  1. On Summit they bake them fresh in the OceanView Cafe and they are smaller than before , but are stll fresh baked and wonderful, as are the almond (filled with Almond paste)
  2. Any possibility that you could post a picture of the MDR Menu or a few of them?? Our October cruise shown nothing
  3. They are advertising on TV that they are bring back 'favorites" All we can hope is that that's a good thing and not favorites that save them more money, but rather favorites that make their guests happy!
  4. Same question about the MDR food. Recently off Summit and the food had taken a major decline, as was the OV. Your thoughts?
  5. I think that in my opinion, as a frequent X cruiser, it is the frequent cruisers that notice the decline. If you are sailing for the first time on X you wont notice any decline. on Summit recently, an hour and a half before the buffet was to shut down the carving station was out of fresh turkey, and we were informed that there was no more available as " we just are not cooking as much as we did before, the station is gonna close" In addition, there is no longer fresh turkey at the salad bar as a topping, but rather some chopped , pressed and formed mystery meat that they informed us was "turkey" Just sad as X is advertising that favorites are returning to the dinning room, but I think the focus is on the new E class ships only Just my opinion!
  6. I know that you guys cruise on X a lot, but have you been on an S class ship of late and maybe know about the MDR diner food. Off Summit recently and we were very dissapointed in the major decline in the quality of food and the offerings. Any fed back?
  7. After our last sailing on Summit, we noticed a MASSIVE decline in the food quality and many, many favorite items replaced with lower quality options, and the elimination of many "Always available" nightly options other than the featured ones. Anyone have any feedback or updates on changes that might be coming?
  8. We were on Summit too earlier this year and also found the food to have taken a MAJOR turn for the worse. Anyone know if there is any word about new updated menus?? The cost cutting in the MDR is beyond BAD.
  9. Per Celebrity and the State Dept, since it is a "closed loop cruise" starting in a US port and ending in a US port, you do not have to have a passport. You will need a government issued ID like a Driver License and your Birth Certificate. From the Celebrity website on documents needed for travel: U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same port in the U.S.) will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of citizenship, such as a government-issued birth certificate and laminated government issued picture ID, denoting photo, name and date of birth. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16 will be able to present either an original or notarized or certified copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issues by DOS, or Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Note: Baptismal papers and hospital certificates of birth are not acceptable. Voter registration cards or Social Security cards are not considered proof of citizenship.
  10. If I book a future cruise onboard to get my discount and reduced deposit, can I also book for a friend who's not on board to get them the discount as well?
  11. Anyone have any information regarding updated WiFi on Star Breeze and Starlink WiFi ? Thanks!
  12. Really sad as the dinning room and buffet were always steps above Royal and now menues in both areas are being dumbed down as cosy saving measures. For the new higher rates that X is charging, I have to believe that the cuts are more about making more money that caring what their loyal customers have come to expect from X. I am a share holder, so them making money is good, but overall, I think it will effect peoples attitude about X being a step above. Hope X reads the boards as sees that more andmore people are not happy with all the reductions
  13. We are just off Summit and the deserts were still on the menu, BUT LOTS of other mains are gone!!. No more Rack of Lamb, and a few others. The Rack stood out in our minds and quite a few of the new menu items were poor at best. Overall the dinning experience was still wonderful, but the new menu items left a lot to be desired in our opinion. AND, the Souffle is NO LONGER on the Menu for Chic night Much cost cutting on the food side most likely due to post Covid return. Even the buffet was not what it use to be. Fajitas everyday without rotation to something different, the carving station "ran out" turkey an hour before closing, etc. Still had a good time and like X, but we miss the superior mains that use to be in the dinning room, and the change in variety of foods in the buffet. Again, our opinion as food is very subjective
  14. I fold and then use clear packing tape on them to make them stronger, then staple. NEVER had one rip or come off
  15. Just called Celebrity and asked to upgrade to the Premium Pkg for myself . I have always been able to do this, until today! The rep told me that they updated the system and it only allows BOTH people in the cabin upgrade like on Royal. Has anyone else experienced this?? I asked if I could upgrade on the ship and she said "you can try".
  16. Found this which shows everything including the new porthole cabins. Use the link and scroll down the page to Yacht Facts then click on virtual deck plan by clicking on the dot that will bring up the staterooms and other areas of the ship Once you click on the dot, then click on the icon for full screen and the virtual tour comes up https://www.windstarcruises.com/ships/star-breeze/
  17. As would I. Just booked 306 and am finding little to no information on these cabins other than they are new and part of the stretched ship addition. Don’t really care about the no window as we are not in our cabin during the day as we are always out. Hope since it is new and added it has the new walk in shower If anyone has any info, pictures or videos it would be great
  18. Off of Solstice about a month ago and we bought 3 Book later at $100 pp and they are good for 2 years, and if they are not used you get a full refund of your deposits
  19. Just off a back to back and found the ship to be in very good shape for no major refurbishment. Yes there things that look more dated (colors), but overall well take care of and amazing staff. A few glass windows with moisture leaks, but nothing that effects your time on her. Only thing that was in very poor shape was the balcony furniture and the tremendous amount of rust and lack of maintenance of the deck 12 overhang. The overhang is beyond bad and need major attention, but didn't effect our vacation at all
  20. Boarding in LA is a major Cluster F. Always a mess and on our last B2B we had to get off the ship and go through customs to get back on and NOBODY knew what was going on. It's usually a mess. Guess we will see as we board Solstice on Saturday for a B2B to Mexico
  21. What if your on a back to back? We have two 7 day back to back sailings in Oct
  22. Does anyonw know what is served at the lunch? This will be our first time in C class
  23. We will be sailing on Solstice as she has taken over for Millie for the Mexican Riviera. One question if you can answer. Have the beds been replaced with the new mattresses? We know she missed her refirb and just wondering? TIA
  24. Have they changed the mattresses to the new ones? Since she did not get her refurb, wondering if they at least updated the beds Thanks
