  1. Finally. If you are in a suite/pinnacle and want to see a show. And you did not make a reservation. As you get near the gate keeper at the entrance you just walk by with your sea pass let them see the color. They will let you pass. They do not scan. For those not in a suite or a Pinnacle if you showed them the reservation on your Royal app you got in. I do not know how KEY. Players get in. Comedy club entrance strictly enforced. Have to have reservations. If not go in standby line and get in with the no shows. More answers to come. Be safe.
  2. Someone asked about other excursions. In May we swam with the sharks/fed them. It was safely controlled behind screened in pools. EXCELLENT!!’ It included Sea World/flamingos The dolphin show was excellent!
  3. Good afternoon from Allure of the seas. I will answer questions after this post about our day. To begin with the gangway was to open at 8:30 am. We leisurely walked down at 8:35 just to avoid crowds. After our sea pass was scanned we walked to check in and was directed to a line which was maybe 1/5 of a mile from ship. Just moments after we were directed to a bus. The bus was very modern and the air conditioner work very well. I’m guessing there were around 30 on this tour. Once we were on our way a very nice tour guide gave us information about the island. To begin with. Ever since they had issues with Venezuela and broke off all ties they can not travel to the country. They are totally off limits from a country a mere 39 miles away. Also. In they are still recovering from COVID. When it hit many islander’s went home to the Netherlands. And have yet to return. Pre COVID the population was 159,000 Post COVID the population is currently 150,000 As long as you have a pulse you will get a job. Upon arrival we went to the catamaran dive boat. Safety instructions. Rules for the dive. got are fins and masks. I got a life ring and held onto it when I snorkeled. We were directed to the area where the fishermen cleaned their fish However many fishers were in early and cleaned their fish out and threw in the water. Turtles ate early and were sleeping it off on the bottom of the ocean. I may have seen 2 turtles. One for sure. Many were upset because the way it was promoted and it did not live upto it’s expectations. Some Random pictures from the spouse. Something interesting though. Trying to figure out what the turtles favorite CD You can see the erosion on the cliffs from sea water and wind. So now it was time to return to port. The waves were 4-5 feet and the boat really rocked to it. Okay. Now the fun part. While the captain was preparing to go to idle to dock all of a sudden ((((((((BANG, LOUD CRASH)))))) The boat stopped dead in her tracks but as far as we could see we were drifting into those big cliffs. So now they open up the bench to the engine. And in his Dutch accent yelled up. “ ITS BROKE”. As we are drifting closer to the rocks. He does a temporary fix and we idle back to dock. Bud ride back to ship. It was done well Organized Very friendly. I would do again. Ty for following
  4. Good morning from Curaçao. Up at 6am. Last night was a great night for sleeping. A few good sea bumps but did not affect me. Rocked to sleep. We were on balcony and able to hear and see the mooring line shot out to pier. Then the locals tying it on that big support to tether us today. Breakfast was delivered at 6:31. We requested 6:30. Talk about efficiency. Today we swim with the turtles Excited. A little anxious. Rick is taking our underwater camera. That is all for now. Updates to follow.
  5. So I ventured down to the promenade to see what all the hype of “sales” were about. One table all around with jewelry Shiny fake pieces. One table with sweater like ware and beach bags So I went over to the “ real” jewelry store. I wanted to see what I could get with my $350 “signature” status. The very nice man who assisted me and was not rushing me out the door said the least expensive price of jewelry starts at $1000. He was nice. In the store was a section of clearance items. Some actually were rather nice. Now once again even with a sale. The prices were out of our budget. I wonder what tomorrows sales will be. later Time to get ready for “formal” night. I will be business casual. Catch you later.
  6. Slot pull day. These were our guidelines before we sailed. I want to share how they did it. This way when our cruise happens we as a group can vote and finalize plans. I just want to post how they did. Took 1 1/2 hours start to finish. Everything was shared with casino hostess before it started. Before it started there was a limit of 60. But almost everyone showed up and a few more. So 69 participants. The coordinator of the event Shannon asked the group if she can keep her sea pass in for points. Everyone was great full she coordinated. So at 1pm Ocean time we checked in submitted $20 to play Got our beads and a numbered tag where we put our name on. When we closed the registration (1:30pm) Shannon took the money and got $100 bills from cashiers. Our machine. As she was doing this they picked numbers in the order you will play. At the end of play the person who won the highest number got a bag a prizes. When it was done we had a net loss of $200ish dollars. Then the group voted to take the money go to a roulette table. Pick10 numbers and go for it. We lost. We had a very nice group of people. So as our time nears I think as a group we can use this event as a basis for developing ours. Stay safe.
  7. In todays Cruise Compass something interesting. MEET AND MINGLES FOR: German French Spanish Also we may have dodged a happening. Have not seen any quincentaras (sp) on board. Just a few adults in the making out late. You know the ones too old for teen club but not old enough to go to casino or legally drink.
  8. Health update. Ship is rocking back and forth back and forth back and forth Read on other site. Someone not doing well with sea sickness. I can see how it is happening. And probably there are a few more. I thought it was just me walking down a hall bumping into walls back and forth back and forth. 😜
  9. Everyone must be awake. Cell service is starting to give me grief. Trying to load one picture that shows daily information.
  10. The TV’s in the cabin channels have much to be desired. MSN FOX BRIDGE MOVIES X 2 KIDS/TEENS/AFULTS IN THE MAKING MUSIC X 3 TV GUIDE. BBC WASHY/WASHY NEXT CRUISE SHOPPING RECAP OF ONBOARD ACTIVITY I am sure I forgot a few. But who stays in cabin that long to watch. Tv usually on when we first get up/ getting ready for dinner/ bedtime. The old docking station for iPhone 5 still under the tv. I guess they want us to have a time keeper down stairs.
  11. So being techno illiterate the spouse found where can share our location. Also. What’s brewing off the west coast.
  12. We decided to make this a no sun day. Slept in and off to windjammer. Apparently many others did the same. Crowded.
  13. This past Saturday at Fort Lauderdale you just showed the boarding pass that shows as your sea pass. Damn that was wordy. They never checked out time. Even though we had 11am I just waved the paper. Gate keeper in no way could she see the checkin time on it. And directed us through the door. Then we met the Vaccine inspector. Showed her our negative test results. She then released the strap barrier. And we proceeded to the I PAD GIRL. First we went through human X-ray machine. And bags carryon went through conveyor to be scanned. She took our set sail pass, vaccination card passport and negative COVID TEST. Off to pictures Up the escalator to suite area. Be safe.
  14. Dinner was at Izumi. Where the Philippines play pretend Japanese cooks. Ours was a little lame. Not as interactive as the other 2. He cooked and was somewhat silent but his preparation was intense and the food was too much I had chicken and beef The spouse had lobster and beef Last time we could have both soup and salad. This time they asked you which one you wanted. Also food was abundant. Could not finish. But managed to polish off lava cake. Also our ninja did not tease with food like throwing a morsel and you catch it with your mouth open. His interaction with us needs to improve. Too quiet. Oh well the food was good. Oh if you booked before you cruised at home your price was the same. If you are doing it on the dining plan for dinner there is an up charge. We booked from home. I do not know how much up charge there was.
  15. So for those who have sailed and were able to see the directional ship. Question time: How many are on the Allure?
  16. We have done both Symphony and currently on Allure. You don t need lunch reservations. Just go and they will seat you. The one thing frustrating about the Symphony is the suite concierge in suite lounge sent a welcome letter. But did not give us the opportunity to make CK request. The letter said you had to do yourself. ( October 2021) Where as on Allure Junior made all our CK reservations as well as booking comedy club for us. . That was done before we boarded. I can only help that Symphony gets a concierge that is cruiser friendly. Other than that. Enjoy the ship. She is beautiful.
  17. So today we ventured to the pool that has umbrellas…. Sand pool? Saw a few chair hogs towels on loungers the 2 1/2 hours we were there. Bartenders very frequent. No trouble getting a drink. Pools crowded. Also we were going to get hot dogs at wipe out cafe. But it does not open till 12:30pm!! That surprised me.
  18. I turned on the TV to see the information on temperature outside, sea depth, and travel distance. Currently not showing. So I used the “FIND MY PHONE APP.” Now it shows where we are at.
  19. On our last sailing in May. I tried all the shower products. I found out that the body wash is okay. Shampoo tolerable. But the conditioner is bad. It seemed to make my hair feel sticky after rinsing for over 5 min. So on that cruise I asked if they have any of the L’ Octaine products. To my surprise they provided us with shampoo, and conditioner. The big bottles “pump’ dispenser. And a couple small bottles. So yesterday when I asked Marva if the ship had any bottles left. Her response was. Once all the cabins had the dispenser in the shower all of the other products will be donated to charity on the islands. So in other words. None available. I had a back up plan. I did purchase conditioner at Publix. So yesterday. When we returned. We found one bottle of L’Octaine shampoo In our cabin. and a few small bottles of conditioner. All the rest has been donated everything shower products are just a memory. At least it I won’t have hair that looks like I could make a donation to the kitchen and pre treat the pans so food will not stick. Shower installed holder for shower stuff Last of individual suite shower stuff. The Herbal essence conditioner is mine Also. Our towels for the pool are provided in our suite. We can bring back or leave at pool. Off to pool. Sea ya.
  20. Good morning from Allure of the seas at C. Went to bed around 1am The ship used it’s side by side motion to rock us to sleep. It did no work. It’s not a bad at sea motion. But the motion is probably making a few people not feeling well. I first noticed it coming back to the cabin last night. At first I thought. Damn I’m drunk. Not drinking all those rum and cokes again tonight. But when see others listing ……..to the left. …….then to the right it reminded me of BUFFEtT concert. It was then I realized I can blame the CCCCCCCCCCCCCC’s. Breakfast at CK. Then become a sun worshiping human being. Not taking pictures of breakfast. Every know what fried eggs softly made with sausage and toast looks like. Then off to the pool to visit all the towels on loungers. Stay safe. Oh want to hear something unusual. last night when I was playing in the casino the hostess came up to me and asked if I needed anything. I just said a winning machine. We chit chatted for about 5 min. Now I know you can be tracked in casino with you sea pass in machine. She was so sweet. Later
  21. And guess what the buzz is on board. Apparently there’s something naughty that came off the coast of Africa. To early to tell if it will impact our itinerary.
