  1. Regent (and NCLH for Oceania and NCL) should create an online program where you put in your cities and dates for your cruise, and it gives you the Offered flights and flights with cost differential. Similar to google flights you could select which airline/program as well as duration, departure, arrival, number of stops as filters. Problem solved. Agents would be needed for exceptions, flight changes, schedule changes.
  2. Regent got in a pickle when air prices went up and capacity decreased. The air credit is a joke compared to what it costs now and they are contractually bound by their lack of planning. So they are trying to force people in to booking their own air, at a much higher cost than their credit because they are hemorrhaging trying to find air contracts for what their credit is. They screwed up and are now trying to make their customers pay. This will cost them and the brand they worked hard to get. Reminds me of coach selling their branded products without the same quality at outlet malls. the included biz air was a big plus but now it is not and if you make me get my own I’ll definitely look at silverseas seaborn and others as regent decided to offer rotten apples to apples.
  3. I wonder if they are charging travel agents to make the call ?
  4. Agree, Horrible customer service - and if they offer you some crappy flights you still have to pay the $75. What next a $75 charge to make a cruise booking?
  5. all are Schengen countries so should be treated as domestic EU. You should do the passport clearance in Paris or where you arrived in Schengen zone.
  6. Just catching up on this topic As far as the Camo formal outfit, it does meet the requirements but not in the best taste, but then look at what shows up at the Oscars... and if you go to LA NYC or any big city you will see some very loud suits and odd outfits they call "fashion." As far as the robes I cut smokers some slack if they want to have their first smoke in the morning or late at night...would you rather have them smoke on their balcony. Otherwise, regent should put a smoking room on every floor.
  7. We did find a pair of earrings in Sydney not the best quality picture but they were very nice .
  8. Hopefully the Chair hogs that got busted won't be sailing regent anymore. Eventually passengers will be trained as long as regent is consistent in enforcing its rule.
  9. I can say they were on explorer and splendor. Haven't been on the others.
  10. For Bingo, just go to the lounge and purchase a card or two usually on sea days. They also have a Hennesey tasting and a Macallan tasting as well.
  11. Agreed, but laws/rules are put in place for the worst people in a society. If everyone followed the golden rule we wouldn't need laws or jails.
  12. Curious to what the P/L looks like for each unit. Regent may be turning a profit and may not need to cut whereas NCL may have a bigger cost cutting issue. So, the impact may not be as great on Regent just have to wait and see.
  13. there is also a priority pass lounge, some early check-in for some airlines and luggage storage in the Jewel at Changi as well.
  14. They had crab cakes at p7 in February on Explorer and they had them at a restaurant in singapore
  15. The survey can be submitted on the last day of the cruise. If you don't complain then you might experience the same butler again who hasn't had additional training coaching from management. If he/she doesn't meet the standards of regent, then he/she most likely will not have their contract renewed. That is how the system works to weed out the bad eggs and reward the good ones.
  16. Of course but as pappaF said the survey is there for corrective action as well. The specifically have the butler electronic survey separate at the end of the cruise. They also have the mid cruise review to fill out. I get some folks don't like confrontation, so the survey is an easy way to do it.
  17. I hope you filled out the butler survey and expressed your dismay.
  18. If I recall our butler said he handled 12 PH suites.
  19. Companies may need to keep their ships in that region year-round. Might be a good use for navigator just sail NZ NOV-APR and then Northern Australia Indonesia and the pacific islands the rest of the year. Smaller easier hull to clean also. Larger companies with more ships might better be able to do this.
  20. From what I am reading it appears the NZ govt. put in a program (like many governments do) without clear procedures for approval. The fact that there are no approved companies is a big red flag and allow the cleaning management to be done by the vessel and then subject to some other inspection is doomed to failure. In US states that require car inspections, it is done by an inspection station approved by the state government many of these are done by repair shops and dealers bring the car to the standards for inspection. Why hasn't the Govt of NZ set that up with certified companies? Seems like the NZ process is a prime ground for corruption.
  21. too late to edit my post, but I could also see them partnering with a booking engine like pick your guide or viator. where Regent has its own site and you can book your independent guide or tour and receive a discount(credit.) They could probably make money on it if they roll it out to Oceania and NCL for "approved independent tours" and capture some of the commission these sites get.
  22. I think they need to upgrade the excursion experience to match the regent experience. more small group options for a premium. More alternatives like some “city cards” that are on your own but include transport to the center of town and flexible ticket options choose 2 activities for example aquarium tickets and a museum or zoo and botanical gardens and a day ticket on the bus/metro system…..call it regent your way.
