  1. I am a fan of the My Holiday app, although I personally chose not to use it my husband does. So nice to join the virtual queue from the comfort of our room. If you have issues accessing or using the technology, there are My Holiday podiums with staff who can help you get set up. Last three times on Britannia there was a dining enquiry desk set up on embarkation day right at the enterance of The Limelight Club, to help with bookings. Plus Yes you can go to the venues and book, during the cruise.
  2. That’s a shame! Hope it’s cleared by now, we did a great tour in Belfast out to the Gaol and then around to see the “walls”. When we were there a couple of years ago. hope you have had a good day.
  3. I’ve been on Princess, MSC and P&O in the last 9 months from Southampton, most recently MSC last month. No restrictions on the sale of alcohol. Had wine with Lunch when embarking and cocktails on deck before Sailaway. This seems to be an NCL “issue”
  4. Years ago when I first learnt to sail, it was “there is no Red Port left in the bottle” to also remind about buoy markers.
  5. Others may not agree, but I would say don’t wear flip flops in port here. Many of our pavements and walkways are ancient and that means uneven. Flip flops would be uncomfortable. also men don’t wear fanny packs, or bum bags as we call them. Nothing says tourist more than that 😉
  6. No right or wrong to this. My husband would dress for the weather, it needs to be bright and no chance of a shower for him to wear shorts. My brother in law who lives in Cornwall wears shorts and flip flops regardless of the weather!
  7. It’s ridiculous isn’t it, and that would have been when P&O wasn’t offering cruises to the masses!
  8. Oh yes you are correct, let’s hope P&O haven’t snapped up the old used dispensers as a bulk deal!
  9. Yes, BLC holder must be travelling. What a great offer, I would have booked in a heartbeat if I had any holiday left to use.
  10. They are recategorising some of Ionas cabins, could that be it?
  11. Off topic from original post, but relevant to people stealing. In her inaugural year Britannia had a great gin menu in the Crows nest. The menu on each table was displayed in a nice Black G&T stand. 2 nights before the end of the cruise they weren’t there it was an A4 sheet, full menus on request but no stand. I asked the server about it, he said too many get taken by passengers as a free souvenir! I was so shocked that people would do that. Then at breakfast last year, one woman was eagerly telling all of us sat there, to keep an empty water bottle, and fill it up with the shower gel in your room to take home. I wonder how long the P&O contract with the White Company has to run? I have fond memories of the Temple spa amenities they used to supply, then they moved to Molton Brown, I’m expecting it to be the kind of dispensers you find in a Premier Inn before too long, just so people don’t steal it.
  12. The OP, asked if anyone had experienced anything similar on a Princess cruise, as they experienced on NCL. then went on to complain about the face they had paid (NCL) for an upgraded package and didn’t feel it was fair etc etc. I think they derailed their own thread. As far as I can see no one has confirmed anything about Princess policy in Livorno.
  13. How has your excursion to Stonehenge been? We have been expecting rain and thunderstorms today, so far they have missed our area of Wiltshire, I hope you have been as lucky.
  14. Princess usually offer dining room lunch service on Sea days, not port days. The exception being embarkation/turnaround day.
  15. ? I’m sorry I don’t understand your quote iof my post, or the relevance of your comment. How odd! Would you prefer I retype it, to include my peninsular number and room category? my statement remains factual, and relevant to the original post, I had to leave a note which was actioned during turndown service, having not had sanitary bags in the room.
  16. I had to ask the room steward on Britannia last September. Well, actually I left a note so he would see it during turndown service, so didn’t get a response, but did have them replenished as needed. i had assumed it was just an oversight, seems ridiculous that it’s ongoing. I wonder how many additional plumbing issues they are dealing with because of this?
  17. Sorry your wife has Covid, but really? Suspisious of what? It’s a well known fact that Covid is widely circulating in the world. Just as colds and other respiratory illnesses do. Chicken Pox is an entirely different illness, the only similarity is, it is also airborne.
  18. Have you looked on “cruise deck plans”? Hopi I’m allowed to say that, it has photos of the obstructions.
  19. Oh Yes, sorry David63 you are correct, I found this in the archives Dear Guest, Thank you for being a loyal member of the Princess Cruises Captain's Circle Club. Previously, Princess Cruises has recognised your sailings history from its sister brand, P&O Cruises. This meant guests were awarded with increased membership benefits, based on sailings from both P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises. As our brands continue to grow and evolve, so must our loyalty programmes. With this in mind Princess Cruises is ending the P&O Cruises’ sailings recognition effective from Tuesday 12 December 2017. Details regarding the update can be found below: 1. P&O Cruises bookings that are booked by (inclusive of) Tuesday 12 December 2017 will still count towards Princess Cruises' Captain's Circle Membership. 2. P&O Cruises bookings that are booked on or after Wednesday 13 December 2017 will not count towards Princess Cruises' Captain's Circle Membership. 3. Guests who have previously sailed with Princess Cruises will still have their completed P&O Cruises sailings count towards Princess Cruises’ Captain's Circle Membership and will not drop in loyalty tier due to the change on Tuesday 12 December 2017. For example, if you have sailed before onboard Princess Cruises as an ‘Elite’ Member, you will sail again onboard Princess Cruises as an ‘Elite’ Member. Please visit https://book.princess.com/captaincir...pBenefits.page to familiarise yourself with the details on member benefits. 4. If a guest has P&O Cruises sailings history but zero Princess Cruises sailings history, they will show as a new Princess Cruises guest against any bookings confirmed after Tuesday 12 December 2017. Yours faithfully, Princess Cruises
  20. I “think” you had to have registered for an account on Princess, not sailed, by a certain date. so that is maybe why/how Bogof1’s wife achieved Elite status using P&O loyalty and he did not.
  21. Well, MSC feels it makes sense, Princess Elite status matches to their top Diamond Level. However, one big difference if the MSC Voyage Club is, regardless of membership level, you must sail at least every 3 years to remain a member. I wonder how many captains circle members Princess would lose if they had the same rule.
  22. I see Sky has left dry deck, as planned, and is on her way to Southampton.
  23. I really like your attitude, but as you are a planner would be good to have a back up just in case. you can get a National Express Bus from Heathrow to Southampton usual journey time about 2 hours. you could go to Southampton and book a day trip to Stonehenge from there (subject to availability) it’s half the distance Southampton to Stonehenge, rather than Portland to Stonehenge.
  24. Only just see your post Ladyshopper, don’t forget “BLC” offer, that can be used with the £1 deposit.
  25. Someone will take the offer, when it is good enough to make them want to change their plans 😉 looking forward to following along, safe journey down.
