We are going on our first Celebrity cruise in February and I hope you’ll come back and share your thoughts about X. We are elite on Princess and so far I’m not impressed with communication and ala carte pricing from X.

New X cruiser here. If a cord is confiscated do they return it to you at the end of the cruise? I have a plug in device with 3 outlets and 4 USB ports that I use on Princess and it’s never been taken from my carry on luggage. It does not have surge protection but what I’m reading here it seems like X might be stricter than P. I don’t want to lose it as it’s a great device and I would hope X would return it if they wouldn’t allow it onboard.

Very interested in your SV photos. We are booked on the Ascent in February and this will be our first time on X. We are booked in a SV which I think we were lucky to get. Would you please post a photo of the bathroom? TIA

We are also new to X and will be sailing on the Ascent in February. We will be eating in one of the 4 MDR’s and we selected anytime dining. When I went to book reservations the only options available were between 8:30 and 9:30. We prefer to eat earlier rather than later. My question is does X offer walk up dining in the 4 dining rooms for people without reservations? I did have my TA put us on the wait list for the 6 pm fixed time dining but don’t know if this will open up in the next 3 months or not.

I love the butter dish you got….so colorful! The area doesn’t look very crowded today. The last time I was there a few years back I remember it being packed with people and the traffic was bad.

Thanks for the suggestion but I’d prefer to see the menus from this week’s cruise as I’ll be on the exact same cruise next week. The menus I found online aren’t current for the 7 day Mexican Riviera sailing. I’m trying to plan which nights we will do specialty dining as we have 2 included in our cruise.

Have you been out on the open decks this morning? Is it still cool weather or starting to get warmer as you head south?

We will be on the 2/11 sailing as well and hoping to read some Live reports between now and then. This will be our first sailing on Celebrity and we are excited to be sailing on a new ship.

Have you tried them yet? Hoping they have the BFC on the Discovery for the Thanksgiving cruise. Looking forward to hearing your report on the ice cream desserts (if you try them). I’m wondering if you can order one and ask them to leave off the lollipop, twizzles and candy canes? I’m not a fan of hard candy so these would go straight to the garbage.

If a staff member earns a commission I’d be happy to help them out (if the line isn’t too long). I do hope the staff person who sells it to me gets the commission and it’s not going into some large overall pool.

Very interesting and thought provoking thread. It’s given me something to think about. Thank you @HaveDogWillTravel for sharing what you have learned. There an are handful of people I follow and respect on CC and you are on the list. You’ve given me something to ponder and consider on our upcoming cruise where we don’t have a package on one of our legs. I do have to say I feel a little misled by Princess in believing that the gratuities are just that…..tips for the exceptional service we receive…..as opposed to regular salary for the crew.
