  1. According to the cruise ship tracker the CB is near the southern tip of NS and the ship's webcam says that the ship is going to Halifax. It will be interesting to see what they find there after the hurricane.
  2. According to reports on cc from the ship, Princess has canceled three ports: Halifax, Sydney and Bar Harbor and returned the port fees for all three to the pax. The CB seems to be wandering off the coast of MA until it is safe to proceed to QC. Not sure how many ports they will actually stop at before getting to QC. Bummer but a lot safer for all pax and ship.
  3. Personally I have never used the whaky tobacy. It is now legal in a number of states so to expect it not to show up on the ship is wishful thinking. It is easy to sneak aboard and now getting widespread enough that security is not able to stop it. I certainly know the smell and while not pleasant it is is up there with tolerance to cigarette smoke. I don't like either one. I would rather be with some weed tokers than with a bunch of inebriated mostly males. The federal government while having laws prohibiting marijuana is now looking the other way as states allow it openly. Some states and local authorities are doing the same. Our county/city in this bright red state is now issuing tickets to those caught with it and sent on their way to appear in court later to pay a fine. Expect cruise lines like Carnival to join the group.
  4. The long arm of the tax collector always there with his greedy hand out to collect.
  5. We bought some inexpensive reusable plastic tag holders and steel wire to put our tags in and attach to our luggage. They would have to tear the tag loose from the luggage to get it off. Works well using the same ones for several years now. We now take the ship tags out when onboard and put the disembarkation tags in the holders to keep them from being ripped off. 6. The CB was last in drydock in April this year so I would not expect it to happen in the next few years unless something happens to cause it. What we have now is what we get. I don't believe drydock would solve the problem of thoughtless pax flushing contraband down their toilets ever.
  7. Results may vary between ships and/or pizza crew making the pizza.
  8. We were on a 16 day cruise last month on the CB. The captain came on the intercom and said that there was a rise in pax with COVID and asked us to wear masks while inside areas and only to take them off for eating or drinking. Most complied with the request but there were that few who threw caution to the wind. Just wondered how many returned home with the virus. I think think that this is the new situation for the near future. We will be getting our 4th jab tomorrow at Walgreen's..
  9. We were on the CB last month for a 16 day cruise. Mid cruise the captain announced that there was COVID aboard and asked all of us to wear a mask in inside areas. Most complied but we had a few who refused for some reason. Later heard that several came down with the virus.
  10. Our main cruise line is Princess ("the love boat!"). We also have sailed on Carnival and RCL. For those that are not into water parks, roller coasters etc and lot of rug rats running around, Princess is a choice. I have been looking at Celebrity as our next adventure as I have heard a lot of nice comments about it. Seems it is more like Princess, and HAL. Our goal is to spend our IRA before our kids get it.
  11. We sailed out of NYC (actually Red Hook) last month with stops in Canada. We were required to both get the antigen test and to fill out the ARRIVECan ap before we could board. We had a lot of problems with the ARRIVECan ap and a kind ship officer helped us complete it at the terminal. We were not alone with this problem. Interesting is that he had problems as well getting it filled out and approved.
  12. We were on the CB last month for a 16 day cruise staying in an outside cabin deck 9 just in front of the aft elevators. The only problem we had was sometimes the toilet would not flush. We pushed the button several times and nothing. We would wait maybe an hour or so then go back and it flushed like normal. We will be on the CB next month for a 14 day cruise in the same cabin and reading this makes me a bit alarmed. We will see how it plays out. Thanks to the OP for bringing the subject to the forefront. The CB is old and looking tired.
  13. We will be departing from PC in February driving in from Orlando where we will be attending a conference. The Magic sails on Saturday. Where is a good safe and secure parking area somewhat near the port that offers good shuttle service? I have found three but am totally confused since we have never sailed out of this port before. Anyone know where in PC the Magic typically docks at?
  14. On board the CB right now. At the Captain's party they introduced a passenger that just reached 500 days on Princess ships. Not aware of what all they received but imagine that since they introduced them something was provided.
  15. If there is a show that we have not seen or want to see again, we go usually to the "late" show and arrive 45 or so minutes before it starts taking along our eBooks to read. Most of the time we simply skip the shows for the live musicians while enjoying an adult beverage.
  16. I have been trying several times over quite a few of days to enter our info for our upcoming cruise (now 3 days) and have not been able to even get in. I was able to create an account but being elderly forgot the password. It will not let me enter a new password even though it keeps asking for the new passwords. I enter a new password which the ap accepts but then will not recognize it when I try to log in. I even tried deleting the ap and reloading it to no avail. So will Princess let us on the ship without the d#@$%d ap? We understand that Canada will not let us off the ship and we are fine with that.
  17. I have been sailing on cruise ships since 2003. I have never worn a tie around my neck. I did wear a blazer for several years but quit it in the early 2010's. I went from khakis to black jeans several years ago and now for the last few years have simply worn my guayabera shirt with the jeans. I have always worn my athletic shoes. I have been to AK, HI, Mexican Riviera, Caribbean, northern Europe, South America both through the canal and around the horn. I do not intend to change my ways at this late date. Simply ties and coats much less suits are not required.
  18. They do the culinary demo usually on a sea day and the last one of the cruise. They used to have a galley tour after the demonstration but the C19 killed it for now. It sometimes is hilarious depending on the CD and head chef. It is done in the theater with the TV screens on so that you can see what the chef is doing.
  19. They "upgraded" us just before the pandemic and I found out about it when I was routinely checking our reservation. The reservation had been marked "no upgrade" which they later agreed that it was. I called Princess and complained loudly wanting our old cabin back. It took several calls to get them to move it back. Then the pandemic hit, and the cruise was canceled!
  20. Sorry for the earlier posting. I could not find it and thought it did not post. After thinking about this I realized I was in the window to cancel my flights without penalty (more than 45 days before) and so I canceled the original flights and rebooked a new one. The new flights are about the same time as the old one and it was around $50 cheaper! So, I avoided another exasperating morning trying to contact Princess. Hopefully this will all work out in the end. Thanks for the replies.
  21. If you forget to pre-order it just ask the room steward for the distilled water for your Cpap.
  22. I use a 10' extension cord and magnetic hooks to run it over the ceiling from the 120V outlet to my Cpap. Works well so far on several different cruise lines including Princess.
  23. This happened to me on two cruises that I booked last February for next year. I went to the personalizer to verify the details including OBC and noticed that my verteran's OBC was missing. I had to call Princess to get it applied. We take several cruises each year on Princess and have 4 scheduled for next year and it has never happened before. However they quickly added it when I called. I had applied for the veterans credit back when it was first introduced and have received a lot of OBC as a result.
  24. Is premier a new loyalty level at Princess?
