Can you connect to the tv via Bluetooth to play your own music?
Meander Ingwa replied to skindeep's topic in Viking Ocean
that is a shame. Elsewhere is being discussed the low volume of the TV screens. Seems like Bluetooth ear buds would be a real help. -
Seattle: luggage storage, Pier 66 and Mariners game
Meander Ingwa replied to cajun-crazy's topic in West Coast Departures
Oh shoot, a game would have been fun. That does give you leeway to use a drop facility uptown near the ferry, though. I recommend, if it is s nice day, to time your ferry trip to include sunset. Get a picnic at the market and enjoy on the ferry -
I agree that there may be the issue of International borders and passport issues. Yes they have within the last year or two allowed "X" as a gender .

stadium has a clear bag policy. Do you really need that backpack? could you swap for a compliant vinyl bag? 12" x 6" x 12". You could have it inside a fabric bag until you need to do security -

people argue that the dog at the church is better. I think it becomes somewhat like BBQ or Pizza places in the US. Fighting words LOL -

I love a snappy dog. To me that is a serious part of the pleasure. -

those hot dogs are almost a national dish and a great bargain, price wise. Vikinga Pylsur near the Hallgrimskirkja has a real interesting menu. I think the best thing is the snap of the quality casing. You can also get a vegan dog or a pulled pork or pulled lamb in a bun. -
Who do you contact for flight issues - TA or Viking Air Plus?
Meander Ingwa replied to mikenannie's topic in Viking Ocean
I would download the Delta app so you have access to their notifications; baggage loading and unloading, baggage claim, boarding passes , gate numbers and the like. I would default to contacting Delta directly if there is an air issue. As far as other issues I would drop a note to your agent and find out how they like to approach things. Factor in that you may be many time zones from your agent so I suspect you will want to directly communicate with Viking for in the moment issues. This includes having the phone number of the ship itself. -

King street station next to the stadium has baggage storage. There is also a network of baggage storage services called Bounce. I would check at King Street first, checking clearly for open and close times. The variety of food at the stadium is amazing, enjoy. -

I will be very sad if sticky buns of any kind are not accessible. I do, however, love a nice Kringle so I might have to cry into my tea with that -
I think Amsterdam is a very user friendly city with a lot of charm. The train to Kiel is about 6.5 hours. Trains in Europe are frequent and efficient and more worry free than driving. My choice would be Amsterdam simply for its logistics from the airport and getting around town or even out into the country side. There is much to see and do particularly if your are an art museum lover. If you are a bike user, the system of bike paths out into the very flat countryside would make for a lovely change of pace. If you are thinking A'dam, and have a mind to visit Anne Frank House, you need to book well in advance for that visit

I had planned, many times, to visit Kyoto as a follow on to a World Master Games event that never happened. I could easily fill a week in Kyoto so that would be my choice. Theatre ( Noh Kabuki and Puppets) , The Philosophers Path, the multiple temples and the Gion District just to start.

and for returning to town, the Elizabeth Line will get you back where you need to be. Select your interest, the EL intersects with many stations where you can transfer to tube lines. at the end of your day in the city, if you plan it well, you can take an evening Uber Boat down to Canary Wharf and get the Elizabeth line back to Heathrow. You get the enjoyment of a Thames eye view of all the iconic places like Westminster, Southwark, The Globe Theatre, St Pauls, London Eye, Tower of London. Can be beautiful at sunset / dusk

outside of the box thinking for getting to heathrow. Get a cab for the 16 miles to Shenfield station (north of Tilbury). There you can get the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow

How is second child getting to you or the embarkation port?

Viking is clear about knives being forbidden. I would consider having the shop ship them home

Earliest flight from Seattle post Alasks cruise
Meander Ingwa replied to highway180's topic in West Coast Departures
@highway180 you can pre-book TSA clearance time, even when you re standing in line for your bag drop. If there is a hole in the reservation line you can jump in. It is a somewhat new feature at SEA, see their web site. Delta also often has curbside bag checking on busy days. I have buy passed the inside line and used that hidden gem -

Earliest flight from Seattle post Alasks cruise
Meander Ingwa replied to highway180's topic in West Coast Departures
Most consider this doable but you do want to leave at or before 8 to assure you are comfortably on time. The airport will be busy and Seattle Traffic can be a frustration. Anything before 11 am is not recommended. -
agree with Glaciers, if you are good walkers, the Elliot Bay Trail / Centennial Trail is nice and that will get you to the Olympic Sculpture Park then upward to the Market. Zoom in on your Google Mapp to see it as an option. On a sunny day it is really a beautiful trip. You can then go onward to the Center via the Monorail and back to the ship on Uber /Lyft.

The view from Seacrest Park is almost considered iconic. It is where many photographers go during electric storms, fireworks and dazzling sunrise. I notice the original video posted above did NOT include shots from the elevator ride. It is full exposure, on the side of the building looking out.

since you do not have an ETA, except "late" I would suggest booking a hotel downtown and using Lyft /Uber to get there. That puts you in the downtown core for your embark. You will face much less traffic anxiety getting there ( again Uber Lyft) than on a weekday commute, which in Seattle can be pretty much all day. That gives you time to walk to Pike Place Market and have breakfast in one of the iconic cafes; Lowells
