  1. There was a recent thread saying no more champagne from next cruise. Discontinued.
  2. Yes it was the next cruise guy who said miami had to do my obc. Idk maybe because I was solo and come back tomorrow, in 24 hours.
  3. But when I booked at next cruise I booked a regular full rate refundable. Later it was switched to a group rate. Since I booked a regular rate, how would the next cruise guy know it would become a group rate. Sorry I dont understand why the next cruise guy made me come back in 24 hours, miami had to do something.
  4. Idk why the time I booked onboard the guy said I had to wait 24 hours for miami to finalize it. Ken was there or I wouldnt have booked onboard. Only the one booked onboard during bella1.0 for bella2.0. Ken would know why. He said comeback tomorrow.
  5. As ourusualbeach said reduced deposit if you are booking nonrefundable deposits. No lower prices or upgrades. Still I only did it once and a free $75 is a free $75 to spend on me. It's hard for me to be onboard a ship when new cruises are released .. maybe next time. Free obc is enough for me. I dont like those open ended ones where you book later. I'd only do it if I wanted the cruise anyway.
  6. Call me, call me lololol. 2 free JS. Sorry. No never had such a call.
  7. Did you try Fresh where they have fast food type mexican? I dont see it listed. Imo it might be why no taco bar during lunch. I was happy allure last month did a taco bar in WJ on Mexican night. I'll be on harmony in nov, so interested. I'm still debating pay restaurants.
  8. Above for nonrefundable deposits, of course ken is correct. Fyi for refundable full deposit required and a little less obc, around $75 obc instead of the full $100.
  9. Or that is the time when seats mostly come open. Between early and late so cheap o rcl decided to squeeze them in between the 2 set times. I know early is much more popular than late so obviously more want earlier than later .. from my experience. Wanting time to go to the diamond lounge which used to open earlier and they moved imo on purpose to save money and fewer can go snack. Why would early be so much more popular by far than late if your guess wasnt just a guess. Show me a poll, facts, not guesses. I'll quit, post whatever you want, though dont just assume facts. Anytime on rcl stinks. Lots want 530 or 6 pm I assure you they work in. Dont want to argue guesses on sea dogs thread here.
  10. Idk how you decided when most want to eat. I'd like to have time to go to the diamond lounge before I go to dinner. Either open diamond lounge earlier or let me eat 530 ish .. I absolutely dont want to eat after 630. They did that to me and I missed the show and was very mad. I said I'm in a hurry and waiter moved in slow motion. If carnival can do anytime dining well you would think rcl could too. Sea dog wife went to customer service and got it fixed night 2 .. special because she complained. Shouldnt take Linda going to that length.
  11. I wish they would take some lessons from carnival. Everyone on rcl hates carnival and carnival posters hate rcl I get it. On carnival on newest class anytime dining gets some free one time only extra choices. When I want to eat I push a button and they too have a dedicated floor for anytime diners. The computer matches me to a table and I take my app and show it to someone who leads me to a table. For lunch or brunch works better, as there is also a share button. Mostly for dinner others dont want to share but for earlier meals they like to share. So if I push both the button to eat now and the share button, I push 2 buttons while I'm sitting somewhere, not standing in a line. I did 3 carnival after covid then did royal. What a disappointment royal was for anytime where they try and fit people in. If they encouraged anytime they would probably not have so many empty seats at fixed times. Royal is so lame for anytime. Anytime means eat when I want.
  12. As the title says it's a solo discount. 50% off the 2nd pax, which works out to 25% discount overall of the cruisefare. It's a big discount off any cruisefare, except some holidays and some summer dates which can vary.
  13. I saw it of course. . ..he still posted it as IOS. Just because it's been cleared up doesnt mean some posters dont post abbreviations incorrectly as 3 letters etc. .. and assumed like others it was that ship from the price. Not sure why people are acting like posters never post wrong abbreviations. And I too guessed, though I also asked to be sure, just for clarity. It's better to be sure.
  14. My TA also didnt mention june as a black out period, so it's not just the UK. Different people have their own dates from what I see.
  15. I booked wonder onboard thru next cruise and had to wait a extra 24 hours for him to send to miami to get it repriced as DP340. And my obc. I think only rcl can do the repricing. My TA also has to have DP340 repriced.
  16. And a poster above is comparing IOS to wonder. Dont see IOS. Independence or icon?
  17. IOS is Independence ots? Icon? Not sure which ships you are comparing. Last deals for suites I saw were out of new orleans a suite can be booked very reasonable. Older ship if you just wanted a suite. A lot for me depends where you live what ship I'd pick?
  18. They shown the rcl fights on utube too you know. I wouldn't brag about pax behavior on rcl. And of course there isnt a 50% difference between carnival and rcl. You are dreaming. With my discounts rcl is cheaper. I thought it was some older princess ship op was comparing to, not a new ship. Like celebrity being less than rcl, princess sales cheaper than carnival sometimes. I think when people brag how high class rcl is I try and not laugh. More fun maybe but class? If carnival was as cheap as it used to be then I'd understand. MSC is the only less expensive one now. A few princess deals. People should book what they want and look for the best deal for them. Check and do mock bookings. Not just assume about prices. Ignorance isnt bliss.
  19. Carnival mardi gras is a new class of ships and mostly reviews are good. New food choices free and pay restaurants. Mdr too small on purpose so anytime dining gets 1 free night in italian or chibang or one other. Only anytime, not fixed times. I'd like to do it. 2 sisters. Jubilee out of texas closest to me, hasnt arrived yet, arrives around this xmas. So it's not surprising their prices are high imo. I waited hoping a inside bottom deck starting price went under $1k but has gone up. Most dates starting at least $1500 and carnival prices by deck, so bottom deck inside. Deck 1 fore or aft. They had a hit with vista special area, havana with it's own pool. Mardi gras class has a special loft 19 area I saw someone here booked a suite with a cabana. Their new pay restaurants arent cheap and no bogo for me. I wish some of rcl dynamic pricing. Also new class is LNG fuel. People like hovering bar tenders while they are in a private area I read. Their biggest ships yet and more facing ocean than rcl. Personally i found princess boring.
  20. Above I said maybe the OP should look at oasis or allure .. same thinking. Wonder is currently the newest rcl ship .. of course its higher.
  21. Hobby is small, so if coming into hobby I personally wouldnt worry, though to me staying in houston a waste when I can stay in Galveston for a bit more and see and smell the ocean. I drive down to Galveston but friends flew in and it was just easier to time if we both got hotel rooms near the airport. I drove us down the next morning and parked. Usually I just get a hotel in Galveston with free cruise parking.
  22. I was booked on the 10 day radiance end of last jan and end of last march. Missed jan, but I did the end of march 10 day out of Galveston. I have to say best Mdr meals since covid. Meals every night were hot, not warm, actually hot. Fish and chips were crispy when every other time the fish breading is served soggy imo. We did cheers with a officer and had fillet and the man next to me also said best steak hes ever had on royal. Insides up are smaller, if that matters to you. Smaller rooms but stewards great. They did miniature towel animals really cute. I did miss having a dedicated pizza place though I'm not overly fond of royal pizza late at night not many choices. I did a JS on jewel and mostly remember some lounge I could see in but was told I couldn't be in lol. But we loved our JS. But was before covid. Back then I guess I wasnt on cc for years and didnt stay caught up in rcl stuff, though now I understand. I wouldnt hesitate to choose jewel over some freedom class which also isnt exactly up to date. It's never far to a elevator. Small ships everything is close. I'm booked next may on 7 day mariner out of texas. It's doing just the one 7 day. Doing it for a change of pace from harmony. Come join me on mariner?
  23. I stayed once at hobby at a fairly new la quinta that they said they get a lot of cruisers. Got a priceline express hotel deal about $54 total. Close enough to feel safe, toward the freeway imo the area gets iffy. Better right close to the airport. Take free shuttle back to airport in the morning and take rcl shuttle to port. Lots of uber drivers at the terminal, but they wanted extra money. Now they pull up and wait hoping to get a good fare. I just wanted to go a couple miles to my Galveston hotel and he still wanted $50.
  24. If you had tried to book a time in your planner you would have seen this is normal. My time is a terrible choice imo on royal. It's only good if you want to eat later. After 6:30 pm . .on all ships my time is like this. I'm surprised you didnt know actually. I booked my time once and not since on royal.
