Just like the weight limit (yes, they weigh you) on certain excursions is enforced, the age limit is also enforced. As others have stated, it's for insurance reasons.

It's not critical that you enter the info when checking in. They're going to ask to see your passport at the pier anyway and it'll take less than 5 seconds for them to scan it.

Check in documents for everyone?
cruiseguy1016 replied to sheezsmith's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Arrival times are not enforced at most ports. Don't worry about getting the same time for everyone. In the fine print it says "arrive at the port with your entire party" so if one of you has an early time, you can all check in at that time. -
I was on Jewel in March and although she didn't look terrible, she did look "tired" and in need of a spruce up. It sounds like this dry dock will have her back in tip-top shape again.

Royal Caribbean Visa points for Onboard Credit
cruiseguy1016 replied to Tralynn222's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have redeemed points many times and the OBC has always showed up within a couple of days. When I first started doing it, I was told that they redeem them in the order of which cruises are happening the soonest meaning they would redeem for a cruise happening soon and a cruise that was happening months away would be redeemed later. But, as I said, mine have always posted within a couple of days and I have redeemed them as far as 6 - 8 months in advance. -
Radiance Class between meals options

I was Jewel in March. I thought it was the Solarium Bistro but I just checked, it's the Solarium Cafe. -

Park Cafe on Jewel? Are you thinking of the Solarium Cafe? Op- Cafe Latte-Tudes will also have small sandwiches and other traets from time to time. Hours will vary. -
If that happens, there will be a record of whose card was used to open the door. And... I'm sure they won't get too far from the room before a camera picks them up walking with the device. I get that you may be concerned and I suggest you do what you feel you need to do. I have not "hidden" mine for years and feel comfortable continuing to do it this way.

Redeeming BOA Points?

We have had to cancel BOA cards twice in the past because of fraud. Both times the points carried over to the new card. -
Redeeming BOA Points?
cruiseguy1016 replied to handbellplayer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
When we redeem points, it usually only takes a couple days for them to post. It sounds like you're going to use the points for OBC? You could "buy" some OBC now to make sure it gets posted and then "buy" some more after your cc statement posts. The points required to redeem are in 5,000 point increments. It doesn't matter if (as an example) you redeem 20,000 today and 5,000 next week. You'll still have a total of $250 in OBC. -
If you're trying to go to the theater, I would avoid going through the casino and Schooner Bar to get there. It gets very narrow and crowded in that section of the Schooner Bar, especially if there is an event (trivia, piano player, etc.) happening in there. IMO, it will be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. I don't think you'll have issues anywhere else on the ship.

Did you book 3 or 4 people in the cabin or are you just curious about how many it can accomodate? My wife and I were in 8390 on Freedom a few years ago and I think I remember that there were pullman beds in there.

Can non-Diamond check in with Diamond Plus?
cruiseguy1016 replied to cruz_happy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If you sister is sharing a room with you, she can check in with you. -
Way back when, I used to put it in a suitcase under the bed or hide it in the closet behind the life jackets. I finally realized that there is no need to hide it anywhere, the only person in our cabin besides us is our room steward and I don't think he'd risk his job to take it. There are also many cameras all over the ship to spot someone walking out with it. The only thing I do to "secure" my device is to make sure it is password protected to turn it on.

I've never put my tablet in the safe and never worried about anything happening to it. And.... nothing has ever happened to it.

I've never experienced that. How does that happen? 😁

I never drink non-alcoholic beverages on the ship so that helps avoid the confusion 😁. Seriously though, I don't drink soda or fresh squeezed O.J. or anything else that has a charge. I drink water, lemonade, coffee etc. These are all free. If I'm ordering a beverage that costs money, it'll have alcohol in it.

It's not state but I have seen the Puerto Rico flag an ships sailing from San Juan.

Animal Sighting Advisory
cruiseguy1016 replied to Jetdriver787's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Several years ago we cruised on Adventure with some friends. We had balcony cabins next to each other. One night they decided to leave their balcony door open so they could have fresh air and listen to the sound of the waves. In the middle of the night my wife and I woke up to screaming and other loud noises coming from our friends' stateroom. Apparently a bat had flown in through the open door. After a few minutes they were able to chase it back outside. Needless to say, the balcony door stayed closed for the rest of the cruise. -
The two biggest changes for me are the new way to do the muster drill and the 4 free Diamond drinks. The muster drill can be completed before even boarding the ship. Once on board, just stop by your muster station, they'll scan your Seapass and you'll be done. As odd as it may sound, I was never a big fan of the free drinks in the Diamond Lounge during Happy Hour. It was always crowded in there. With the new system, you can get your free drinks anywhere, anytime. for me, that's huge. Another change is that you will no longer be given your Seapass at check-in. Seapasses are now waiting for you in your stateroom or on your door. If you need your Seapass for things such as beverage purchases before the rooms are ready, you show them your Set Sail Pass or give them your cabin number

A few people are "complaining" (tongue in cheek) that they never received a pin for various levels. If you truly want one, you can ask the LA on board. He/she will give you one, probably with no questions asked.

Is Group Check-in allowed on RCI?
cruiseguy1016 replied to CruiseTime10's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I don't use the app so I can't speak on how that works. I use a PC and RCI's web site. We recently got back from a family cruise and our reservations were linked. When I logged into my account and it showed my cruises, all of the family reservations were visible to me and I could make changes to any of them. If you are having trouble seeing the other reservations in your group, maybe you need to add them to your list of cruises. Click on the "add a cruise" tab and then enter the information. -

Open the app now and see if you can see everyone's reservation. If you can see everyone's reservation now, you'll be able to make changes i.e. purchase excursions or drink packages etc. and you'll also be able to check everyone in.
