One other thing if you haven't paid in full yet: watch your balance. Several of us have seen the website pre-selecting the Pre-paid Tips package even if you booked a suite that already includes them. I think this must be in preparation for the 10/4 changes. For now, you can just remove that charge and your balance should correct.

Another first-timer here booked for the Retreat in Jan. Like you, we booked prior to the announced changes so Premium WIFI, drinks and tips are included. I've found the Retreat Concierge line is hit or miss - you may get a newbie one day or someone very helpful the next. Just hang up on the newbie and call back later. I've never waited very long. You'll be able to verify your package inclusions in the Manage Reservation section. Once there, you'll see the Packages and Extras section lists your inclusions (below)

Can I Use A VPN on Starlink With Premium WIFI?
Winemaker_1 replied to Luvcrusn's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Another OpenVPN option is using the VPN's Obfuscated Servers. VPN blockers are sometimes employed by countries and some cruise ships. If this is the case, you should be able to utilize your VPN's Obfuscated Servers to evade the VPN blocker. Here's my previous post outlining the setup for NordVPN as an example. Other VPN providers would be similar if they have obfuscated servers as an option. -

Does your cruise depart from the US east coast? Is that why it opened then?

Still confused re. Classic vs. Premium drink packages

I think the card is your Sea Pass card (room key card) -
Search youtube. I've seen at least one vlogger review this type of cabin. It did have a somewhat obstructed view but, as stated above, not always.

Every time I log into my reservation, the system is still selecting 'Prepaid Tips' as an add-on when my Retreat reservation already includes them. I have to de-select it to get the proper balance. Double check your reservation before you pay.

Any advantage to pre-paying gratuities?
Winemaker_1 replied to jayoldschool's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I don't think so. Cruise lines that include tips in your cruise fare (Silversea, Regent, Azamara, etc.) don't give you an option to remove it. And even Celebrity automatically adds the (now) $23/pp/pd to you bill, if you don't prepay. It sounds like you need to go to Guest Services on the ship to opt out of tips. -
I'm told you can place your room service order with your Retreat concierge team and they will handle it. As for placing items in your mini-refrigerator, I'm not sure you have one anymore in SSs and Sunset SSs. I phoned the Retreat Concierge 800 number last week to get some clarity on the changes. The person I spoke with told me directly that the mini-bar refrigerator is now full of items that are NOT included. I pointed out that all of the mini-bar items are already included in my Retreat premium drinks package and asked why there would be a charge for them? He kindly acknowledged that I was correct, but that was now the policy. This is asinine. I asked if he would remove all my mini-bar stuff on my upcoming voyage so that I could fill it with things I drink from the Retreat Lounge. He said that can be arranged. My wife is still trying to trying to talk me into keeping this reservation but this seems to be getting more stupid by the day.

Thanks, everyone! I had no idea this was SOP.

I just watched a cruise vlogger talk about getting his passport back at the end of his cruise. Does Silversea collect and hold people's passports during the voyage? What reason would they have for doing this? I've never surrendered my passport to anyone other than the immigration/customs people at airports for the few minutes they check it over. Thanks.

Home to possibly my favorite AVA (or two). Anything from Red Mountain or Candy Mountain… I've made one gold medal- and two silver medal-winning wines from Yakima Valley fruit over the past 20 years or so (Columbia Gorge AVA): Pinot Gris, Sauvignon blanc, and a lovely Nebbiolo Rose (you read that right - Nebbiolo in Columbia Valley). I have not found YV red varietal fruit to be great at producing red wines. I did made a nice Rhone blend years ago, but I dumped 120+ bottles of my last attempt at YV Pinot noir down the drain a few years ago.

My TA said the tickets can be booked 250-270 days out but are ticketed 60 days prior. Not sure I fully understand the distinction, but seems in line with others above.

I called the special Retreat Concierge hotline today and the person I got must have been hired yesterday. This person knew significantly less than me and I have never sailed before on X or any other line. Couldn't answer anything without 2-3 minutes of trying to "look up" the answer. Then, we were disconnected (not on my end). No call back. Celebrity is a seriously confused organization at this time and my vacation is not going to be their alpha- or beta-test. I'm moving on. The first impression they've made to me is that they're a bunch of bozos.

The X app shows the Lunimae menu with pricing next to coffee drinks. Are these not included?

The creative re-naming of fish has been a marketing joke for decades: Orange Roughy (Slimehead), Chilean Sea Bass (Patagonia Toothfish), Mahi Mahi (Dolphinfish). Euphemistic names notwithstanding, nearly 20% of all fish is incorrectly labelled, whether intentionally or not.

I It's doing the same for me when I log into my Celebrity account. I booked the Retreat and although the Packages and Extras section states "The Retreat, Premium Wi-Fi, Premium drinks, Tips", it keeps selecting Prepaid Tips as an add-on. I've just be deselecting it every time I go in there.
