  1. Wonderful attitude, and IMO, should be one taken by all cruisers, on all ships. Yes, stuff happens. But in the large picture, how lucky are we to be traveling on a ship. "Nobody died", as a famous, long time Celebrity cruise director used to say when there was a hiccup in the day. I was originally scheduled to go on the next sailing, but had to cancel. Something that crossed my mind when I booked, and again as I have been reading your review, is that this is a new home port and deployment for that ship, and as such may have a more than usual number of new staff turnover. That could help explain the communication breakdown if the crew is not yet used to working together as a team. Curious how the Medallion arrival and check in went. The Port Everglades set up is so fun and dramatic, flashing your photo with a personal welcome on the big screen, it would be pretty hard to replicate.
  2. I have successfully carried on in Ft Lauderdale, Port Canaveral and Tampa with a bag measuring 11" x 18" x 24". No pushback at all, anywhere.
  3. I've been waiting for confirmation about that myself. Don't ever recall seeing one.
  4. Maybe they are working on inventory over the weekend. I was able to book the October 2026 Caribbean Princess reposition cruise last week, and that would be the start of the '26, '27 winter season. It's a nice itinerary - Port Canaveral, the ABCs, a few more islands, then ends in Ft Lauderdale.
  5. How quickly people forget the angry uproar here when the pirate ship first appeared. Half Moon Cay ruined forever! How dare they spoil the beach! The newest insult now seems to be a dock being built further up (down?) the island.
  6. No. Do early walk off, grab a cab, and you will be there in plenty of time.
  7. Look on the bright side, if you are still able to go...Maybe you could listen in and enjoy some singing sessions. And as someone who worked many years in the hotel industry, I can tell you that Church Groups rival only High School Sports Teams when it comes to cutting loose and raising he## when encountered in the wild.
  8. Wouldn't it make more sense to air your complaint to on board management, corporate management, or both? People here on an internet chat room really can't help your situation.
  9. Very nice, thorough review. Thanks for taking the time to share all the details.
  10. Something to consider about reserving LPC. Even though you have resolved your tech issue, IMO it is worth visiting the dining desk once you board. LPC usually has several story line menu options per cruise, and one night's menu might appeal more than another night. On each night, one side of the menu matches the animation, and there is also one substitution per course that is available, but it will not match the story line.
  11. Did you check Google before you went through 10 pages here? It just took me a minute to find this. Pick up in Sarasota is 7AM. https://book.thecruiseexpress.com/Tour/Miami-Cruise-Express-West-Coast
  12. Yes, both Puerta Plata piers are very long, so I don't see them going away anytime soon.
  13. I would drop my luggage at 21, then drive over and park at 2. There should be a Princess shuttle to take you back to 21. This keeps you from having to haul your bags on to the bus and back to another terminal garage upon your return. There is not a general use, inter-terminal shuttle at PE, but they do provide one when this sort of situation arises. Celebrity has to make similar arrangements occasionally when a ship leaves and returns to a different terminal. If this does not appeal, then you will line up @ 2 upon your return, and take the shuttle back to the 21 garage with all your fellow passengers.
  14. I don't know what you are looking at, but this hotel opened just last year...
  15. Asking at each port page is really the best way to go. If you do not wish to ask, all you really need to do is spend some time reading. Rarely is there anything new posted, the same "what to do", "how much is a taxi", "which beach is best", etc. questions are asked repeatedly. If something appeals to you, you can always ask a detailed question about it on the appropriate page.
  16. Another vote for Mystic Man. Have gone out with them several times. It is great to see the Pitons from further off shore, as most small boats simply hug the coast on the way down. Once several reservations no-showed, making us below the minimum number required, and they took us out anyway after, admittedly, some price negotiations.
  17. 9 kg, 1 1/2 stone - either way, it's the "eat" part that catches up after all those sea days
  18. Exactly - although admittedly, it was funnier 20 years and 20 pounds ago.
  19. I find it is a good idea to remind the waiter that it should be no charge due to your loyalty status. When they are busy, or new to the position, they may not automatically notice your status and/or know all the perks included. The Al Baccio team is always alert to this, I have only run into erroneous charges at the satellite venues It could save a trip to guest services to have a charge removed.
  20. Not recommended, but I (easily) made a 9:30 flight after docking on Celebrity. I had booked an 11:30 backup flight, but did not need it. Do early walk off, and there will be plenty of cabs waiting. You are going against early morning rush hour traffic, so that makes it a pretty quick trip. I didn't open @ggTexasGal link, but I assume it is the agriculture inspection. Absolutely go there first, get your sticker, then go to baggage drop off.
  21. I spent some time there a few years back when I had a short port call, as it was relatively close to the ship. I was unable to totally relax due to the low flying planes. The beach is right on the flight path of either incoming or outgoing (or both) airplanes. Can't comment on food or drink, I did not stay that long. I mentioned it on here at the time, and someone said that it is only on weekends. That's when all the timeshares turn over, and people fly in and out. So, you may or may not have to experience that noise, but for me it was a one and done.

  23. There is a restaurant by that name in Puerta Plata, did you mean to post the question on the Dominican Republic page? Grand Turk small and flat, no waterfalls there.
  24. Google The Fred St Croix. Google (or Duck Duck Go, if you prefer) is a great source for non-cruise related info like this.
