  1. I booked a couple nights in Athens hotel just in case they change it. Not sure how regent is going to handle the air changes and the pre cruise. Hope we keep our Wednesday departure to Paris probably stay a night there. tough on regent trying to sort all this out on short notices.
  2. They would have to change the turnaround port to a place with a reasonable airport that has enough flight capacity. I don’t think Cyprus can meet that need. Many probably have flights connecting in and out of Europe. If they still deem Egypt safe they might be able to try to change there or go for Athens. Either way a logistics mess. If some not on regent air I hope they have insurance.
  3. Friend who works with NSA said you don’t go to Israel. Under any circumstances. Sounds like this may escalate with hezbollah or Israel will retaliate against Iran.
  4. I'm quoting what our Israeli friend said.
  5. We have a friend that lives there and she said they are used to this. Israel isn't going to shut the country down. There will probably be extra security measure on the pre cruise tour and some places may be short staffed due to the reserve call-up. This just happened this morning and I'm sure regent is aware but the ship won't arrive until the 14th. Regent will asses and address if it escalates and find an alternate port if Haifa is unavailable. We are scheduled to fly to Tel Aviv Wednesday this week.
  6. I believe it still is just ask the future cruise consultant on board. We are on the pre cruise leave Wednesday
  7. The certificate is also 100% refundable if you don't use it in a year.
  8. Don’t remember but on another thread I posted the onboard booking certificate you can get on a future booking 1000 depositing plus obc and then your TA can apply to booking they book for you. Flying out tomorrow to Texas visit the kids and Gks for a few days and off to Israel to board the voyager !
  9. I checked in mine in the morning. I don’t think it matters like the dining since it doesn’t matter when you check it …. Not like Southwest Airlines don’t get to board first

  11. We saw a show in celebrity several years ago and a similar show on NCL many years ago that was similar to cirque du soleil type show. Was really different and enjoyable couple music with the dance/acrobatics. Would love to see something like that on regent or SS
  12. I'd echo that on SS dawn it still not superfast. It was bad or unavailable in some ports and some Fjords but it was much better than what I experienced on Splendor and Explorer.
  13. E ticket number or booking reference ? The latter should be on your flight itinerary.
  14. We are going on her for the first-time next month Oct 15th. We have been on splendor explorer and silver dawn recently. I let you know.
  15. You might take a look at cole hahn zerogrand shoes - super comfy for a shoreex with jeans yet can wear with a jacket and tie at night.
  16. Check your ticket or you might be going to Kentucky CCA vs FRA. 😉
  17. I believe they will tell you if there is a special themed lunch buffet at the pool grill. (e.g. german or mexican items)
  18. If you read my posts I did do my research however as stated the akl nz airport was horrible and I had no time to go exchange cash. I was with the driver at that point I came out of customs and he even said no problem if I tip in dollars as he didn’t want to wait either. (I later did in town so I didn’t have to offend anyone. No harm no foul!
  19. You can Google tipping guides in most places. Some places it is not expected and in some like Australia it is frowned upon but some Americans still tipped even though the guide was nothing special. But if a guide goes out of their way 5-10 extra is a nice gesture. Some places like Stockholm the taxi driver refused a tip. In countries like israel and Egypt (ports on our next cruise) usd or euros are gladly accepted. Just depends and worth looking up prior.
  20. Second the fairmont pacific rim. Great stay great views across street from port. The raw bar in the lobby had amazing sushi.
  21. I booked the trip on Viator so prepaid. No place to add tip. He was excellent and waited for us as baggage claim and customs was how do I say it…. Snafu. If you’re not familiar with the term(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snafu) anyway he was good and I tipped him well. Well enough I’m sure the currency exchange was not an issue for him. He probably saves his tips and exchanged at one time to get a better rate. I did my research and aware tipping not required but he did and extraordinary job.
  22. Poster may not be that well-traveled for instance in Israel and Egypt guides graciously accept tips in USD or Euros. That is why there were asking because many countries do. I tipped my driver from the Auckland airport in USD as I had no time to get NZD given what a mess it was. He had no issues.
  23. I have found that the events are on the overnights in port when the have a spectacular pool deck buffet. The first sea day they usually have beef Wellington and lobster Thermidor in compass rose.
  24. Unless you are going commando you might pack a few pair….😏
