  1. We sailed Celebrity several times pre-covid in our late 40's to early 50's. We always stayed in a celebrity suite or sky suite and enjoyed the personal attention in Luminae. The prices started rising and I looked at Regent as a comparison and it was comparable in price all-in with Business air and shore-excursions so we gave it a whirl. We found that personal attention was everywhere, and the lack of crowds and space were wonderful on regent. The shows on Celebrity might have been a little better than regent but some of the special regional acts regent brings are first class. So I don't think you would be disappointed with Regent. I have not sailed Oceania as I think regent is a better value for us.
  2. They do give you a separate BTB discount listed as BONUS savings in addition to other such as OBC, SS savings....
  3. They give you an air credit for the two segments not needed as well has hotel credit if concierge and above. They will also apply a special savings discount for B2B on each segment.
  4. Top Floor Junior Suite with panoramic Lagoon view Terrace Had to use the deposit I had from the covid days they have been very gracious letting me carry it.
  5. Just echoing what rcandkc and Jim Avery posted, we were supposed to go on voyager this October to Venice. Regent made some excuse that voyager needed drydock and changed and shortened the itinerary ending in Rome. They gave a good discount on the fare to stay booked and with 4 days shorter. As others had said we will stay in Rome at the Cavalieri 5nights, hit Florence for 3 nights and then frecciarosa high speed train to Venice and the Londra palace has arranged a private pickup for our group of 4. Then on to Milan for a few days before we fly back (regent air) Probably a better way to see Italy though the packing and unpacking is a bit of a hassel, but avoiding long shore-ex bus rides to Rome and Florence is a good offset.
  6. On our trip that stopped in Komodo, Lombok and Bali 3 customs official stayed onboard. Dw smokes so she saw them in the smoking lounge often . I believe they stayed on until the ship left Indonesia some 3 days after we departed the ship.
  7. sure beats going through immigration or like the old days when you had to form a train through the dining room to pass immigration. Less stamps too. I'll take it anyway. I keep a photo of mine on my iphone in case there is ever an issue on shore.
  8. It depends on the location whether I tip and if they did something special or was enthusiastic ….usually 10-20 bucks I assume the guide and driver share. Some trip where the bus is just transport to another venue with a different guide, not so often or as much.
  9. You trying to catch the AA79 at noon to Dallas? I would err for the 450 PM one and take the ship tour to Stonehenge or Windsor, or stay on board and enjoy breakfast and depart the ship at 9:00 am. Depending on the time of year Heathrow can get very busy and stressful even on a good day.
  10. Very tight not much room for error. If you get off the ship at 7 am go through immigration and meet a ride at 730am. Depending on what day of the week AM traffic could be bad 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. depending on what terminal and that is if there are no accidents or heavy traffic. There earliest you probably would arrive is 9AM which is 3 hrs before. Personally, I wouldn't do it. I'd rather get their too early and spend time in the lounge vs. stressing the whole ride there.
  11. I usually check often at least weekly to make sure of time changes, equipment changes and seats...
  12. Was an amazing amount of bicycles with their own lanes and traffic signals. Even have huge bike parking lots outside ped zones and by subway and train stations. Many don't even lock their bicycles up... talk about safe.
  13. Put us on delta MXP-ATL-DFW. Called yesterday about a flight change for Nov 8th our connection in Atlanta went from 2 hrs to 1 hr 25 min (the min connection time) so we kept it. Have global entry and not worried if bags don't make it on time as we are heading back from trip.
  14. Not so much hot as humid. Rarely goes above 86 on the coast. Best drinking lots of water as you will perspire. A little cooler dec- mar.
  15. Spice farm is great if offered and you like plants. Monkey river can be interesting depending on what wildlife decides to show up. We live here most of the year about 45 minutes north of Placencia.
  16. Is there an email to request special items onboard? Silverseas had one we emailed to request Red Bull. On our previous two regent cruises we filledout the butler request form on our previous cruise but still had to remind butler and they found it onboard. Just wonder since we are departing Israel and not sure if it is readily available there.
  17. We had the Koala Discovery Tour | Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Booked ... a behind the scenes 60 minute tour and holding a koala. unfortunately our cruise line, Regent, changed our port to Mooloolaba and we had to cancel. They nicely gave me a gift card since there are no refunds however not sure we would be able to get back down under to use it. If anyone interested, I'd sell it for 100 USD. The gift card is 300 AUD and good until august 24th 2026.
  18. guess they started early can't access find your cruise GLOBAL ALERT:We will be performing maintenance to our reservations system on Saturday, August 26, 2023 between 7:00PM and 11:00PM EST. During this time you may not be able to access reservation information in My Account or use Plan My Cruise. Thank you for your patience while we perform this brief maintenance.
  19. If anyone is going to Rosenborg castle you should prebook your time slot in advance as they are limited. We spent 3 nights in Copenhagen and wish we had more time. The train to Roskilde was easy and the domkirke and Viking ship museum were fabulous. https://roskildedomkirke.dk/english/ https://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/
  20. Learn something new everyday and not just about cruising. Thanks just bought a 3 pack of data blockers on Amazon for a few bucks!

  22. Yes we used it dfw to Auckland. We tried coming back from Bali to book out of Singapore but they said it was another continent so we used aa miles and received the air credit
  23. We flew in on American t3 and it went smoothly a bit of a walk but immigration was quick and luggage not to bad. We booked air and hotel in Southampton on own and met our driver and off we went traffic around Heathrow was a mess but past that all good.
  24. Kohunlich Mayan Ruins is famous for its temple of masks but other than that they are similar. Personally I wouldn't want all the extra time on the bus. (I live in Belize, most of the year and if you have seen one, you've seen them all! Just my opinion, having been to many.)
