  1. Exactly. Mine was in the bedroom closet underneath the laundry bags. I never used it and left it for the next happy cruiser.
  2. I've seen a number of people ask about bring soda and water on the ship. Just curious why do this, as it is all available on board?
  3. Though even if dining is not a number one reason, there are several others that make the retreat reason for selecting.
  4. Was the same on the Summit, as much as you want, never charged extra.
  5. Not what you mean by No? Anyone at all can dine at the specialty restaurants, anyone. If one is in a royal suite or above though, the cost is already included, others must pay to dine there.
  6. Anyone can eat at a specialty, if in a royal suite or above the cost is included, otherwise you pay for it. Luminae in my experience is fantastic and they will always have something that appeals to most, just ask.
  7. I'm on that Apex TA sailing as well. Have done the TA on Edge which we loved!
  8. My TA advises to wait at least one year before booking on a brand new ship, especially in a new class.
  9. I was on the Summit for 9 days in Dec. and had a fantastic butler, (Ronnie) who was very visible and available in all of the suites that he was responsibe for. My room steward (Brian) was the absolute best I have ever had.
  10. It's not just the cruise industry that does this, it's a pretty common business practice in many others as well.
  11. Because they don't understand engineering and construction. Similiar to an office building, the support joints move, like scissors, by design to withstand high winds and in a ships case, combined with rough seas.
  12. Wouldn't hurt to at least make call, you just never know. Good luck!
  13. Well I'm not a Celebrity veteran, and I'm not 50, I am 64. I have been on two Celebrity cruises, Oct. 2022 an Edge transatlantic and in Dec. 2023 Summit, B2B, Mexico and Bahamas. For comparison I have also been on NCL and Oceania, would not either of them again. I loved both of my cruises and both ships were very nice, I did like the Edge better because of the Retreat, and now I will only sail on the e-class going forward. They had in common great food, AMAZING service, my room steward and butler on Summit set a high bar. Edge entertainment throughout the ship was hands down better and more diverse and I think a higher caliber. The retreat on Summit would have been nicer IF I had never been on Edge. I only sail once/year and am next going on a transatlantic on Apex.
  14. I cannot tell if this is meant to be funny or not? If not, are you truly considering cancelling a vacation because there is not a foot stool on the balcony?
  15. I'm relatively new to Celebrity, first cruise was in 2022, but I'm not younger than 50. Happy to give my thoughts, but don't want to skew your demographic information request.
  16. No apology needed. I wasn't totally clear. What t I will ask is if there is way to substitute the premium part that includes alcohol, with something that does not include alcohol, i.e. some version that has all the premium coffees, sparkling waters etc, which I do make great use and frequent use of. I'm not expect a discount on the cruise at all, was just wondring if they may do something on the alcohol package. And yes, in addition I will ask that they remove the alcohol from the room mini-bar. At then end of the day it's definitely not a deal breaker if they don't do this, I'll understandm but just figured there is no harm in asking. I'll post an update when I have additional info. Thank you
  17. Appreciate your kind words, thank you! My Dr. would definitely provide anything required in writing. I will mention that to Celebrity when I call them.
  18. THANK YOU! Also thanks for the FAQ information, that is so helpful. Appreciate your response. I will definitely call them on Monday.
  19. Allow a reduction if not included? Specifically, I do not drink alcohol at all. I'm a recovering alcoholic, happily sober for almost 5 years, YAY me! Ill be in Retreat upper suite and I do make super duper use of the Al Bacio and Perrier/San Pellegrino part of the package. I've sailed in Retret twice and never thoguht to ask it because I just accepted it as it is what it is. Anyway, I have not contacted Celebrity to ask yet but just wondered if anyone has ever heard of them making exceptions? I do realize it's not like I'd have Dr. note or anything, but it never hurts to ask.
  20. Wow, what a great review. Love your writing style, you should submit this to to Conde Nast!
  21. Not understanding why you are nervous about it? If you are not flying until 3:30 you're going to have plenty of time to get to the airport and you'll not be rushing at all.
  22. This review is so spot on! I was on Summit for the first time, Dec. 2023 and it was FANTASTIC! I ate in Luminae every night with Kurt as my waiter, the food was great and Kurt was amazing 5 stars! I had Brian as the room steward and Ronnie as the butler, again, service was impeccable, great guys. I'd not hesitate to sail on her again, but only if they offer more interesting itineraries.
  23. I have sailed Oceania a few times, on the Riviera before it was refurbished. It was a very nice ship, food was good as was the service, but the type of passenger (certainly not all, but more than I liked) carry on like they are "special". Also the entertainment was just not all that. Started sailing with Celebrity in the Retreat are, a few years ago and it hits all the buttons for me, the service is stellar!
  24. What ship will you be on? When I was on the edge, special dining was included and they were all great. Recently on Summit and special dining was included but def not worth it in my opinion, Luminae was fantastic.
  25. Just curious as to why the need to bring your own water on board?
