  1. Yea and I would even go up one floor and then cross over to the forward elevators if by chance you are directed by crew to the central bank of elevators. If there is a forward gangway take that as well. We only had a central one. Good point.
  2. I would hope so, but the language is a bit confusing and doesn’t actually address the refund policy if the payment is not part of a package.
  3. My advice would be to call Princess and ask. I intend to do this tomorrow, so will post my experience. I don’t plan to pre purchase the WIFi, so can’t help you there. But do plan to look into prepaying gratuities. I did find this the other day. It appears to state that prepayment is non refundable unless it is part of a package and then subjected to the usual refund policies. But as I said, I intend to confirm this. Another interesting note in this document is that the pooled funds are distributed to the staff after credit card fees are deducted. Again, this is my interpretation. https://www.princess.com/html/global/disclaimers/crew-appreciation/
  4. We were just on the Enchanted. Upon boarding, you need to head for the forward elevators and take one up to deck 17. Then take the stairs just past the retreat pool.
  5. Thanks for the tips, will, check out 2024
  6. @Fleur25 yes you can recommend but not mention. Easy to forget about this.
  7. The technical difficulties aren’t new. The shopping cart had an error that last most of September.
  8. Agree to look at the cruise tours, amd make sure you cruise Glacier BAY.
  9. Welcome to Cruise Critic. Maybe check your roll call for ideas others may post. You can find it here. Just scroll through until you find your date. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/2469-discovery-princess-roll-calls/ You may not realize that mentioning travel agents by names is against CC rules and the thread you started may be locked by the administrators.
  10. I had a similar issues abiut two months ago my CVP took several days to respond when I asked her about a cruise. By then I was off on another cruise. Once I returned I looked at the same cruise again. This time I called several times over three days and sent several emails. No answer. I finally called the main line and I was able to complete my transaction. I never got an out of office reply for any of my emails or durning my phone calls. About a week later I found a new CVP.
  11. Besides the port of call forums, I always look for a roll call from some of the most recent cruises to that area. Here is one from this summer. It’s maybe a lot to read through, but that is exactly what I do. We were considering this crusie but decided on a Princess cruise, that did not include Greenland.
  12. Ah that right about the bottles of liquor. The reserved seating is in the balcony, one to all suites and is great, forgot about that as well. I think it was the port side as the ship was only 1/3 full. We’ve also sailed in 9232, one of the aft suites with the wrap around balcony on the Star(sister ship) and enjoyed that cabin as well. The cabin is about 360 sq feet and the balcony is an additional 70. It’s a lovely cabin. I haven’t sailed in the foreword facing window suites on NCL but recently did on Princess. The views were amazing. I am sure the same is true for the NCL Dawn as @brookie848 reports. Views were awesome when the Spinnaker lounge was there instead of the suites. Enjoy
  13. We sailed in a 2 Br in August in the Baltics. The 2 bedrooms still have the jacuzzi tub over looking the water. These are on deck 11. You can call the Pre concierge before you leave home to give them pillow preferences, snack preferences, etc. Breakfast and lunch in Modernos. Daily snacks in the room Nespresso Machine in room Priority check in desk, concierge (Bruno) met us at embarkation, went over perks, then had us escorted on board to Cagney’s for lunch. Butler will deliver room service from regular dinning room menu. upgraded bath products. First off ship in every port even if not booked on a NCL excursion. Priority tender escort. The 2 br is our favorite. We have also sailed on the Star, actually the same cabin. Both cruises were for the itinerary, which the smaller ships often offer. That is what I remember for now.
  14. A bit off topic, but be sure your names match your passport for your flights before you book them as there is a fee afterwards. (Sounds like RyanAir) LOL
  15. I don’t know your ships itinerary. You would need to know what time your ship is on and if that is different than the time onshore. This is what happen to us. It was a surprise as we had expected to turn our clocks back the night before. These are the time zones for different countries in the Baltics. Sweden, including Visby, is on Central European Time(CET) Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are all on Eastern European Time(EET) which is an hour ahead of CET. Our cruise as many others it seems, go back and forth between these countries. Our captain decided to keep the ship(we arrived from Finland) on EET as the next several days of our cruise were in that zone. So when we arrived at 7am, it was 6am onshore. Even though the website says this is what is happening, the Captain makes the final decision.
  16. Yep that was us. It was a short ride. The captain commented we weren't the ship scheduled to tender though. We stayed an extra 2 hours due to the tender requirement, so had plenty of time there. Considering Visby is a substitute for St.Petersburg, it’s possible more ships will be visiting there, so I would say you could tender. It’s a lovely town. The time difference was our biggest issue. Visby is on CET. The day was sandwiched between Helsinki and Tallin both on EET. So the ship stayed on EET but Visby was on CET. Very confusing.
  17. Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport has experienced the longest security waits in Europe this year. The most recent event was this last weekend. You can google and find many reports of passengers waiting hours and hours to get through security. Reports are this is due to staffing issues. The airport is reducing passenger numbers in an effort to ease the pressure. We flew back using the airport in August. We didn’t have many issues, but I did see long lines for some airlines amd people waiting outside to enter. We were traveling on United. We saw many snaking rope lines set up for security but were mostly empty until we got upstairs. At that point, a sign said the wait was 35-40 minutes. We had priority and got through in about 10 minutes. Passport control was after security. All total it took about 90 minutes to get past all of this and head to the gate. I could be wrong but I think there is Only one main security checkpoint area. It is quite large. But not all stations were open. The EU security checkpoints are more involved than the US. Be prepared to remove all products that aren’t solid(not just liquids is the point I am trying to make here) and place in a plastic bag. This includes hand cream, makeup, toothpaste, etc. I would, say if you need to do what @NownZenreports plan on several hours. The airport has an app you can download and it will tell you how busy it is. https://www.schiphol.nl/en/download-the-schiphol-app
  18. Here is a thread from a few years ago as well.
  19. Here is a video of one of the suites on the Dolphin deck. Would be interested in other replies as well. We booked this suite. It was one of the few left for our desired cruise. .
  20. .I have a deposit on this one. Island Princess, July 12, 2023. I think it has one less sea day than the Sky Princess cruise. It visits Alesund and Haugesund. It also embarks in Copenhagen and disembarks in Southampton. That is a plus as you only pay the air fuel surcharge once when departing from London. This may not be important to all folks but is to us as we are using miles one way. Also plus to visit Copenhagen. https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/details/?voyageCode=2312 Interested in thoughts.
  21. Yea, the issue is the checkout page is not functioning. This problem has persisted for several weeks. The maximum is five $500.00 cards per month, but some are now reporting only $100.00 certs available. If it works grab them.
  22. Full suites, special cruises, website issues or your dates may be among the reasons.
  23. We formed a group from our roll call. So it brought the costs down.
  24. Bar Harbor has a thriving summer season from land tourists. We were there the first week of October last year and shops, restaurants, hotels and bars were preparing to close for the season. I think the free shuttle stops the second week of October, I don’t think the business rely heavily on cruise ships. Acadia National Park attracts many visitors. I wouldn’t be afraid to get off the ship though. Maybe ask the mods to move your thread to the Canada/NE forum for more discussion.
