  1. They had a significant breakout in Australia. Over 100 cases quoted in Aussie news. Not even reported here. Think the media is tried of reporting on covid.
  2. Agree that one should not plan on Celebrity offering covid tests at the port. A chemist or proctored test plan would be a good idea as the rules change often.
  3. One more time. You can bring 2 bottles of wine on board in your carryon stuff. If you do not have a beverage package there is a corkage fee to bring it on board. This is a change in policy.
  4. Some 20% of Captain's Club members prefer the M class ships over the others simply because they are smaller. They also have easier access as there are elevators fore, aft AND midship. Really handy. As for Infinity the spent a few million on cosmetic redos and lots of carpet.
  5. The photo of your NHS paper is exactly what you use. Do not understand what a precruise at checkin would be. Lots of discussion about vaccination rules going away. Remember that the rules are not only from the cruiselines, but countries and ports. Every port would need to need to allow in guests without testing. Your unvaccinated comment is different from testing. Thus for unvaccinated to sail both the cruiseline and all ports would need to allow it. Not sure that us what you meant
  6. Depends on future cruises as to the number of covid cases. Are they masked today - a few. Tomorrow- ask my Magic 8 Ball.
  7. Years ago there are a promotion that offered a $250 OBC to residents of Arizona. We booked 2 cabins with friends. Ladies in one cabin and men in the other. Simply switched once on board. Not hard to do the same with names on a reservation; especially with 2 or more cabins.
  8. I see you are new to Cruise Critic. The cost to upgrade is $15 per day with discounts available to Captain's Club members and various promotions. Those discounts vary greatly depending on your cruise package. You need to do a mock booking or call your TA. Our last cruise my package included the upgrade.
  9. Was told by my old boss - now VP for Alaska Airlines - to tape a sticky note with contact info for your destination including dates and phone number. We use clear packing tape. Put info on inside of the sticky. On the outside write "contact details" and "itinerary inside". Have had bags reach us 2 ports downline, at our hotel or if traveling by car to multiple cities had then awaiting our arrival - the hotel texted us they were there - 3 days later. Absolutely positively put a full itinerary on a sheet inside your case.
  10. Tapatalk is a voice software that was banned from the Google App Store about 2 years ago for security issues. Suggest you delete it.
  11. Waiting in line on boarding for a couple hours for the remote chance I would be upgraded? Nope. Lots better to book a cabin you are happy with and see if you get a MoveUp accepted. If not for me time to MoveOn.
  12. Disagree. Jennifer responds to her emails. The poster suggested sending directly to her. I have gotten a response every time within 72 hours. And yes, my message is clear, concise and just the facts.
  13. ANY government approved test can be proctored iHealth tests are fine, just pack carefully. You can also get them at Costco or any grocery store pharmacy. My Medicare Advantage insurance would pay for 8 tests at any of those places. The proctoring company has no idea where you are. Just get a strong WiFi signal so it doesn't drop. Iceland FYI has better phone coverage than the US and my rental car has WiFi Hotspot! Relax. It will be fine.
  14. Booking online is probably not a very good idea. Either call them as what you are seeing it AI. Adding wifi beverage package etc. o If everything is not good to go simply pay the gratuities on board would be easiest.
  15. You simply need to let Celebrity know your needs. They can arrange everything. Not a problem. Gluten free is not an unusual request. Book your cruise and then email specials needs so staff is alerted before you cruise.
  16. My vax certificate was approved the very next day after submission! My rhyme or reason.
  17. The new Celebrity policy says if you do not have a beverage package there is a mandatory corkage fee. Wine or liquor found in suitcases is held until the end of your cruise unless you convincingly plead ignorance and pay the corkage fee for wine.
  18. That is exactly the reason my DW brings her cans of diet tonic on board. Often not available and if it is very different taste. Agree bringing cases of water is a bit silly. Bring a bottle and refill.
  19. Susan there are several companies that specialize in business class tickets. Do a Google search. See what they can do. As Host Anne said things are crazy out there right now and the airport in Rome was terrible before this started. Do a search using - business class flight deals to Europe. I have done business with the first company listed and know others who used the second.
  20. You get double points on the leg she can't make. She obviously will not get points for the leg she misses. However you can tie the accounts together. ๐Ÿ˜€ You need to see if there is a reduced rate for a single on that leg. Since a combo of OBC from Celebrity and your TA, only they can sort it out. Is complicated with B2B discounts as well.
  21. You sound upset about this. I completely agree that whether prices include or do not include the gratuity is confusing and one can likely find it described both ways. I also get the principle of don't mess around with my wallet. I detest being quoted on price and then when I drive to pick up the item things have changed However, my wife has made me back off and accept the small stuff as not worth my time and energy if less that 10% of the total. A cruise is say several thousand dollars? Not worth messing with what is about $20. If one wants an easy way to save that amount then simply upgrade on the 2nd day. Saves a few $$ and certainly the hassle of calling for the upgrade.
  22. The OP asked when was checkin. Am sure your answer is perfect. Mine simply gave what Celebrity says online. Of course it can sometimes be more or less due to time zones, holidays, weekends and that things happen on a flexible schedule at Celebrity
  23. There are some medical insurance policies that will cover the $15. Not mine!
  24. The pricce changes as: in some countries gratuities are not added at the end, then you have "sales", Captain's Club discounts and various parts of the website that are not always updated - the mobile site often different from full site. The prices are always within a few $$ and insignificant compared to the total.cost of taking a cruise until you live near FLL or MIA.
  25. FBC is a consolidator. If their seats are part of group blocks the rules on those seats are different. Sometimes more flexible and other times not. Airline travel today is chaos. All you can do is ask both FBC AND the airlines. If you do not like the answer call back and ask again as the answer might well be different. Sadly your flights are likely to change again
