  1. Pleased to hear all was good with your cruise on Luminosa and you had a great time. Good news that there was no Covid. I enjoyed my cruise on Luminosa also.
  2. I have been following HAL for a long time because I like the size of their ships and their itineraries. However, genuine comments from their passengers always makes me think again.
  3. Why do you need an extension from Princess to be able to apply your FCC refund, from a cancelled cruise received in early December, to a future cruise in 2024?
  4. What always amazed me was how well dressed Melbourne people whatever the weather. I swear they mustn't put their winter clothes away. In summer you can easily pick the Queenslanders in summer clothes with an inadequate sweatshirt over the top, Most of my winter clothes are from Tassie, bought in summer.
  5. When the laundries closed, did they give passengers discount washing.
  6. Walking down you can visit an interesting old graveyard. The gravestones make fascinating reading - whole families of young children died.
  7. I feel sorry for the passengers. What a disappointment for destination cruisers.
  8. I don't think this is a political issue. It is a health issue.
  9. Breakfast buffet looks appealing I feel ships' chefs make an extra effort on the buffet food available on the second last day. So you are left with good memories of the food available?
  10. Thank you for explaining the effectiveness of anti fouling paint. Interesting information!
  11. Thank you for your most interesting thread, Julie, despite having a phone keyboard which was driving you nuts. I sympathise because I just switched from my phone to laptop to touch type this.
  12. Nice walk observing all the nationalities, seeing some passengers sitting with their luggage. Add an ice cream and it becomes a perfect way to fill in time before a cruise. My girlfriend departs on a cruise to NZ from Brisbane today, so I'm feeling in cruise mood.
  13. Well done. Took my friend years to get her money back from business class fares from Air Canada as credits were useless for senior cruisers unlikely to fly to Canada again. Yes I learnt through experience of world cruise travellers who were stranded all around the world when ships stopped cruising.
  14. Yes, we were lucky to have booked a cabin. The biggest story was a big dog, being shifted by a dog handler across the foyer, doing the biggest dog poo I've ever seen (on a packed ferry)! Lesson learnt don't travel without bookings in the off season. Everything was closed!!
  15. I'm the same early eater. So I had entree made to order omelette in buffet (6/6.30am), then breakfast in the dining room from 8/8.30 am. Luminosa didn't have lunch in the dining room, so breakfast lasted me until 5.30 pm early dinner.
  16. Ability to visit your son in the UK is priceless. I miss visiting both my daughters overseas annually because they live locally now. I mentioned that my girlfriend in Boston was given a trip to Italy by her only son. My elder daughter said "But we give you places to stay!". So true!
  17. Reminds me to always book airfares through cruise line because they look after passengers who book air through them. Otherwise you are on your own. Can you imagine in these times of high air fares.
  18. We stayed overnight on the ferry, which didn't leave port because of rough seas. There was a near riot when they wouldn't let passengers off the ship.
  19. Maybe locals celebrating New Year, like everyone else.
