  1. The hike would be great- and not that strenuous as the definition of mountain is a bit lax in the Falklands. I would do it inan instant. My husband and I were there on Regent, andi think we probably did the equivalent of the battlefields tour. We liked it , but the hike would have been better
  2. Observation is definitely not in patient admission. I am a surgeon and do this all the time.
  3. I guess you could add your own if you just dumped it into the washer with the clothes then didn’t push the button on the attached detergent dispenser.
  4. Agree, this is the better strategy. As long as it is before final payment, you could change names—I actually have done this. I think booking the cabin as a single may be a problem. Let us know how it turns out.
  5. Agree with above poster that it is not Regent changing your flights. It is the airline. Portolan, are you going to be on our Tokyo to Tokyo cruise in late March?? We did our own air for that and getting there is a bi***. Crazy connections, but coming home is fine.
  6. PR is my husband’s favorite restaurant onboard. He always begs for more nights there. I am not so enthused, as I like less salt, but the watermelon duck salad is great.
  7. No,I was there . He was probably 18 months old, the age of my grandchildren currently. And they would not have been allowed to behave that badly.
  8. George thinks it is old cow, or perhaps not beef at all. At any rate, it is pooor quality. He says it is probably an inferior grade of beef rejected by good restaurants and grocery chains.
  9. So sorry to hear about your covid interruption. George caught covid at the end of our cruise in June, so we were home when he tested positive. I have thus far been lucky, thanks probably to an immune system that has been thoroughly challenged over the past 45 years being exposed to everything imaginable, plus being vaxed and boosted.
  10. The beef is really bad, particularly ground beef.
  11. Glad to hear actual cooking classes are back. Ours back in January was just an observation. Though I still learned a couple of things. corinth tour looks great. I believe the old Diamond used to actually go through the canal.
  12. I have sailed as a member of the mentioned TA group, along with mr levin, many times. Most people would never even realize a group is onboard. There is one cocktail party, but that is about it. We are definitely not obnoxious. incentive groups are a totally different thing, and you should avoid those like the plague
  13. really enjoying your reports. Your hike in Istanbul sounds like one George and I did a few years ago. We have been to Istanbul many times, and I have no issue using the taxis there--have done it a lot of times and didn't feel like I got scammed ever, but I decided to try the tram. We couldn't figure out how to get tickets, so we ended up walking, and walking, and walking, and pretty soon we had 20,000 steps. at any rate, it is good exercise and we ate well without guilt. Agree about spacing the tours at tender ports--duh!
  14. We have embarked in Istanbul a couple of times, but not at the new port. But I have been to the new port and it is very nice. There is an underground area where taxis can drop you off, and I suspect Regent will have handlers there to get your luggage straight away. The only place I have had to haul luggage around for a long distance was in Venice when we arrived by water taxi.
  15. I would be fine with that connection if traveling in F or business. Coach, not so much. We have gone through LHR with a terminal change and a 1 1/2 hr connection and made it, but that is cutting it pretty close. Worse case is that you miss your flight which coming home isn’t at least for me as big of a deal.
  16. Last cruise out of Miami in January was January 2022 on Regent. I wore some colorful printed capris, a sleeveless top, and had a light jacket which I didn’t need. Plus comfortable shoes. Coming back, again in Miami, it was quite cool, and I believe I wore jeans, a warmer top and same jacket which I did need.
  17. Your trip sounds wonderful so far. We have flown on Turkish Airlines and I thought it was great. Jealous re that Turkish bath!
  18. I didn’t feel unsafe in either BA or Santiago. We have been to both several times. Did our own transfers and hotels, walked all around with no issues. Felt safer there than in many places in Europe. Just stay in a nice area.
  19. We have never had any issues with medications in their original containers. And all the meds on your list are fine. I am a physician and travel with a mini-pharmacy as well. I wouldn't dump a whole bunch of pills into an unlabeled baggy or bottle--though they would probably not even notice it, but better safe than sorry. Just don't bring any meat or cheese. (and my rancher husband just denies having been anywhere near a ranch)
