  1. Very likely not at Ward Cove. claa confirms the piers 2 or 3 in Sept . Lots better for you. sightcrr.
  2. I have not taken this tour but wanted to alert you to read up about the black bears at Herring Cove. Sept will be a good time to be there and you don't have to fly. Try to find out if the photo tour will take you there. Also read up on Ward Cove if your ship docks there. (8 miles out of town and 30 min bus ride). sightcrr.
  3. I have no idea but with four days two days will be traveling. One to get to Denali and one to get to Fairbanks. If you can you could get National Park bus ride at Denali to Pretty Rocks mile 42. That plus your A/C flight and you will be out of time. Just about every Princess excursion you could book on your own unless the providers won't book to non Princess guests. Never heard of what you are describing.
  4. The golf balls in the trees are likely bald eagles. I hope the plan works but something tells me there might be a close call then everything will change. sightcrr.
  5. Don't bother with an umbrella because it is to windy. You need a waterproof (not water resistant) outer coat and hat. Especially for Glacier Bay. sightcrr.
  6. In Ketch if at Ward Cove long ways out of town but may have golf carts to bus downtown. Long waits in line however.
  7. Since you brought up WP& YR you may have one more advantage to booking NCL. In years past they had the train cars right next to the ship and you didn't have to walk downtown. Without any history to go on this year I am guessing you will have a 100 yard tender or bus ride past rockslide and you will have a train car close to drop off. sightcrr.
  8. Watch youtube videos of each and decide which you want. Plane is for great vewing. Helo for great in flight plus landing on glacier. Helo my choice also. sightcrr
  9. The gardens is 30-45 min drive from the port. With short time in port if you want to go I recommend ship cruise. There are a few things to do within downtown which is 15 min walk but some things close early. It does stay light long time. The harbor and buildings are beautiful. sightcrr
  10. Don't forget to a least look at cruise line tours. Sometimes children are 1/2 price and they won't be on different tours. sightcrr.
  11. Sit on the left side of train going up. Mountains / valleys view is much better. If not to cold go to the end of train car on platform if you have chance. sightcrr
  12. Norwegian Bliss Bridge (Forward) Webcam / Camera - Norwegian Bliss Webcams - Norwegian Cruise Line - Cruising Earth Scroll down for bridge cam and futher down for track. Can follow along the week before to see the docks and area where ship is. If there are any HAL ships nearby check out those cameras. Pan, tilt, review & zoom. If close can get all kinds of good shots of your ship. Maybe on your return to SEA. NCL Sun from HAL. sightcrr
  13. White Pass Summit Excursion | White Pass & Yukon Route Railway (wpyr.com) Looks like wp&yr still have bookings for summit on 4/25 for 0900,1000 and 1:00 (none at 0800). In years past they held 10% of tickets for walkup guests from either rail pier workers or at the depot so if you can't get tickets from NCL try that. Won't help with NCL discounts however. This is old video but pretty cool. White Pass & Yukon Rotary Snow Plow (Narrow Gauge, Skagway, White Horse, Yukon, Canada, Alaska) - YouTube I am not sure if that is how they do it now a days. The Bliss will be there on the 18th so might get some more info on whether they were able to make the trip. Last I checked the webcam were inop. Caboose camera is looking right at rock slide area. With only one ship should be lots of room. sightcrr
  14. I forgot that your trip is early in the season and only your ship in all the ports except for SEA on last day. Since trip is early I bet the snow on the mountains will make the views speculator. webcam views: TheSnowCloud Juneau area Webcams sightcrr.
  15. So close to 4000 people doing shore excursions with either NCL, private or booking on the dock and that is just one ship out of several that may be in the towns. sightcrr.
  16. Here is the site that I go to for AK ship schedules and pier info. Been very good in the past. 2023 Schedules | Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska (claalaska.com) I think you are thinking it correctly as it says 0700-2015. Added info says Glacier Bay, 26th 06-1500 and only one ship. sightcrr.
  17. Looking at claa 2023 looks like pier 2. KTN-Ketchikan-2023-1.pdf (claalaska.com). Then pier map Ketchikan Cruise Port Guide - CruisePortWiki.com. With 2.5k people on ship I think you will have all kinds of time. You can search youtube and likely find all kinds of videos on the tour. Make sure you walk up creek street a little to look for seals and salmon. Ketchikan Duck Tour - Amphibious Duck Boat Excursion in Ketchikan Alaska - YouTube sightcrr
  18. Check youtube for Skagway hikes. Here is one. Yakutania Point, Skagway Alaska - YouTube Youtube will have someone that did every tour, hike, tourist site that there is. Watch out for old ones or ads to get you to buy something or buy tour.
  19. Maybe want to move you van 5/26 questions and replies to your roll call so at least all of your responses will be from people on the same cruise ship and date.
  20. Here is one of my favorite web cams with various shots updated about every 5-30 minutes. Juneau and ISP. One of the ISP is from top of zip line and you can see the weather at different times by looking at timelapse. TheSnowCloud Juneau area Webcams sightcrr.
  21. Glad you corrected my mistake. Sorry. I was not looking at correct times. There are faa web cams at Skagway (PAGY) and Fraiser Camp but not very user friendly. FAA WeatherCams sightcrr.
  22. White Pass Summit Excursion | White Pass & Yukon Route Railway (wpyr.com) I don't see any excursions available on 4/25. The weather you care about is Carcross YT Hourly Weather Forecast for Carcross, Yukon, Canada - The Weather Channel | Weather.com with some lows in the lower 20's F. Less than 3 weeks. I couldn't find any web cams working. sightcrr
  23. For Sept look into Herring Cove to see bears in the wild without airplane or helo. sightcrr
  24. Glad the past one worked out. My favorite in Ketch is seeing the eagles from the crab boat tour. Totem Bight State Historical Park (alaska.gov) is a quick city bus ride from Ward Cove away from town if time allows. sightcrr
