  1. There are several different lunch menus. Perhaps the brunch options will be different as well. ( be the same as the original lunch menu). m
  2. On Harmony, usually both, but please don’t ask me how I know! 🍧🍨
  3. There is a list specifically for kids, it includes a discount for coffee (weird) , I think a milkshake discount , some buy some get some arcade credit, and it includes 5 (for D+) drinks (obviously non-alcoholic) per day. I don’t recall the other discounts. A welcome letter of the onboard benefits should be waiting in the cabin. If it is not there, see the loyalty ambassador. No casino credits because children are not allowed to be in the casino. enjoy.
  4. Baltimore seems to be strict. They pull our wine out of the bag and examine it. Not sure what they are looking for. Can't recall -there was one port where we have to remove belts, was that Baltimore? M
  5. Don't know the age cut off but yes, if you are paying for a child's UDP, the child will be limited to the restaurant children's menu. Slightly better than the MDR children's menu. Of course, children may order off the adult menu in the dining room (and adults may order off the children's menu). Not that we ever ordered chicken noodle soup, mac and cheese or a banana split!😀 I like most of the dining room food. We have access to Coastal Kitchen on Oasis class ships and several evenings, prefer the dining room menu/food to Coastal Kitchen. M
  6. I find the dining room wedge salad to be just about as good as in Chops. Shrimp Cocktail and Beef Carpaccio are better in Chops. Dining room shrimp are much small than Chops shrimp. Of course they all come in frozen. Beef Carpaccio in dining room was a mushier consistency than in Chops. Didn't seem like a real piece of thin sliced beef in MDR. M
  7. We recently sailed Independence. There was a line when we entered, 7:00, but a longer line when we left around 8PM. I don't know if the line remained long the entire hour. Spoke to several with traditional dining and they were NOT seated with others who were not in their traveling party. You can visit the Maitre d desk on embarkation afternoon to try to get dinner earlier than 7:45. They are set up just to address dinner reservations. Good luck. M
  8. I have to disagree. Meals charges are per person, not order extra and feed two more adults. Those without the package need to pay the cover. So sad to suggest putting the manager in an uncomfortable position to say no to the passenger and fear a bad review. The OP should not ask for two free meals, even if they ask politely. Frankly, I was shocked to read the initial post suggesting the sharing ( with adults). M
  9. $12.04 (I know weird, right?) and 18% gratuity = $14.20pp. on Harmony. Guess they wanted some even number. M
  10. No. They can pay and order lunch for the two of them and enjoy it with wine. They will pay the flat lunch fee for their meal, yours is pre paid with the package. It will be the same if you dine together at most any specialty restaurant during the cruise. Izumi Sushi has A la carte pricing. M
  11. If it bothers you, cross off the Emerald and write D+, or for that matter write any category. Want to be Pinnacle for a day, write that! If you are sharing a cabin with an Emerald passenger then the category is correct for the tags. It reverts to the lowest category for the cabin passengers. I think the category listing is there to make folks feel special. Of course in your case it backfired Category on the tag is MEANINGLESS. m
  12. Independence had it on the August 15 (4 N) sailing. Must have been new as it wasn't on the Aug 8 ( 4N) sailing. Only one sea day on each cruise. It was a nice change. M
  13. Yes - However, they don't need to be used just for alcohol. He may use his for-specialty coffee, soda, smoothies from Vality Cafe, bottled water etc. Lots of options for the total of 8 daily vouchers. They will be embedded your sea pass cards. M
  14. If an additional test is needed when you are on a B2B, RCCL will administer. (You are B2B, not two different ships, right?) For other Caribbean/Bahamas destinations, RCCL stopped B2B testing in late April. No need for any anxiety.
  15. The designation on the tag is MEANINGLESS The system uses the lowest C&A status in the cabin. We've had Pinnacle and D in a cabin and the tag says Diamond . It doesn't matter, I have no idea why they bother with a designation. You can always cross out "Emerald" and write " D+" or what ever you want. M
  16. As before, you will have access to the Diamond Lounge . The biggest change is that there are no free drinks in the lounge. Instead, you will each get 4 drinks per day to use anywhere. If you elect to use them in the lounge, they will go against your 4. This new system allows you each to have 4 free drinks ( up to $13) anytime/anywhere. The other perks haven't really changed. Search for the on-board benefit letter that lists all the D benefits. Have fun
  17. from the RCCL website Frequently Asked Topics Overview | Royal Caribbean Accepted Tests for U.S. Cruises Departing on or After September 5, 2022; with No Stops in Canada or Bermuda The test you take can be professionally administered by a health professional, such as a doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. Home test kits for these sailings are not required to be administered under live video supervision. You will present the negative test result at the time of boarding. You can show it in the form of a printout, an email, or an app screen from the test provider. Or you can show a picture of your negative home test on your phone, or present the actual negative test itself. So, yes - a simple photo of your ( Or I guess anyone's ) negative test. M
  18. No boosters required, buy they are asking if you are booted as one of the three health status questions in the initial check in process. Are you fully vaccinated for Covid 19? Have you received a Covid 19 Booster? Will you be more than 23 weeks pregnant at any time during the sailing? M
  19. 19 days, docs but no tags. No tags from the website either. partially my fault. About two weeks ago I changed my cabin. My original E docs issued about 30 days out had the tags. The new ones have the right cabin number but no tags. Website says tags pending. The lack of tags seems to be an issue with others on the sailing. I don’t mind getting them from the porter, but the porters going to be awfully busy writing tags for so many. m
  20. We’ve had the TV map on all of our cruises, pre and post Covid. We often check for speed and current location. The channel cycles a few screens, map, web cam and a few others. Op-maybe you hit the channel when other screens were showing. I recall Radiance class also has a live map in the Schooner Bar. m
  21. We’ve had a captains corner on every cruise (Harmony, Mariner,Allure, Indy), since our return to sailing, about a year. They even fit one in on a short Indy 4 night cruise. Op- I hope you will have one on your next cruise. m
  22. Plenty of day beds in South Beach. They have them set up staggered, so that even though there are two rows, all have direct water view. South Beach has become a popular area since it is the first beach stop on the tram. enjoy M
  23. Figured it would come to this. Often Casitas are "taken" with a few towels and not occupied most of the day. I think 1/2 day rental is a good idea, wonder why they have decided to do full day only. Don't be surprised if pool chairs are next. I often see a row of chairs at 8AM with just a towel that stay empty till after lunch. M
  24. No. Each person in the cabin gets the "coupons" embedded in the sea pass. One set of "coupons" per person. Same regarding the drinks per day, photo. etc. M
