  1. I was on the Bliss in Alaska last August, third week, and had a Vibe pass. It was too cold and windy to use, I was there twice and left after a bit. There was no one else there. I would not get a Vibe pass for Alaska again. YMMV. Safe travels.....
  2. Hello everyone, A blessed Good Friday to Christians who participate; it is a somber culmination to Holy Week. In my family’s Polish traditions, we also participate in a food basket blessing as part of our Easter celebration. The food blessing is conducted at our church on Holy Saturday. It is called Święconka, meaning "the blessing of the Easter baskets", is one of the most enduring and beloved Polish traditions on Holy Saturday during Easter. With roots dating back to the early history of Poland, it is also observed by expatriate and their descendants Poles in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden and other Polish communities in the world. The foods in the baskets have a symbolic meaning: · eggs - symbolise life and Christ's resurrection · bread - symbolic of Jesus · lamb - represents Christ · salt - represents purification · horseradish - symbolic of the bitter sacrifice of Christ · ham - symbolic of great joy and abundance We also add other things we believe are important to our Easter, i.e. wine, candy, fruit. Hope everyone has a really good weekend and a festive Easter (for those that celebrate). Here in MN we should have, finally, some semblance of Spring, AT LAST, over the WE. Prayers for all; take good care. Caron 🐇🐣💐
  3. We did a B2B where the embark port was Copenhagen. We were required to leave the ship to clear it for the second part. Every country is different apparently.
  4. One and done for us. Adults only, no kids but huge Disney and cruising fans. When we did the adult only areas they were lacking in quality entertainment and DCL did not enforce the rules unless something was said. Children running around everywhere, during shows, in the dining room arr exam0les of how unruly it was at times. I felt bad for the waiters in the dining room when children were laying on the floor having a temper tantrum and the parents did nothing. We were surpised the waiters we able ot keep from dumping trays of food. Saw thia every evening at dinner. I am thinking lots of bad parents on that cruise. Lots of screaming too, not screams of joy and excitement, the other kind.... Have never seen such behaviors on any other cruiseline. YMMV.😎
  5. IMO, the above forum is very generic and only discusses solo cruising in general, which is great for cruisers starting to cruise solo. Lots of good information. If there is any cruiseline specific info it is lost in the generic posts. Solo information, varies greatly from cruiseline to cruiseline. It would be nice to have solo cruising on a specific cruiseline forum recognized as a group, not unlike other specific groups listed. solo cruising is more popular than ever. 😊
  6. This was available on the Bliss 2 weeks ago. No issues, room steward was very accomadating. I did not see this and my room steward asked me if I wanted one. Excellent customer service.
  7. Hi everyone! I would be remiss if I did not talk about the MN State Fair on 'something on a stick' day. It is a large state fair known for its food on a stick; some of them are classics some are specialty made for the Fair. All are usually very good; nothing exotic because this is MN after all. I had a link to an article about it but couldn't get it to attach and work as a link. They listed 58 different foods on a stick....😉 Google it if you are really curious...lol! Shows my lack of tech knowledge on CC. @JazzyV thank you for listing me on the Cares list but I am now well recovered so can be removed. In my heart I believe kindness and good thoughts help heal. Hope all are having a good day. Take good care. Caron
  8. @graphicguy following along, new to your reviews. Was on the Bliss last August in Alaska, it was great! Bliss is my favorite NCL ship so it will be good to re-live the cruise. Agree, too cold for the Vibe; had a pass and could hardly use it.😊
  9. Hello everyone! It has been awhile since I have posted but have been a follow alonger/lurker. I was on the NCL Bliss PC in late Feb/March for 15day; had a great time! Weather was very good and had no issues with LAX, which is unusual for me. Not a favorite airport at all. Thanks @JazzyV for the call outs to me. Once I got back, woke up the next day with one of the most gawd awful viruses I have ever had! I am thinking it is the same thing that @durangoscots has! It has been 2 weeks for me, I am getting better, but day to day stuff is tiring. I hope it goes away soon.Tested negative for COVID several times. The whole thing has been nasty...enough about my struggles. My prayers continue to be with you all; this is a kind, generous and wonderful group of people. Visiting here about once a day soothes me on some level knowing there is goodness in the world. My thanks again to the keepers of the lists, no easy feat; the Food and Beverage department, the humor department (you people are very funny and I really enjoy the memes, many of which I can relate to) and of course those who let us into their lives quite often to share. My prayers especially for those in a struggle right now whether it be health, family or just even having to deal with the world we live in now. It is overwheleming to me at times. Celebrations are also in order to those with good things happening in their lives whether it be a cruise, other travel, good health, a good family, sometimes a small thing like I finished my laundry today etc.; these should be celebrated as often they are overshadowed by the not good things. That's enough from me today. Please take good care everyone. 🙏😊 Caron
  10. Hi everyone! From Acapulco; on my NCL Bliss PC cruise. As usual the internet is not always reliable 🙄. Been tough to keep up. We are back to LA on Mar 12th, this WE. All is good, have had great weather. Hope all are well, take care. 😊😎
  11. Hello everyone, I continue to follow and lurk but want to post about once a week; that seems to work best for me. First I want to wish my condolences, prayers and good thoughts to all who are struggling with loss, challenges and just things that are hard. Life is not always a cruise, just saying, I wish it was. I also want to say that I am happy for those who are celebrating and enjoying life. Cheers to you all! This past week has been quite the week here in the Twin Cities, MN area. @Overhead Fredlives in the St Paul area and I live more in the Minneapolis area. If anyone has been following the storms moving across the US, MN has been hit pretty hard. Where I live, we have 'received' about 15 inches of snow this week. Some got 20 inches of snow, but I agree with @Overhead Fred they were predicting at least 2 feet. But 15 inches of snow is not good! It closed down quite a bit of the cities and driving was not recommended by MNDOT. That is a pretty big statement because MN people will try to drive through any amount of snow, no kidding! We all have SUVs with 4WD for that reasonI think it was the wind and the drifting that was the bad part. Watching it on TV proved it was awful! I have been on pins and needles this week because I am scheduled to fly to Miami tomorrow for a 15day PC cruise on NCL Bliss. Lots of flights were canceled this week but I lucked out and so far it is a go and the weather is behaving; the winter storm has moved East. Sorry to those who live East of us. So, now I am finishing packing to go to Miami tomorrow for my cruise. Pretty excited to be in warm weather! Have a good weekend everyone, I will try to follow/lurk while I am on my cruise. Please take good care, virtual hugs for you all. OOOh, long message!!😊
  12. Sounds like a good day! I like that they have clergy onboard for (almost) everyone. I have had to turn my Passport in when I went on a Med and a BI cruise. The first time it was unsettling but all went well. I haven't played ring toss since many years ago, but glad it was fun, I am sure it would be now. It appears your cruise is all going well. Take care and stay safe.
  13. Hi everyone, Hope your Saturday's are going good. When I posted yesterday I forgot to tell you all that I bought the Bangrui can opener as was reommended here. I love it!! I think I have a bit of arthritis in my hands that only shows up when I try to open a can. Plan to buy it as gifts for my sisters who all cook, we learned from our Mom. @marshhawk, I love Death in Paradise and Vera! I watch them on my local PBS so they are past years shows. I am jealous that you have the current with BritBox. Tempted a couple of times to get it. @TiogaCruiser, I am 100% Polish, welcome! Have fun exploring all that comes with it. We have our traditions but they can vary from different regions in Poland. The food is great! National Drink Wine day.....yes please! Good evening all. 😊
  14. Hello Everyone, My thanks to the pillars of this thread who are continuing to support and ensure its daily presence. The things I learn everyday here are wonderful; every day is a school day my Mom always said. The days celebrated today are all important to our well being. Lots of people are caregivers, they come in all sorts of forms and do all sorts of things to help others. Many people here are caregivers even though they may not believe so. Kindness and believing it is the right thing to do often play a role. Public science, IMO, is for the greater good; public health/epidemiology, civil engineering and meterology/weather to name a few. All important to help us to live safe lives. I like the quote from Mother Theresa but I also believe that anything done with good intentions and love are great things too. The week has been a rolloer coaster in the weather department but this is Winter in MN!! Starting to pack for my next cruise; the PC on the NCL Bliss. Leave next week for a 15 day cruise. Looking forward to being warm! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Cheers to those celebrating; it is good to celebrate big and small things. Take good care and have a nice, restful weekend. Stay safe.😊
  15. Sid, Thank you for a great cruise review! So happy that you had a great cruise. We liked the Prima too. 😎
  16. I missed the sail aways...! My really pathetic internet would not connect to the PE port webcam. Living vicariously through all of you who saw and posted here. My thanks..have a good evening. 😊
  17. Hi Rich, I am continuing to follow along. Very interested, of course, in the Australia ports and activities. There seems to be a pretty good variety of things offered to do, on the ship. Saw a few things I would like to do, maybe learn how to play Pickle Ball...IDK ...lol. Thanks again for sharing your voyage with us. Take care and stay safe. 😊 Caron
  18. Hello everyone, Following along; want to wish everyone a good and restful weekend. It appears everyone has had a very busy week. Prayers for all because we can all use them. Cheers to those celebrating things. Take care all and stay safe. 😊 🙏 🌞
  19. Prayers for you, Kathi. 🙏 🙏 Stay positive, you can do this.
  20. Let me be the first to say, oh my gosh! Prayers are with you and your son. It leaves a person speechless when things like this happen on top of each other. Please take care and know people here are praying for you all. 🙏🙏🙏
  21. My mom and I loved sponge candy! Yummy! For some reason it is only available here (MN) at Christmas time. We always bought some and enjoyed it; not sure what is wrong with the rest of our family..lol. Now that she is gone, I still buy some and eat it in remembrance to her and our shared joy. Would love to eat the ice cream with it in it!
  22. Agree, this is probably the post Covid doings even if you are a good repeat cruiser. That's too bad. Sleep well.
