Story time. Condensed Version. (aka crib notes). This will be our 9 th sailing on ALLURE. WE will be celebrating our 31 st wedding anniversary. Due to circumstances beyond my control (smart phone and computer illiterate) this is my second attempt. The following cruise story will include dialogue with pictures. PREFIX I thought I would do a live thread in book format, aka (story time). It seems when I write a post on threads I frequently one way or another turn it into a long drama filled passage for lack of a more better thesaurus words a “ non-fiction in the making. So here we go To begin with this will 🐝 our 9th sailing on the Allure of the ccccccccc’s. ( on one of my previous threads I posted in error the wrong number, guess I cannot count). And as we sail on this course we will celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary on August 10! Over the years we have sailed other RCI ships. Mariner, Freedom, Explorer, Oasis, and Symphony. But there is something about the Allure that entices us and we keep coming back. To begin with, we received our concierge letter on Tuesday. My name is Junior Allen along with my colleague Thaires A. da Rosa and we cant wait to welcome you onboard Allure of the Seas. We hope you’re ready for a wonderful cruise vacation with us. We’re delighted you’ll be joining us as we get back to our home at sea. Your health & safety are our top priority, so as we begin to set sail, we have new health protocols that are part of our healthy return to service. This has me amazed. We are not on the UDP and we have had our dinner reservations for awhile at pay restaurants. Mind you we only booked 2. But if many people booked 1-2 before hand then that could limit the selection for those who cannot book till onboard. Just needed to vent. Guess that discount is not for us, if we cannot get the times we want. But it may be great for others. Take care

I started using Dawn dish soap. I buy the small bottle and put in a ziplock bag and place in my shower caddy. It works the best for getting the smell of suntan lotion as well as cleans and gets the marks out of bathing suit and cover up. Like others have posted once I wring out I lay them down in a towel and roll the toll to get extra water out. Then I take the pant hangers with clips and clip my bathing suit bottom on the clips and drape and secure my tankini top on hanger. Place discreetly on balcony with chair back at balcony door, so no one sees blowing in the wind. Being on the 17th deck ocean view, no one can see anyway. In about 2 hours dry. Remove from outside balcony before we ever leave the cabin. Take care

We purchased a whole house generator 3 years ago by Generax( sp). We are about 2800 square feet. First had to get a new wiring in electric box to support the system Then had to have new gas line scavenged off the existing gas line to house. Then had to have concrete slab for foundation installed. Then of course had to buy the warranty for all that stuff. First 2 years free. Now we pay. It includes yearly inspection, we just had to pay for oil.....one time Installation fee. Now they said 24 months same as cash. Ding Ding Ding, put on credit card to get points. Paid in full the next month. When all was said and done in 2019 we paid a tad under $9000. It has been used a couple times, the longest was on a very hot and humid summer day for 5 hours. Glad we did it, the prices have really gone up. Take care

Exciting busy day ahead for us. All our vacation clothes have been washed and those that need ironed, done. Today organizing and putting together what will go in suitcases. From toiletries to shoes to bathing suits to documents.......................... This time we are down sizing...................LOL..................last time in May I took sooooo much I never wore. But the DH, well trying to get him to downsize is kinda painful.............what if you need this...........nope, I guess I am making room for him. So, if we are COVID negative on Thursday. Allure, here we come in 7 days.

I do not want to be known for “ fake” news but someone on another social media site posted one winner in lottery. Ticket sold In Illinois. Oh well. Back to Social Security. Take care.

He was our suite concierge on our May 14, 2022 Allure, With RCI he has two roles He told us that they are short on concierges and have at this time enough genies. Soon when the current genies get their breaks, more spots available. If he was adamant about staying as a genie, he had to extend the time till his next break. So, he is going to be on our August cruise as a concierge in the suite lounge. Then after his break, he will decide, genie or stay as concierge. He said he is leaning to genie.

Lottery. I only do scratch offs, but that amount of money one could win is unbelievable on that Mega Million as well as the chances of winning it. So I did what any gambler would do. I went to the store and when it was my turn I ask for $20 dollars of chances for that big lottery, I got two tickets full of numbers. You figure someone somewhere is going to win. In Disney World their is a ride called SOARIN that is in front of a 3D screen that takes you traveling around the world and I believe these falls are in part of the experience. Well it does look like these and it is an awesome ride.

Thank you for identifying a questionable comment. It could happen on ONE individual flight. You will not attain the official TSA pre-check if you had certain issues with the police (as identified with your profile that they have access to). Like Santa, they know if ".....You've been Good or Bad...." Totally random, but she went on to explain that 10% of all flights, not just your history of flying affects your chance. I guess I would have a better chance of winning the lottery, than not getting TSA pre check on your airline ticket. OK I'm playing that big lottery. Anyone want to chip in??? (LOL) I never play that one. The odds of winning are unthinkable. I would rather do scratch offs. (and the last 3 weeks of my $20 donation have been winless). Take care

Congratulations. We did ours a few years back at our *** travel club. We had to make an appointment on line and they came to the travel club site. It was an interesting experience and one thing the representative told us is that it is not uncommon that on occasion you could be selected to not attain the TSA Pre check during your for lack of a better word membership period. Even thought you qualified. I go, your kidding..............right? She goes, no, randomly selected. So you have a 10% chance of not getting it. We have had it almost 3 years and will be going for Global, once we can coordinate an appointment. So far so good we have not made the 10% club. Take care

In the summer when we host outside BBQ of course we always use paper products. But for birthdays and holidays and when we have indoor dinner parties of course I bring out the good stuff. But my paper products supply is diversified. I buy on sale at “PartyOn” or Dollar Tree. Only one year I used paper plates at Christmas. Not doing that again. The new green border with watermelons ( back right ) was this year’s purchase at Sams. Not on sale. But thought it was cute and got it.

Pictures of my 4 sets of China : First my moms. 1953 Then Uncle Jacks from Germany. 1950s Then my MIL. 1963: Finally mine 1991: All safely displayed. And we have a wash washy weekend twice a year to clean all the sets. Even though some of each gets used throughout the year.

Congratulations on your anniversary. Junior is still the concierge on the Allure. We sailed with him in May and he told us he will still be there in August when we sail in 2 weeks. He is delaying his role change to Genie till after his break, which will be starting in a few weeks. In May we got his letter around noon on Monday before we sailed. We requested our dinners to be booked as well as the comedy club, and he did that for us. Enjoy,

Disposable dinner ware vs. China plates In our house it started circa 1991 when I got married and registered for every piece of place settings as well as extra available serving side dishes. I received every piece and have a complete set of my Noritake Southern Lace. Then when my father took sick and moved in with us in 1995 I bought a new display cabinet for my moms set of china. Her set is complete minus one coffee cup, that broke in the 60's' Then The DH's mother passed away and we inherited her complete set of china and china case. Yup that makes three so far, but not done yet. My DH Uncle who passed away about 2 years ago, traveled Europe and when he went to Germany just out of college he purchased and sent home to his mom a complete set of China in the 1950's before the Wall went up. His set is unbelievably stunning. It is complete and a very beautiful pattern. It is properly displayed and I will post a picture of it soon. I cannot post pictures on computer, no clue how to do.. I will do from phone. So with 4 sets I usually end up setting the table with one of them at least once a month. I pull out the Waterford glasses as well as linen napkins in rings (display only I also place paper napkins). As far as clean up goes. There is no problem there. We have an understanding in our house. We are a team We share our duties For example when I cook. He cleans and puts everything away As far as emptying the dishwasher, not a problem none of the china dinner ware goes in it, they are all hand washed. Besides I enlightened him, that yes I will cook, and he kindly will clean up, and any time he would like to change rolls.................bring it on. So in 30 years, 49 weeks since we were married, he has never offered to change our arrangement. Oh, he can cook, well kinda sorta. He plays with food on the grill (after I get it ready), if you call that cooking. Paper plates. Oh yea, I love paper plates and probably have over 25 unopened dinner plates still in wrapper, I have so many different styles and prints.................. and silver ware with the napkin around the plastic ware. GFS has the neatest strongest type, When we have summer parties (picnics) we use it all the time. Take care

Ok Question. The price of our next summers Alaskan cruise came down. Now when our TA called RCI they told her since we booked and used our Casino discount we are not eligible for further discounts. Because we got the lowest price. But ii is not the lower price. Now of course we will check onboard in two weeks when on Allure. I'll probably make an appointment at next cruise desk. Just wondered if anyone has had to go through this. TY

Where we live in north Eastern Ohio many of the flavored alcoholic potent potables are a big hit Take for example Amaretto. Either on the rocks. Or better yet over French Vanilla ice cream. But the hottest ticket in this town seems to be Peach Crown Royal. And our local liquor stores only get a case or two and it is gone instantly. So while in Oxford Ohio we went to one of the bigger stores JUNGLE JIMS. And we patronized their booze section. No Buffalo Trace. (😔). But I got some Captains Spice Rum 100 since it is hard to get here. Of course the crown section had slim Pickens. So as I was paying my bill I go to the cashier how I was hoping to get Peach Crown. But I see the shelf is empty. She goes we keep it behind the counter. Limit one. So I got one. Texted the DH AND DD to come to counter and get one. DH did but DD could not because she left her drivers license at home. She goes. I’m not drinking after all do not want to harm the baby. So I didn’t bring it. Did not think I would need one. We go. It’s ok. The baby must be draining your brain. But you should carry some form of ID on you at all times. So I have 2 as gifts. One for my friends birthday and the other to the highest bidder. Later.
