  1. We have only eaten in Reserve on Caribbean and Mexico sailings and we also eat between 5-6 when the dining room has always been slow. Our next Reserve is in the Caribbean so hoping it’s a similar pattern where it’s slow between 5 and 6. I think you are right about the eating patterns on European cruises as many people are accustomed to eating much later over the pond.
  2. This is not good news! One of the advantages of having Reserve Collection is not having to wait for a table. We’ve had this on several cruises on Royal Class ships and the dining room has never been full. Did you eat in the Reserve Collection Dining room last night? If so, did they have the prime rib cart? Asking for DH.
  3. @CanadianBurger Thank you for taking us along on your cruise! I’m loving your photos and videos! We are in a Reserve Mini-Suite in November and have a couple questions if you are able to answer. Do they have the prime rib cart in the Reserve restaurant at dinner? On the deck plan for your cabin does it indicate “bed by entrance” or “sofa by entrance”? Enjoy your cruise and thanks again for all your information so far!!!
  4. Thanks for your Live report. Enjoy your cruise!!!
  5. Following your thread you started and hope you’ll share information about Spellbound if you get to experience it on your cruise. I’d really like to see the menu for the dinner.
  6. We are booked in a Reserve Mini Suite in November. The cabin we selected says the sofa is by the entrance. Hoping this is the case as I want the bed closer to the balcony. I want to wake up, open my eyes, see the ocean and be closer to it!
  7. Yes the balconies are the same size but it’s the room that is “substantially larger”. Stateroom 11450 (MS) is 304 sq ft and 11466 (Balcony) is 236 sq ft. Perhaps if they put a comma after the word balcony it might be more clear that it is the room that is substantially larger. “Choose a luxurious Mini-Suite with balcony, which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom.” Or just leave out the words “with balcony” ”Choose a luxurious Mini-Suite which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom.”
  8. Love seeing my cat Jasmine every time I walk up to my door.
  9. From what I’ve read I believe you do get in as the Signature Suite (same size as mini-suite) is a S9 cabin. Any cabin that is in the category S gets access to the signature sun deck, signature lounge and signature restaurant.
  10. I am so looking forward to sailing on this ship for 14 days in November! I will decide for myself if I like this new concept and if I don’t then I’ll be back to the Royal Class ships which I love, especially the Majestic. I learned a lesson 2 weeks ago when I was on the new Celebrity Ascent. This was our first time on X and I had read a lot of negative reviews from people about the cruise line and the new ship. I had told my DH this cruise on X was going to a one and done. Boy was I wrong! We loved the ship and we loved X. We booked another cruise on another E class ship while we were still onboard which is something we have never done before. So what I learned is not to form an opinion based on what others are posting (most who aren’t even on the ship) but to go into this new ship concept with an open mind.
  11. I’m curious does Bug make an appearance at Trivia? If she does are you able to get a picture with Bug? I’d love to meet both Captain Kate and Bug Naked!
  12. We are booked on a 7 day cruise on the APEX in February 2025 and the cost is $35.99 per person per day. Shorter cruise = higher price.
  13. We were on the Ascent last week and used this charging station in the outlet next to the bed. I had it in my carry on bag and my bag wasn’t pulled when it went through security. https://www.amazon.com/Extender-HICITY-Multiple-Splitter-Expander/dp/B0CMTHFLPG
  14. Just off the Ascent last Sunday and yes this is allowed. My DH and I each want access to the internet so we can each have one of our devices online at a time. When we want to change to another device we disconnect the WI-FI and then switch to another device. It worked well for us and yes it was cheaper to purchase a 2 device plan than to each purchase a 1 device plan. I am intrigued by this Premium Access pass for our cruise in February 2025. 🤔
  15. I’m so hoping we can get a Teppanyaki reservation for one of our 14 nights in November.
  16. There were 3 appetizer options. Coconut shrimp, chicken wings and battered fish. I had the coconut shrimp with sauce and I liked them. My husband had the battered fish and said it was….meh. I don’t eat fish (except for shrimp) so I didn’t try his fish.
  17. We were on Ascent last week and the 4 main dining rooms opened at 5:30 pm. We got right in and were able to get to the theater by 7:00 each night and get great seats. The 7:30 production shows were filled to capacity so it seems like they were pretty full by 7:15 if you wanted 2 seats together. People were pretty good about filling in the seats in the center rows we sat in on deck 4 to make room for everyone.
  18. It was through Celebrity and we paid $118.99 per person a month before the cruise. It was slim pickings when I booked and this was the only tour available at the time that went to Nevis. I would highly recommend it! Although it didn’t include lunch we stopped at the same spot as @hcat and were able to purchase drinks and appetizers. When we arrived at the volcanic hot springs and I thought this is going to be lame. I almost didn’t get off the bus but I’m glad I did as it felt really good. We had taken another cruise the week before this one and of all the excursions we did over the 2 weeks the Two Island Triple Play was our favorite.
  19. We are just off the Ascent yesterday and did a different excursion to Nevis called Two Island Triple Play. We also stopped at the volcanic hot springs and did get in the water, up to our knees. We loved it! I suffer from leg and foot pain and had no pain for the rest of the day. Made for a very enjoyable excursion. The water was hot, 112 degrees. We also visited the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton (reason we booked the excursion) and wish we had time to go in the museum. Our tour stopped at Lime as well but didn’t include lunch, we just ordered a very strong drink and a couple appetizers. The other main difference was our ride to Nevis was a 45 minute ride on a catamaran which was very enjoyable and not over crowded as yours was. I would also recommend this tour to anyone wanting to go to Nevis. We would like to go back to Nevis in the future and spend a week at the Four Seasons (our excursion didn’t stop there).
  20. Greetings from San Juan where we captured this photo of the rare and elusive Puerto Rican pigeon. Really enjoying all your wildlife photos.
  21. We are cruising around the Caribbean for a couple weeks and thought of you when we saw these elusive Ocean Cay pigeons. Very rare!
  22. I think when we sailed on Princess in November they were either $50 or $55. They have gone up in price as I paid $40 for mine but that was over 5 years ago. Even though they have gone up I would pay the higher price for another if I ever have to replace it as this is my one go to item that goes with me on every trip whether, cold or warm weather.
  23. Just found your page and look forward to reading your reviews. We board on the 11th and it’s our first time on X. Trying to learn as much as possible before we sail. Have a great vacation and thanks for sharing your trip!
  24. I purchased one of these jackets several years ago and I take it on every trip I go on even if going to a warm weather destination. It works great on a plane as a neck pillow and if I get cold I can unwrap it and I’ve got a snuggly coat to warm up in. I highly recommend this jacket. Also another great place to get cold weather jackets is 32degrees.com. Their prices are reasonable and the jackets are very warm. I love their down jackets more than their poly-fill jackets. The couple poly-fill jackets I own are too warm. I took one to NYC at Christmas and ended up not wearing it even though the temps were at times low 30’s.
