda was the only port of call. I guess that's where our $40 went. Some of the pax waited in line for hours on the ship at a special meeting to find out they were already approved. Man, many angry pax! Some had phone bills in the hundreds trying to call the govt. prior to sailing. I applied 30 days out from the cruise and got the TA today, 10 days from sailing. The stress of the testing is worse than the cost. Jerry and I are doing our first B2B leaving Baltimore 30 September to Bermuda (just got TA today), then 6 October to Canada/NE. Major stress about the COVID testing the end of the first leg. Just my luck I picked the two destinations that require testing! Sailed in March this year, ship 65% capacity, and in May ship 75%+ capacity. Got COVID on the latter, but didn't test positive until home a few days.
  18. @Rogueperson, when is your B2B? Jerry and I are doing our first B2B leaving Baltimore 30 September to Bermuda (just got TA today), then 6 October to Canada/NE. Major stress about the COVID testing the end of the first leg. Just my luck I picked the two destinations that require testing! Sailed in March this year, ship 65% capacity, and in May ship 75%+ capacity. Got COVID on the latter, but didn't test positive until home a few days. Blessed cruises!
  19. We sail 30 September. Already applied at the30 days out mark, but have not received it yet. Second time this year, really is a big hassle.
  20. It is always very windy at sea. I have been to Canada/NE in early and late September, and it is really variable. Early September was cool, late September it was nearly 80 F! Bring a rain jacket;Jerry and I have packable ones from Eddie Bauer that are terrific.
  21. I just entered the passport info for us, but uploaded the vax card.
