  1. Hi Colleen, Thank you for your kind words. Wow. Sincerelt, Steve Dasseos PS - Did you know I got healed from Long Covid 5 months ago? I wrote about it on my Blog in April: https://tripinsurancestore.com/blog/steves-long-covid-breakthrough/ I've heard from dozens of people that what I did is helping them, too.
  2. Hi vmom, I'm sorry to hear about your cruise companion's husband's cancer. I hope he gets the best care and recovers quickly. As klfrodo & Babr have said, it's best if your cruise companion is not a "no-show". Steve Dasseos
  3. Hi Bob, Thanks for explaining this about your Advantage plan. I've never heard of an Advantage plan with the combined $50.000 lifetime plan coverage, so this must be a newer addition to the wide range of coverages. > Did you ever find a company you liked for an annual policy? I haven't found an Annual Trip Cancellation plan that is good enough for me to sell due to their plan limitations with what's needed to cover the changes in travel since Covid started. If you want good medical and medical transportation coverage, I suggest you get the Geo Blue Trekker (Multi-Trip) Essential or Choice plan for your trips outside the USA that aren't longer than 70 days for any one trip. The Essential and Choice plans cover pre-existing conditions. You may see all the Geo Blue Trekker plan details here: https://tripinsurancestore.com/geo-blue-trekker-travel-medical-plans/ Steve Dasseos
  4. Hi Peteymil, I've written about this in more detail on some of the other 7 Questions & Answers I've done here on CruiseCritic, but here are the basics: In 2003 I was the 9th largest seller of Allianz's predecessor company Access America. Allianz bought them in 2012 and they are still located in Richmond, VA with the same underwriter. In April 2003 I called Access America with a simple question about a claims procedure on a hypothetical pre-existing conditions claim, but they said "Oh, that won't be covered". I ended up in a 4 month intense discussion with them about their policy wording and interpretations of it. Even though at the end, I was right, I decided I wouldn't want to put anyone else through that so I stopped doing business with them on July 31, 2003. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I suspect they are still mad at me. Steve Dasseos
  5. Hi Fivelinks, I haven't found an Annual Trip Cancellation plan that is good enough for me to sell due to their plan limitations with what's needed to cover the changes in travel since Covid started. Steve Dasseos
  6. Hi Bo, The Berkshire Hathaway plans are good, but I've only sold a handful of their plans since they more than doubled their prices on 12/7/2021. This page might help you make better sense of delays and missed connections: https://tripinsurancestore.com/travel-insurance-trip-delay-and-missed-connection-coverage/ Steve Dasseos
  7. Hi swmichigan, The $50,000 lifetime maximum coverage for outside the USA is on a Medigap (Supplement) plan. Advantage plans have a wide range of non-USA coverage limits If you bought your own Medicare Supplement, here's how it covers you outside the USA https://tripinsurancestore.com/medicare-does-not-cover-you-outside-the-usa/ Steve Dasseos
  8. Hi Forgetmenot2, For most people, it comes down to if they need pre-existing conditions coverage for themselves, a traveling companion or a non-traveling family member. If any of you had any medication changes or had treatment for or been diagnosed with any medical condition that could worsen and, in turn, cause you to cancel or interrupt your trip, or that could cause you to seek treatment on your trip, you don't want to rely on Chase. Steve Dasseos
  9. Hi StarTrainDD, Will you call me at 1-888-407-3854 or email me at steve@tripinsurancestore.com ? I don't want you to put private information on this public forum. I'll write what I told you here afterwards so others can benefit from my advice. Steve Dasseos
  10. Hi Gerry, I agree that what they are doing isn't good. I'd think that there's got to be someone arround to make an update to their website, so I don't know why that simple courtesy hasn't been done. Steve Dasseos
  11. Hi StarTrainDD, Thanks for your business and kind words. As you probaaby know, the GeoBlue Trekker Choice policy doesn't cover trips that are over 70 days in length. I have other plans that will cover you. Do you mainly want medical coverage or a combination of medical anf trip cancellation? Steve Dasseos
  12. Hi Jersey42, Thanks for clarifying this. For the OP, like Jersey42 stated, you probably will have to pay your medical bills yourself while on your trip. That’s because most travel insurance plans are “indemnification” plans (you will be reimbursed – indemnified) after your trip by the insurance company. Travel insurance for the most part is not a “pay on behalf of” plan. In some cases, a few companies can advance payment to the medical facility, but it’s on a case-by-case basis. The only pan I know that will pay directly when you use a medical provider in their network of Foreign Country Providers is Geo Blue (https://tripinsurancestore.com/geo-blue-voyager-travel-medical-plans/). Geo Blue has contracted to accept assignment of claims and direct payments instead of you paying the Foreign Country Provider and submitting a claim for reimbursement. I hope this makes better sense. Steve Dasseos
  13. Hi biggerbearmom, Credit card plans don't cover Pre-existing Medical Conditions coverage for yourselves, traveling companion and non-traveling family members. As long as you don't need Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption due to Pre-existing Medical Conditions coverage for yourselves, traveling companion or non-traveling family members, then you can get a medical plan to cover you on the trip. Steve Dasseos
  14. Hi 0106, I can't say if there's an annual policy that meets your needs, but I haven't found an Annual Trip Cancellation plan that is good enough for me to sell and to sleep peacefully at night. And, if you dealt with us, yes, you'd have to get the per trip plans. Steve Dasseos
  15. Hi 0106, Trip cancellation does mean canceling before the trip began, but trip interruption doesn't require you to retun home after the trip starts. You might be prevented from continuing on your trip for a few days (often due to illness or injury) and flying to catch up to your trip. You'd be reimbursed the unused value of your trip and the cost of one-way transportation. The reason you need a trip cancellation plan is that the trip interruption limits are a multiple of the insured trip cost. Steve Dasseos
  16. Hi Fionboard, Unfortunately, I don't know anything about non-USA travel insurance plans. Steve Dasseos
  17. Hi 0106, I'm not sure what you mean by "I am not a trip cancellation policy.", but if you want trip interruption you will need a trip cancellation policy. Steve Dasseos
  18. Hi 0106, Geo Blue has good Annual Travel Medical Insurance plans (https://tripinsurancestore.com/geo-blue-trekker-travel-medical-plans/), but they aren't available to residents of MD, NY and WA. There are Annual Trip Cancellation plans available, but I haven't found an Annual Trip Cancellation plan that is good enough for me to sell due to their plan limitations with what's needed to cover the changes in travel since Covid started. You also could consider insuring each trip with a single-trip plan in case you don't like the Annual Trip Cancellation plans that are available. Steve Dasseos
  19. Hi CPT Trips, I've read articles about Vantage, too, but I don't know what's really happening. Their website hasn't changed and is still promoting trips. I've called them but they haven't answered the phone. > Do you have any insight into how to obtain insurance reimbursement for these loses? Is this likely to be covered under financial default. What should we look for in our policy coverage documents? You'll want to find out how your policy covers financial default. What exact policy do you have? Steve Dasseos
