  1. Doesn't have to be Acropolis view, but DW still smokes, so for the before bed and morning smokes it helps.
  2. just curious if anyone knows what rooms have a balcony or french balcony. I only see one in the room descriptions but from the picture it seems that are many.
  3. I'm surprised there weren't any better options without an upcharge.
  4. Maybe Alissa Heinerscheid found a job at SS.
  5. Most sushi is pre-frozen EU has similar code: From Page 89 of the FDA Food code: Freezing 3-402.11 Parasite Destruction. 6. They should be fired on the spot.
  7. Has anyone upgraded their pre-cruise hotel room booked with SS? If so did you do it through SS or work directly with the hotel. Looking at Grand Bretagne hotel in Athens would like a balcony room.
  8. yes they do include excursion - but not laundry, but I figured I could do a lot of laundry with 1000 obc in addition to the 500 amex credit. Also includes transfer from home to airport and back even if you don't book air.
  9. Regents air credit is 2600pp compared to Silverseas 3900pp. 10 day F2 granduer runs 27698 w/air and 22,498 w/o compared to SS moon 11 day Sup ver. 24175 w/air and 16380 w/o. I'm booked on the granduer in a PHB, but will probably book the moon and use AA miles for the air. Granted I lose the more spacious PH and a night of hotel but the savings is significant especially when I can use my own air. Regent just doesn't give you that break on the air compared to SS as it seems to be built into the price. I also compared our south Africa trips and found because of the Business air and pre cruise package, regent seemed a better value.
  10. I was on explorer in AUS/NZ they had a table with sign by the pool bar and they put the stuff there. Wasn't an issue on our Dawn cruise to Norway but I could see it being an issue on our upcoming moon in greece. Truely hope SS management institutes (and enforces) a similar policy.
  11. Depending on the location I will tip for outstanding guides. You should post on the destination pages for turkey. If we do tip on say the bus tours it will be 5 to 10 bucks depending on what guide did. I tried to tip the baggage porter in Auckland and a taxi driver in Stockholm and the wouldn’t accept it.
  12. You can go into the "my booking" section of whatever airline you are on and add it to the passenger information. Just need the booking reference for that airline which should be on your itinerary. Much faster than calling regent imhop. depending on the airline and any status you may have you can change seats if you like as well.
  13. How does SS air work? I am familiar with regent air. Can you request certain airlines and how far out do they book? If I am going from DFW to ATH(ens) do they put you up in a hotel the night before or do you arrive day of cruise? Is there an option to arrive a couple days earlies or leave later?
  14. From what I have read on Flyertalk, KLM and AF have a Business Lite with no checked bag. If that is what regent booked, it certainly is not Business class as advertised. I'm having my TA contact them to get to the bottom of the situation. Either regent needs to book a business fare on AF, book a business fare on another airline or prepay for a checked bag for each person. Basic economy is not economy, business lite is not business class.
  15. Not my choice either regent air 😬 but at least we in 2E for arrival and departure with no immigration.
  16. Regent air booked us Air France DFW CDG TLV business class the whole way. I looked at "my booking" on AF site and it shows 2 personal 4 hand carry and 1 checked bag for DW and I (I have skymiles elite status) our friends who only show 2 personal and 4 hand carry and 0 checked. I thought you got 1 checked bag in business class per AF site rules? Is this something to do with Regent air fare? Anyone have any experience or insight? Our return is delta and no issues with bags there.
  17. They may have if they do the pool deck dinner - the did on explorer. I must say I really did like that on our Silversea cruise you could get it at kaiseki for lunch every day and it was very good, and they had Japanese beer to boot. They also had on buffet.
  18. Looks like the guy on the ground was pretty young for regent, appeared to be European (voyager is in the aegean) and probably had too much based on his noises. The guy in blue said "he hit 3 men already" so they were probably restraining him until security got there. May have happened in lounge or casino. I'm sure he is no longer on the ship. Not sure about the guys holding him down. If the young guy was out of control, then restraining him was probably the best course of action. I'm surprised security wasn't already there as some staff should have picked up the phone a called the alarm. Interesting if we hear from anyone on the ship. Just my view with what we can tell from the video.
  19. I did find the most of the taxi companies such as DAN taxi have apps which function similar to Uber and I used to pre book airport transport. Would have been a good tool to have getting off ship.
  20. We have had magnificent weather and the Copenhagen card is great. hallasam you were right, our plans were ambitious but we enjoyed Rosenborg the canal boats and ruins under the castle the first day with plenty of stops for a carlsborg drafts and lunch along the route. Took the train to Roskilde today and it was a magnificent town ship museum, Kirke(amazing like Westminster) and the museum with time for a nice beer and tartar at the brew house on the pedestrian zone. Train was fine on way back with a couple of carlsborg sent route (much cheaper at the 7 eleven) thanks for the tips
  21. I must say the taxi drivers were underwhelming . Took 20 minutes for a taxi to arrive and we were first in a line of 20 groups. You would think they would know the cruise schedules. Bring back Uber ! Even the local that was helping to people said they miss Uber.
  22. The tank museum is outstanding if you like history you have a good amount of free time to linger there .
  23. Heater are working but I don’t find them very effective vs. the larger heaters on regent. Even with them on it was too cold in the grill for dinner even with the area closed off with plastic curtains.
