  1. Hi check out the hop on hop off boat to get round. I think it stops where you dock. I would email the company with your information to be sure. The boats stop near old town, the Royal Palace; and the Vasa and ABBA museums. The company is very responsive. Much more pleasant than a bus. https://www.redsightseeing.com/stockholm/our-tours/hop-on-hop-off-boat/
  2. Do I send one fax for 2 or more cruises or each separately? Both in 2023. TY
  3. We are using Iceland Everywhere for three tours in July. Folks from some of the 2022 cruises recommend them. Our port tours are about booked full, but I don’t know if the the company will be adding more tours. Dodo at ICE writes they are trying very hard to meet demand. https://www.icelandeverywhere.is We are also using Arctic Shore Excursions for Seydisfjordur as Iceland Everywhere doesn't offer tours there. https://arcticshorex.com
  4. @Babr no worries, we use Tripinsurancestore. I agree, good advice and options.
  5. The OP has stated their insurance company wants to include the good will gesture amount in figuring the policy costs as noted in post #1. Hence the recommendation to check with another company.
  6. We have a similar case. Enchanted last September. We had a large credit and when booking a new cruise, my agent told me I do not insure the credit. It is a “Good Will Gesture”. Also, I can only insure the amount I paid for the AARP Princess gift cards. So only $900.00 for $1000.00, for example. It did cut the cost of my insurance. I thought this was the case but asked anyway. Maybe look for a different insurance company for a second opinion?
  7. Here is an helpful article https://shouldbecruising.com/2021/07/02/onboard-credit-for-owning-carnival-stock/ welcome to Cruise Critic Those who’ve done it can offer more advice. I never have, but am researching like you.
  8. Yep, one day if after final payment. Some other lines want payment upon booking.
  9. It usually means that the type of fare you want is not available on part(s) of your itinerary. It is usually due to, as others have noted, a regional flight that may not have different cabins or a flight that does have different cabins but doesn’t offer the type cabin you want, such as Premium Economy. This seems to be your situation, though I’m not sure. I’m thinking you’ re looking at charge for the other flights? We fly United and Premium Economy is a different product than Economy Plus. United will indeed charge you to upgrade to Economy Plus if Premium Economy is not offered on that section of your itinerary. But the fare is also lower. Premium Economy is usually only offered on International and some US coast to coast flights, as it is a different cabin and, as of now, only an option on some aircraft.
  10. This is probably not the best idea. Would you want to be tipped/paid in Euros in the US and then go to your bank to exchange them? Although in some places guides may be pleased to receive US dollars, Europe is not one of them. The company we are using this summer in Iceland, while accepting credit cards, has a notice that payment made in foreign currency would be charged a fee 2,5% on top of the exchange rate. Not the tips, but you get the idea is to discourage foreign currency. It is easy to get €s and you will need coins for the toilets anyway. Enjoy. Sounds like a nice cruise.
  11. You're correct. The line which probably does this the best is NCL. The bigger away class NCL ships have blocks of solo cabins connected to a common social area with activities. The fare is for solos only. It looks like most of these depart from Seattle though. So just FYI for possible other cruises. Attached is a CC article on these types of cabins and experiences. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=419
  12. Ok I looked it up. It’s no child under 6 months Under 12 mo no Trans oceanic or remote itineraries with more than 2 sea days. https://www.princesscruises.de/en/holiday-princess/important-information/age-restrictions
  13. @CeCe_NCL has a few Iceland/Greenland. Here is one https://www.ncl.com/cruises/10-day-iceland-and-greenland-round-trip-reykjavik-STAR10REYDJUAKUISANANPAANUKREY?destinations=4294938434&numberOfGuests=4294953449&sortBy=featured&autoPopulate=f&from=resultpage&itineraryCode=STAR10REYDJUAKUISANANPAANUKREY OP, lots of great information here. Thank for the thread. For excursions, another thing I do is look at the roll calls for the cruises from the previous year. This will often give you options.
  14. Agree primarily pick for the itinerary. We are on the Island Princess crusie in July visiting Seydisfjordur, Akureyri, Grundarfjordur and Reykjavik. We are using private group companies(recommended on CC) in all four ports. This is 14 days. We also call on two ports in Norway: Alsuend and Haugesund. A bit of a compromise on Norway, but heavy on Iceland. NCL has a few interesting cruises on the Star, as does Viking, but we went with this one.
  15. Also following. We are onboard in July. Have a great adventure.
  16. Given the list you have, I would stay near Westminster. Hyde Park is a bit further out. Both are safe areas. So either one of the hotels you mention in Westminster/Victoria are good bets. Premium Inn is not the quality of the Hiltons you mention. Windsor Castle is not in London so you would need to get there by train or take a tour. It is easy to reach by train; or a tour from Victoria Coach Station.
  17. Here is the suites benefit flyer. Print it and take it with you should you have a questions. if a series some of your questions. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/ships/PrincessSuite_eFlyer.pdf Sky Princes has a suite lounge mid aft on deck 14. It is open 24 hours, it has sodas, coffee machine, and cocktails in the evening. The aft suites are very nice. The higher up you book the larger the wrap around balcony. You can switch our the minibar after boarding. It is subject to what is available. One alcohol to one alcohol, one soda to one soda, all sodas/water or a coffee credit. You will need to set up your dinner on the balcony unless you purchase the Ultimate Balcony Dinner.
  18. In post #12. she admitted to her error. As @Rick&Jeanniesays she gets it now and has her crusie back minus the. $100.00OBC. I am always asked if I want to keep the card for final payment.. never did it though.. I usually pay a few days before final.
  19. I would think you would need a side by side comparison. Our trips often involve more than just the crusie. We usually book our air separately, so we may need to insure that. The medical is better as some report. The other thing is by using the AARP gift cards, we reduce the amount of insurance we buy, as we only insure what we pay for the cards. It adds up, especially with a longer crusie. I did recently book a last minute 5 day trip on the Royal, no air. The price was about the same. Princess included the CFAR with a future credit? (I guess that is how it works) However, with no air and last minute, I didn’t see a reason from that. So I went with tripinsurancestore.com. It’s worth talking with them. I use Deanna.
  20. Thanks @dides @SumoCitrus and @jwattle I’ve never tried to order a soda at a bar, and have it refunded, but have gotten them at the lounge. We don’t book the beverage package anymore.
  21. @donswifeor @dides thanks for your pics. This type suite looks interesting. Is there a second TV in the bedroom?
  22. @cr8tiv1agree with your points. Regarding the photos, the station probably just searched for pics of Princess ships. This is what I see in the video in post #72. Opening shot: The Grand docked in Oakland/Alameda on March 10, 2020. They had to dig to find that clip. Probably didn’t realize what they were uploading into their story. Anyone else see that?
  23. Did you sail the Pacific in this suite? We’ve sailed forward on the Enchanted out of NYC to New England, it wasn't bad at all. But we’ve also sailed up from Mexico to LA and that was a bit of a ride just near the front. We enjoy the lounge as well, as Princess doesn’t have coffee machines in the suites. But we send the laundry out.
