  1. I was just looking at the schedule and it looks like they changed the departure time in port said to 7PM Ours and another excursion are over 13 hrs long. How are they going to fit that in a from 6 am to 7 pm? POS-002 PYRAMIDS, MEMPHIS AND SAKKARA Duration: 13.50 Hrs Date: Tour Price: $159.00 October 18, 2023 06:30 AM Retail Price: $309.0 POS-006 CAIRO & CRUISING ON THE NILE RIVER Duration: 13.25 Hrs Date: Tour Price: $179.00 October 18, 2023 06:30 AM Retail Price: $339.00 ....and they are charging extra for it so if they shorten it do we get a refund I guess they don't think these things through very well.
  2. we did the dawn in early June this past summer. Southhampton to Copenhagen. We stopped at both ports and were very fortunate we didn't get any rain and was mostly sunny. In gerainger we did that later tour" PANORAMIC MT. DALSNIBBA & EAGLE ROAD" a bus ride with several scenic stops and time at the top of the mountain to shop and see the beautiful scenery. There was still 3-6 ft deep snow fields and frozen lakes up high. Some of the hairpin turns were a little scary in the big bus but the driver has done it so many times I suppose he could almost do it in his sleep. We did the Flam railway, and it was equally spectacular. At myrdal they have a stop at the waterfall a ballet company that performed to music the myth of the sirens there. On the way up I was so mesmerized by the waterfall itself that I didn't see the performers. On the stop on the way down I did and it was very well down.
  3. that is a good improvement. Now if we can only have an online air selection like google flights. Enter booking, deviation date if needed, preferred alliance or carriers and poof you have your options with any upcharges, as well as an no upcharge alternative if needed. If you have a more complex deviation, you could submit it or require a call. That would be nirvana!
  4. I must say silversea website is much easier as you can do this online and you can book spa online as well. Wish regent would get there.
  5. It should be like when airlines change the flight schedule more that a certain amount you can cancel and get a full refund. While I understand their desire to same money, they set the times when we booked so any significant change should be fully refundable, especially if it impacts shore excursions.
  6. what time do you have to leave the cabin?
  7. I hope they roll it out to the moon for our summer Greece cruise. On the dawn this past June it was very hot when we were in atlantide on formal night most were taking off their jackets it was that hot and we were in Scandinavia!
  8. Oldest 31 (USAFA grad) just started at southwest 6 months ago. Younger one is 21 still building hours and should have commercial in a couple months. It’s a grind but worth it with the new contracts.
  9. Thanks, sounds like regent has thought this through and come up with options.
  10. Hoping it does stay open! looking forward to meeting you. Both my son's are pilots.
  11. I agree we are traveling with another couple so wanted to at least have dinner with them. not sure there is enough room in a voyager PH-A. I know we could have done it on splendor and explorer.
  12. I heard you can get room service anywhere - can you order to the pool grill area in the evening ?
  13. On Voyager in October stopping in port said and cairo two days. Have some long shore excursions those days 13 1/2 and 12 1/2 hrs. I know we will be tired and dusty and by the time we shower we aren't going to want to get fancied up. Is there anywhere on board to eat besides room service where we can go casual? Will the pool grill be open?
  14. too late to edit - you may see alot of not available to Asia and in the spring to japan the rates are 300-400 k one way and the partner airlines don't release much inventory until closer in.
  15. 330 days out is when you can book. Where are you looking at. I found some nice ones to Athens and back in june.
  16. it was great without luggage just look up the track and with the Copenhagen card get on the train!
  17. We stayed there it is very convenient to the station. Actually you can proceed from your train away from the station and take the stairs or lift depending on the track just depend on what car you are on. the Viking ship museum and the Domkirke in Roskilde (think Westminster Abbey of DK) were very nice places to see. As far as lunches we enjoyed sitting at the outdoor beer gardens in the large squares in the pedestrian areas.
  18. If I recall they had a form you fill out onboard and the ship does it for you. This was in feb '23
  19. I usually research my own stuff and half the time have to explain it to my TA (e.g., on board booking benefits.) I would book directly if I would get the same OBC and Perks that I get through the TA. If the Cruise line would offer that I'd probably just book online. However, the cruise consultants from SS don't always know the answers either or provide wrong answers. My TA does provide a service when i want to change something like a cabin number and I don't have the ability to do that without calling.
  20. We booked the GB hotel in Athens though Silverseas. Our booking includes transfer to the pier from the hotel. Just curious what time those transfer plan to arrive at pier and if known from anyone's experience when it departs hotel and does it include and sightseeing other than along the route. Thanks
  21. True but what I am saying is the air credit they give comes no where close to what you have to pay whereas SS air credit and not booking their air does and their non air based cruise is significantly cheaper in some cases.
  22. From what I have observed it seems to Depend on the route. If I can use miles I'm seeing Silversea as a better deal, but some routes like A/NZ or South Africa it is a little harder. What SS is charging for Biz is pretty transparent. Perhaps regent get's better pricing but I suspect their contracts fall in with NCLH deal and likewise SS in with RCL. But I'm no expert on this, it is just what I observed in the comparison analysis of done.
  23. Based on what I have seen for Silversea's vs Regent's pricing.
  24. I get it. I think part of regent strategy is to dissuade people from taking the air and getting the air credit. That way they make a lot more on the cruise since they built in most of air cost in the price not the air credit.
  25. just saying there are lots of Nonstops to west coast, Denver DFW.... with one world connections on AA that probably would have been in first. Or alternate days - saving 2K would easily pay for a hotel for a couple of nights even in tokyo.
