  1. It’s all subjective even the definition of great. Just wait and see who is presenting is my opinion. One thing I never do is walk out mid way if it’s not too my taste. To me that’s plain rude. I have only been disappointed once as I have mentioned before. I don’t see any point speculating who they could be. I have only once had a repeat speaker and that was the delightful Maureen Ryan. Would love to hear either Chris Frame or Steven Payne but never been lucky enough.
  2. I have heard her speak twice now fascinating also attended a small Q and A with her in Carinthia lounge
  3. Good I am glad you got a booking . Watch out for when it changes. The app is very fair and won’t let you book for the same show twice.
  4. Never has been any different. I don’t like paying double or 175% as a solo for my cabin but if I want to cruise then that’s the cost to me. I have never had double OBC. Depending on the offer if it’s per person it’s just one allowance and per cabin well speaks for its self.
  5. Cunard offer drinks packages on shorter cruises but the under 5 nights daily rate is more then than 5 nights or more price. Last time was 95$ a day I think for under 5 nights.
  6. Glad you are settled on O K. Looking forward to hearing about your dining tonight. Book Bright Lights as soon as you can. Might be open today for booking.
  7. Not when the berth has been given to another cruise line the schedule was forced to change.
  8. How exciting. I would enjoy paying guess the cruise line.
  9. Very little doesn’t interest me and I can only remember one being awful - a talk on wellness and heathy eating. Didn’t help she had spelling and grammar mistakes on her slides which was a no no for me what ever the topic was.
  10. Yes I tried to change a Cunard one that was only a few days over the 12 months and the computer said No so had to chose another one within the 12 months window. Win for Cunard as I was so up for the original choice I ended up booking it anyway.
  11. Single balconies on Iona and Britannia are not worth the small saving. Never had an solo inside. I always now book a standard cabin and take the hit and enjoy the extra space.
  12. I am a bit nearer to Southampton than you and it’s steady rain here too at the moment.
  13. Yes I just had to renew for a December sailing but looks like mine lasted for a year as two sailings in September and October were applied against last years upload but needed to re upload for this application. Upload was approved just waiting for OBC to be applied. No drama. Just used an image of share certificate from my phone. Edit Since writing this just checked my emails and I have received a new booking confirmation overnight showing the OBC. Started process on Tuesday and received it today so really only 4 business days plus Saturday. Definitely quicker than before
  14. Yes but it goes up as you move through the tiers. My allowance covers internet for a 7 day cruise and if I use my share holders OBC on a 14 nighter I am still left with dollar up on the deal . There are other useful perks too.
  15. Hope you enjoy as much as I did. Very similar itinerary. Will look forward to your updates.
  16. All served in July and hot. No issues.
  17. Done ordered from Amazon arriving tomorrow. Off on QM2 next week so perfect timing. Thank you.
  18. Off to website now to purchase. Thank you for the info.
  19. I have just done a dummy booking and can see forward cabins are sold out. I think they would have been the £8834 ones and the next price point with availability is the £9511. It is confusing as they should be quoting the cheapest available cabin as the headline price.
  20. The website what’s in port is a useful source of information too.
  21. My now retired G P told me that years ago. Don’t waste money on fancy packaging , names and unnecessary extra ingredients. Plain old paracetamol will do the job. 30 years later I still follow that advice and like you find it works just as well.
  22. On My voyage once you are onboard. You need to keep checking for when they open the booking window. They have a queue at the door in case people don’t turn up but you need to be at the front to stand a good chance of getting in. It’s worse if it’s a cold wet day as folk are more likely to book it.
  23. I was placed on a sharing table when I checked it on embarkation day but declined it straight away as I prefer a solo table to my self - I am female and in my sixties for reference. I was swopped to a two top to myself. I can’t comment how they work out the composition of groups but I don’t suppose they have access to your age etc.. when allocating your table. I have never had a problem being allocated a solo table but these last two cruises QM and QA have initially been assigned to a table of six. Going to check my table is part of my embarkation day ritual and am always there when they open. Even if your checked you were on a sharing table you won’t know who your other companions are until you dine for the first time. The solo meet ups may help you meet other solos. Again not my thing so have never been so can’t comment on how useful they are. I suppose it depends on as you say how many similar solos there are for you to join with. There are several other solos on here who may give you more useful advice.
  24. Mine game through today up to December 2026 but was pleased as there was a cruise booked for 2026 which I didn’t remember I had. Glad to see that as I would probably have tried to book it again.
