  1. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I don't care for spumoni, even though I love ice cream. I'll salute senior citizens (what age defines that?) and poets. Good quote. I like the meal. Pass on the drink and wine. I've never cruised to/from Boston, but went to school there for 6 years in the 70's. I was back in 2009 when I had the arbitration after a cruise injury. I'll look for any pictures. Before I went to bed, there was great thunder, lightning and rain. Same during the middle of the night, and early this AM. We're under a flood watch (I'm on high ground, so no worries). More storms tonight and the next 2 days. This should green up the lawn! @grapau27 Thank you for Father David's sermon today. Lovely scenery. @kazu Thinking of you and I hope Shadow got settled with the foster. @aliaschief Enjoy the 2nd half of your cruise! @cruzn single Prayers for you on what would have been your 51st anniversary. @smitty34877 Prayers that you all continue to improve. @lindaler That's awful the seller was dishonest about the house. Good luck to DS moving in. @ottahand7 Great photo by DH! @ger_77 My condolences on the loss of your friend Melodie and to her husband and family. Prayers for your and DH's continued improvement. @Quartzsite Cruiser I drove my first car in Boston! Prayers for the Care List and a Salute to the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone.
  2. Funny, I have that same photo from my cruise in 2007, that I didn't post earlier.
  3. @ger_77 Sorry you're still testing positive and that you're both still very fatigued. Just rest and recuperate. @grapau27 Pauline was a beautiful bride on her wedding day. Great picture of her and her Father.
  4. Good afternoon. Thanks @richwmn for the Fleet Report/Daily. Honey bees are important and hopefully making a comeback. I don't listen to the radio much, except in the car. The health department was just spraying for mosquitos around here as West Nile VIrus has been detected in some; and mosquitos love me so I try to always use a repellant. I think the quote is sadly true. I'll pass on the meal and wine, and take the drink. I've been to Nassau once by air (in college) and on a Disney Cruise. It's warm and sunny here today. Maybe a shower tonight, but serious storms tomorrow. I'm trying to tidy up around here as it's quite messy right now. My knee is not feeling good at times; the steroid injection helped some, but not great. I may look into the gel injection next month. @aliaschief Thanks for sharing your journey with us. @dfish You're quite the worker bee with all your painting! @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you're starting to feel better after the booster. Thinking of you as you attend your neighbor's memorial service. @ottahand7 What a pretty landscape up there. @superoma I hope DD's ok and the pain and swelling subside quickly. Early Happy Birthday to your DH! @HAL Sailer I interpret the quote the same way. Many prayers for DH's sister. Sad to hear this news and I hope the treatment is effective. @durangoscots Fingers crossed for no more roof leaks! Prayers for the Care List and a toast to the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone. A few pictures from my stop in Nassau on Disney Wonder in 2007. Atlantis Interesting Decor inside Atlantis Paradise Lagoon Ships in dock in Nassau
  5. Interesting. Thanks for the information. On the shingles vaccine, I had the older one in 2015 (Zostavax), now know to be only about 50% effective and lasting about 5 years. In 2020 I had shingles, but not horrible, perhaps due to some effect of the prior vaccine. So last November I went to the pharmacy and got the first dose of Shingrix, and the second in February of this year. I had a sore arm with the first, but less than with Zostavax since that was a partially active vaccine. After the 2nd Shingrix I had symptoms similar to the Covid vaccines; headachy, tiredness, etc but only for 2 days.
  6. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I will salute aviation, the versatile potato (love them) and humanitarians (which we need more of). The last time I was at the store, no russets - the sign said they couldn't source any quality ones. Very true quote. I'll pass on the meal (fish), drink and wine. I haven't been to Rijeka or anywhere in Croatia. Thanks for the pictures @Quartzsite Cruiser@Cruising-along We're warming up more today and getting more humid. I may do a little in the yard later. I've been busy working on my ebay stuff this morning. So far I've heard of 6 out of 58 with Covid since the reunion. @kazu Yay, Shadow was found! Bless Liz for her perseverance and caring. I hope the foster family will now keep Shadow safe and happy. @1ANGELCAT I'm sure Fluff isn't liking the cone. Hopefully she will heal quickly. @rafinmd Thanks for your devotion to making our lists. @Cruzin Terri Sorry the booster knocked you out; hopefully you're better tomorrow. I hope your neighbor recovers soon; so sad that her husband can't understand why she has to stay away from him. @StLouisCruisers What a good idea DD had getting that quilt made for Morgan. @aliaschief Thanks for the pictures of the beautiful scenery. @durangoscots Hoping for a leak free roof soon. And ugh on the tile job; it's so hard to get quality work done nowadays. @Norseh2o I hope your DM finds a place she is happy with that can assist her. Safe travels. @Sharon in AZ I'm glad your eye infection is better. Safe travels home from Vegas. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Stay safe all. We're back up to high transmission here, with masks recommended indoors (I still do).
  7. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. No thanks to bad poetry. Serendipity happens. Helium is important in keeping the MRI magnets cool. Another great Gandhi quote. I like and have made the meal; love pina coladas. I'll pass on the wine. I haven't been to Noumea. I guess no one's been there to post photos. I'm late today. It's sunny and warm today, after a foggy start. Not much going on with me. I now see 5 people from the HS reunion have reported becoming Covid positive. @kazu Prayers for you and for Shadow. Bless Liz for trying to find her in the pouring rain and again today. That plan for her to "decompress" doesn't sound very humane. I hope the wrist is less painful. @ger_77 I'm glad you and DH are coming along. @RedneckBob Haha 👍👍 @Cruzin Terri Good luck with the booster shots. My condolences on the passing of your neighbor; it sounds like she had a lot of heartache before this latest illness. @1ANGELCAT I hope Fluff sailed through the surgery. @StLouisCruisers Yes, batteries always go out in the middle of the night! Mine are hard-wired into the security system, so I don't have to worry about that any more. I'm glad DS arrived safely. @smitty34877 I hope you all regain pleasure in eating soon. @marshhawk Great story and it was serendipity. @Cruising-along I'm so glad DD is ok! Years ago I was going on a road trip and heard something similar. I pulled into the first auto garage I could find, and the lug nuts were loose. I'd had the yearly inspection a few days before, and they'd not tightened them after pulling the wheel! I was just thankful I wasn't on the highway yet, and was only going 25 mph. Now I always check. @bennybear Sorry to hear of the wasp sting. @Heartgrove Wonderful picture of Lily and her DM. @Seasick Sailor Good news that it's raining! Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Try to stay safe everyone.
  8. My 50th high school reunion was this past Saturday in NJ. I've been looking at some pictures posted on FB by some attendees. I didn't go as I wasn't ready for socializing in a larger group, assuming no masks on most or all. Now one person has reported that they tested positive today after having symptoms of headache, scratchy throat, fever and body aches. She said the only indoor place she had been without a mask was the reunion. A bit later a 2nd person said they were positive too. I made the right decision. I would have liked to see people, but ...
  9. Thanks. I don't know how that comment got there, I know it was meant for @ger_77. Sometimes my cursor jumps around. That's my story and I'm sticking to it 🙃! Or maybe not enough coffee! So sorry to hear about your girlfriend Debbie's brother. Prayers for her and his family, as well as you.
  10. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like thrift shops, but try to donate much more to them than I buy. Nice neighbors are nice. I don't have a cat, but black cats shouldn't be targeted, especially around Halloween. Good quote. Stuffed shells are big here at weddings and parties. Never made my own. I like the drink and pass on the wine. I was in Punta Arenas on Christmas Eve, on my SA/Antarctica cruise on the Zaandam in 2018 It's been rainy here (no complaints) and is chilly today. Oy, I'm sleepy. I took Benadryl about 9:15 this AM for my injection this morning. The roofer dropped off a book with shingle covers. As soon as it's dry out I want to look at it outside to get a better appreciation for the colors. @kazu Sorry to hear about the fall, but thankfully nothing broken. So sad about Shadow. OMG on the new foster losing her as soon as she arrived! She doesn't deserve this. I hope she's found soon. And take care of yourself. @ger_77 I hope you and DH are doing ok. @grapau27 It looks like a nice day for a picnic. @Cruzin Terri So sad about your neighbor with cancer and in hospice. @marshhawk I hope you feel a little better today. And sorry to hear your Chinese student tested positive too (kudos to her for helping you out)! Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Copied from a Sept 22, 2021 post. The Zaandam in Punta Arenas A trip to the Nao Victoria Museum with replicas of Magellan's ship and the HMS Beagle Strait of Magellan and replica of Shackleton's James Caird ship View of Punta Arenas, Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego in the distance Monument to Magellan in downtown Punta Arenas and interesting building It was Christmas Eve, so Santa was in Punta Arenas Christmas Eve dessert on the Zaandam
  11. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like roller coasters and still ride them at amusement parks (Kennywood has roller coasters that are rated by the roller coaster society). I'm not good at telling jokes. I like the quote. The meal and wine sounds good. Pass on the drink. I haven't been to Koper, Slovenia. Thanks for the photos @Quartzsite Cruiser@bennybear@Cruising-along@Vict0riann It's cloudy here and mid-70's with maybe rain later. Well, busy morning. I left home just before the last beam was to arrive for the fallen bridge, so I avoided the traffic issues from that. I went to order my new glasses; the old ones from last September had been expensive and gave me headaches. I'm using the same frames, so these weren't too bad price-wise. And I will continue to complain if the new ones are a problem. I'll get them in about 2 weeks. Then I stopped to mattress/bed shop. I want an adjustable bed. I laid on numerous mattresses and narrowed it down to 2. I'll think on it and maybe do another testing of them before I commit to buying. @kazu Prayers for you and Shadow. @StLouisCruisers Safe travels on that long journey for DS, DDIL and DGC. @Heartgrove So nice that you got to meet and hold Lily yesterday. I hope the meds continue to help Sam. @Crazy For Cats Nice picture of Raven. @ottahand7 Ouch on the hook in your finger! Hopefully no infection occurs. @smitty34877 Good to hear that you all seem to be getting closer to being back to normal. @Seasick Sailor Indeed scary to have a fire that close! Fortunately it was small. @1ANGELCAT Keeping good thoughts for Fluff on Thursday. @AV8rix Safe travels and Bon Voyage! Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone.
  12. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I wasn't familiar with Acadian Day. I'll get some relaxation in later, and definitely salute my BFF! Not understanding the quote; I think I still have the book from high school. I like the meal. Pass on the drink and wine. I've never been to Dili. It's cloudy out, low 70's and maybe a shower later. I may try to mow the lawn before that (must remember bug repellant, as mosquitos feasted on me from Friday's shrub trimming). I did a few errands this AM, including getting my finances together for the roof replacement. I signed the contract and it'll likely be done next month. @kazu Continued prayers for you and Shadow. @aliaschief It sounds like you're enjoying the Rotterdam. @grapau27 Hopefully the exercises will help you. @dfish Good luck with the house hunting. Safe travels home. Thanks for the recipes. @smitty34877 I think it's good you'll keep the ladies longer, as you all recuperate. Extra prayers for Tana. @ger_77 Hoping you and DH are feeling better. @Seasick Sailor That VA Caregivers program sounds great. @Heartgrove Congratulations on the new granddaughter! It's nice that DD and family will be closer soon. And what a sweet picture of her. @rafinmd Beautiful sunrise picture! @StLouisCruisers Bummer to hear your leg is still bothering you. Sadie's expression is too much! 😀 @Vict0riann Sorry to hear you had to go to Emergency, and I hope it all works out ok. Prayers for the Care List and a toast to the Celebration List. Try to stay safe everyone.
  13. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. These days we all need to be financially aware. A salute to the Navajo Code Talkers and how they helped our country. I've never played whiffle ball. Good quote. I'll pass on the meal and drink. I'll take the wine. I've been to Italy, but not Venice. Thanks for the photos. It's cloudy here, but nice temps. Possible showers later. I had a nice time with BFF and friends yesterday. We figured out I hadn't seen the other two folks in about 6 years! I did leave earlier as I'm still not comfortable driving at night yet. @kazu I was so sorry to read your post yesterday. Prayers for you and Shadow. @grapau27 Thanks for today's sermon from Father David. @aliaschief I'm glad you're on board Rotterdam. Thanks for the pictures. Have a great cruise! @lindaler You've got a lot going on! @ger_77 So sorry to hear of your positive test this morning. Rest and take care of yourself. I hope DH is feeling better. @Horizon chaser 1957 Happy Heavenly Birthday to your DM. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to the Celebration List. Try to be safe all.
  14. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'm not left handed, but I do a lot of things with my left hand (I bat and swing a golf club left-handed). I am an only child. I used to have garage sales; then it was ebay and/or donate. Good quote. The meal sounds good, pass on the drink, but I'll take the wine. I haven't been to Copenhagen. Another beautiful day here. It was only 53F this AM, but now mid-70's. I'm not doing much today, although I will say the yard looks good after yesterday's efforts. BFF is having two people and me over later. This will be my first social gathering, other than just seeing BFF, since March 2020. We'll be out on the deck, so hopefully ok. @kazu Thinking of you and Shadow. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to your DH! Safe travels tomorrow. Great photos! @dfish It will be nice to be near family when you move to Michigan. @smitty34877 It's good to hear that Tana is feeling a bit better, and I hope that continues. I'm glad you have 24 hour help for Tana, as the rest of you continue to recuperate. @Seasick Sailor So scary about the fires! I hope you get some rain. @ger_77 I hope DH feels better soon, and that you remain negative. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the photos. @aliaschief Lovely pictures. Bon Voyage tomorrow! Enjoy the cruise. @Horizon chaser 1957 Oh no on the white residue! I've only used the baking soda as a paste (scrubbing) to try to clean a pan. @grapau27 Welcome home. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone.
  15. Whew. I got a lot of yard work done, and now I'm out of energy. Time to relax and replenish fluids. Thanks for more pictures of Edinburgh. @aliaschief Congrats on making it to Amsterdam with all your luggage! Quite hot there. Enjoy touring around before boarding Rotterdam. @Cruzin Terri Congrats on getting off the steroids. When I started Prednisone for my eyes, I thought it would be for a few weeks and here I am 3 years later and still on it (although a small dose). @bennybear Condolences on the loss of DSIL's DM. @ger_77 Sorry to hear DH tested positive; hopefully his symptoms stay mild and you stay negative!
  16. Good morning. Thanks for the Daily/Fleet Report. Unfortunately it's usually too cloudy here to see the meteor showers, plus light pollution. I drank Kool-Aid as a kid. I still have some vinyl records and a turntable. True quote. I'll pass on the meal (fish). Yes to the drink and wine (if someone buys it for me). I haven't been to South Queensferry. Thanks for the photos. A gorgeous day here! Mid-70's, sunny and low humidity. I'll get out and do trimming of the bushes I think. I hear helicopters and sirens, so the next 2 beams are being delivered for the bridge. I didn't go out to watch today. @kazu Thinking of you at this difficult time with Shadow. Prayers. @richwmn HAPPY BIRTHDAY! @grapau27 Enjoy your time in the Lake District. @mamaofami Hugs to your family on this sad day. @StLouisCruisers Safe travels back to Cincinnati. Prayers for the Care List and a salute to the Celebration List. Take care everyone.
  17. What I do is if Sandi posts the date, I go to my profile and click on see my activity. From there I go back in the pages (initially guessing how far back to go) to find that date among my past posts. Then I highlight the pictures and any text, right click to copy, and paste in my current post.
  18. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Interesting days (not going near Presidential jokes) and quote. I like the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Sydney. Thanks for the photos @StLouisCruisers @Quartzsite Cruiser@kb4683@Cruising-along Oh, it's lovely here. Sunny, upper 70's, gentle breeze and lower humidity. I was up early getting the donation stuff out on the porch (I don't like to put it out the night before, even though it's fairly safe here). Then I went over a block to the main street to watch the bridge beams go by. It was like a neighborhood party! Lots of folks and their dogs out and about. Very interesting watching them back up for a mile with the huge load. @kazu You are missed. I hope you're doing ok. @grapau27 Nice picture of you. Lunch looks good. Wow, seven cruises! @RedneckBob Funny story. @dfish Safe travels to Michigan, and have fun! @smitty34877 So sorry to hear about Tana's rebound. Prayers for her and you all. Try to get some rest and more help. I heard some discussions that maybe the treatment duration should be longer. @ger_77 Sorry to hear that DS tested positive; hopefully mild. And I hope DH is ok. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you're having a good time. Oh no on that parksleephotel cancellation! BFF was looking there for our November cruise, although I suspect around Thanksgiving we're going to have trouble finding a spot. Prayers for the Care List and a toast to the Celebration List. Try to stay safe everyone.
  19. Big doings are about to go on nearby. You may recall the bridge by me that fell last Jan 28. At first they said it might take a few years to reconstruct. But with some federal help, it's been progressing much faster and beams are coming in from 90 miles away. They came already to the far side. Now it's my side's turn, and big carriers are going to back down the nearby parkway onramp and then back down the main road (one block over from me) for 1.5 miles to the bridge for the next 4 days. Lots of temporary road closures. I'll be out there to watch the spectacle. They're hoping the bridge will be finished (except for some lights and other trim slowed by supply issues) by year's end.

  22. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Hmmm, not being lazy today. I've never had a s'mores. I like lions. Interesting quote. I'll pass on the meal (fish), take the drink and wine. I have been to Buenos Aries, on my Zaandam SA/Antarctica cruise. So sad about the Koningsdam crewmember who went overboard. It's now sunny and 75F. Humidity is supposed to start dropping this evening. Busy, busy. First I finally found out how to get my address corrected (there were two since at one time my house had an apartment on the second floor) so I can get Informed Delivery. Then I began clearing out a filing cabinet (while looking for something), with lots of tossing and shredding. Also gathering trash and recycling to put out this evening. And gathering stuff to be picked up for donation tomorrow morning. And doing laundry. Whew! So no lazy day for me. @kazu Thinking of you and Shadow. @Seasick Sailor Scary about the grass fire. @grapau27 So sad about Pauline's colleague to pass at such a young age. @RedneckBob Yikes on all that damage from the lightning strike! Thankfully no fire. @Horizon chaser 1957 Oh my, so scary for DD! Prayers for her and the people of Taiwan. Prayers for the Care List and a salute to the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone.
  23. Lord Of The Rings - after the movies came out, this became a common notation for the series. 🙂
  24. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I can appreciate book lovers day; I like real books at home, but ebooks for travel. A salute to int'l indigenous people. Polka is big here due to a large Polish descent population; people always polka at weddings here. Excellent quote. I've never had pho. I'll take a regular pina colada instead, and the wine (although a bit pricey for me). I haven't been to Luanda. Hoping to see some photos. It's a bit cooler today, with some passing rainstorms. I ended up doing edging and then mowing yesterday. I think I wore myself out in the heat, because I slept 9 hours! But as I was falling asleep, I got the dreaded muscle cramp in my thigh, despite having drunk 32 ounces of PowerAde. I recalled some advice from the Daily and got out of bed and walked a bit. It eased up and I was able to fall asleep. Just heard of a data breach of my health system (some employee clicked on a compromising email); I already have years of free "protection" from other data breaches. @kazu I hope you're doing ok. @marshhawk Love the new hairdo! Another LOTR fan here. @smitty34877 Continued prayers for Tana. @StLouisCruisers It sounds like you're having a fun time. @Heartgrove Sorry to hear of Sam's new issues. Good that your brother is holding his own and I hope DSIL can get more help. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone.
