  1. The benefit depends on cruise length and starts at 100 obc per suite.
  2. The photo is pretty much what value is it to you. The behind the scenes encounter we did at Australia zoo was awesome and well worth it. We had it booked at lone pine but had to cancel due to the port change we had on regent explorer.
  3. I have submitted 18 months out and they were applied. I think is you have a booking and the stock you can apply.
  4. Story of the whole economy and choices that were made in 2020.
  5. We are on that cruise but doing the 3 day pre cruise. I hadn’t planned on exchanging into scheckle but instead tipping in dollars . I’ll get some euros when we get to Crete and we are in Italy for 14 days after so no issue getting euros. decent article on tipping in Israel and indicated that the service industry accepts euros dollars and others. https://slavaguide.com/blog/tipping-in-israel-information
  6. Could look at viator or get your guide and book an excursion there. Many are cancellable with no penalty 24 hrs before. Then waitlist on regent and if it clears cancel the viator one. You should definitely speak with the Shorex desk on day 1 and see what they can do.
  7. On splendor I would sit at the front right side terrace. David Nevin would come in that way to introduce acts so I would chat with him more show. He also personally responded to my mid cruise review card with some suggestions I had. So on regent ships you will see them offer trivia is another example and all have been friendly and approachable with me. So have many of the performers and even guest performers in the bars. While slightly off topic the other officers are also engaging and friendly. I found this to be quite the opposite on silversea, where they are mostly standoffish and hidden except maybe the cruise Director. Not sure if those are corporate cultures or directives but I did notice the difference.
  8. Is the discount comparable with other offers like on board savings, society savings 2 cat upgrades? I assume it applies to cruise portion not the air.
  9. It is supposed to keep people from knowing what the protocol is so the evil ones can avoid it. It is not absolute: if one way (or turkey), then automatic SSSS. Those are just some factors that probably put you in a more likely pool to be selected.
  10. There are several possible triggers one ways, certain countries visited in the past(e.g. turkey) but it can be a pain and I wonder what crazy protocols they use that an old guy like me with global entry triggers ssss
  11. the segments they booked for us do not seem to be airline or alliance dependent. Since they have so many itineraries that are open jaw - their contract is probably not tied to RT flights. Just empirical evidence - I'm sure others in the industry can add.
  12. Thanks - good to know. It isn't that important I'm sure whoever is on board will be good, don't want to bother Regent with a trivial issue like that as the are probably handing more urgent issues.
  13. I had a similar situation. I think the renewal goes fairly quickly but could take 6 months if you require an interview. DW and I got our renewal in a couple of days.
  14. If I recall they had something online on silverseas not sure it was an ap but it was nice to see what is on the dinner menus without having to go to the room or what activities are going on if you forgot the hard copy. Not as a substitute but as a supplement it is nice. Comes in handy on the excursion bus ride back especially if the guide is getting boring.
  15. Anyone recently on voyager ? Wondering who the cruise director is. We embark Oct 15th.
  16. We spent a couple of nights in Seward. Small town Edgewater hotel was nothing to write home about but it had a balcony with direct view of the Bay. We did a whale/bird/glacier tour that was fabulous and got right up to calving glacier you could hear it creaking and the seals were floating on the ice pieces. Also went to the SeaLife aquarium and did the behind-the-scenes puffin feeding which was fun and a couple blocks from the hotel.
  17. the worst is when you get the dreaded "SSSS" instead of TSA Precheck. Happens with one way tickets.
  18. Milan is worthy of a few days on its own and you can always do a day trip to lake Como. Turin is also a beautiful city. The Frecciarosa takes just over 3 hrs fro roma termini and under an hour on the frecciabianca from the port to Rome so with connection under 5 hrs for about $110 pp. So basically, you can be in milan by 2 pm, much easier IMHOP than getting to airport 2 hrs prior and another ride into milan from Malpensa or Linate.
  19. We tried the massages dw and I and they were decent but extremely pricey. Facilities were nice. We are spoiled we have a lady that comes to our house down here with her own table heated and very nice. She charges 35 bucks usd for a 1 hr deep tissue 30 for a scrub and 33 for and hour reflexology and she is really good. Plus tip of course. First thing we do when we get back from our trip! Hard to justify the ship prices.
  20. I just looked it up 4 days 3 nights Price: $6,399 per guest based on double occupancy. may not be the same cruise but has the same post cruise lake como tour scroll to post cruise https://www.rssc.com/cruises/VOY240915/summary?source=CruiseSearch&r=EURMD&m=2024-8_2024-9&dp=CIV# I don’t think our 14 night trip is much more with meals tours nice hotels and transport
  21. Depends on if you have seen other parts of Italy except this. Might be easier and cheaper to book something on your own. The frecciarossa high speed trains are very nice in business class. Italy has lots of tours you can book in the cities with Viator or get your guide. Lots of small good dining at inexpensive prices just check trip advisor. Just decide where you want to go Florence Venice Milan Genoa or spend some time in Rome if you haven’t already . We planned a 14 night post cruise Rome Florence Venice and Milan in Oct/Nov. Lake como is beautiful but so are many places in Italy. Do a little browsing on pricing something on your own and watch some Rick Steve’s videos and decide what you prefer and compare prices. You can do a deviation and fly out of Milan, Florence, Venice if you choose. Just my opinion, and I do like to plan trips.
  22. Just an FYI you can get a future cruise voucher on board for $1000USD which lets you book a future cruise and still get the OBS benefits. It also serves as your $1000 deposit. It is good for a year to book a future cruise and is refundable.
  23. No, we haven't but what is question about it?
  24. We had cruise leaving Jan 2nd we flew to San Jaun the night before. Our Daughter in law (DIL) (age 21) was staying at our house (DS in Air Force) My Daughter (DD) was also there. DIL decides to go out to a bar on Jan 1st, taking DW's brand new BMW convertible. DD (18) gets call at 2 am from DIL that she is in jail (DUI). DD doesn't know what to do with a 1 year old overnight. We get call at 230 am. Of course, it is a weekend, so no judge until Monday. DS on deployment. I call my good friend and he has DWI lawyer friend. His wife goes and help DD with grandson. My buddy calls next morning and says lawyer could get her out on bail and asks do you want me to bail her out today (Sunday) or wait until Monday this as we are in a taxi to the ship. Time for tough love and Monday it was she needed another night to ponder her mistake. Meanwhile car is in impound lot. Nice to have good friends who step into help but needless to say it was a very rough start to the cruise.
