  1. I’m sailing Seashore on December 10 and hoping there will be some decorations up. EM
  2. Make a list of the things that make you uncomfortable or approach a meltdown. Avoiding those things/situations may depend on the type of cruise line you choose. Crowds, loud noises, etc. There are a number of members here who travel with neuro diverse family members. You might also post on the board here for Disabled Cruising. Realizing you are not disabled, though disability can take many forms. Some folks there with neuro diverse family members might have suggestions. EM
  3. Also, are you wanting to drive to the port (NY,NJ, Baltimore…) or are you willing to fly to your departure port? Flying can add considerable cost, and you would want to fly in a day early which adds hotel costs. Close your eyes and tell us what you are seeing yourself doing on a cruise. What you envision doing can help use make cruise line/itinerary suggestions. EM
  4. Unfortunately you can only edit for about 20 min after posting. I once boarded Celebrity Summit in Bayonne for a repo cruise to San Juan. I couldn’t get into the safe. Neither could the people across the hall. Attendant came and opened them. He opened mine and started down the hall. I opened it an there was a big fat Wallet inside. I yelled down the hall for him to come back…he took out the wallet, did not want to paw through it, said he would come back with security. It was time for muster drill, so I had to leave. When I got back to the cabin it was gone. It needed to get ashore before the ship left because the ship wasn’t coming back there. Hope there was a phone number in it to call. This was in 2010, no smart phone for me back then. EM
  5. It isn’t huge, although some of the beaches look crowded from a distance, other sites are virtually deserted.
  6. This is not true. All entrees, from the chef’s choice on the main side and from the Mac & cheese down on the comfort side are included. And talk about waste, the person next to me who ordered the extra entree on,y took one bite that I could see. EM
  7. This is what the elevator screen looks like:
  8. It’s been explained in a number of Live from threads. The video runs all day in your stateroom. You are supposed to watch it and then dial the number at the end to certify you watched it, then go to your muster station to have your card screened. But I never saw the code. They come on the intercom and say at a particular time to watch the video, call the number and then go to your muster station. If you go early, there is no one there to scan your card. EM
  9. There is a forum here for UK cruisers, and you might get some insight there. EM
  10. It happens occasionally on CC. I grew up in central PA as a Pirates fan, moved to NYC for school and became a Mets fan, lived briefly in Denver before there was a Rockies team. Now a Braves fan. EM
  11. I don’t do YouTube unless someone embeds a link, and I don’t have any streaming services. EM
  12. I sailed Carnival Elation in March and they had a lifeguard at the pool. EM
  13. I just had the browse package and found it quite reliable. EM
  14. The Aurea cabins on deck 9 have awesome balconies. Try to get one on the starboard side as the ship usually docks at Ocean Cay with starboard side to the island, and you can view the nightly light show at the lighthouse from your balcony. This is my balcony in 9029.
  15. Just as on the Celebrity board where the Millennium and Constellation are affectionately referred to as Millie and Connie, maybe Meraviglia could be referred to as Merry. EM
  16. Actually, if you had been looking to starboard shortly after passing under the Bridge of the Americas, you would have seen Vigante Elegant, formerly Voyager and Alexander v Humboldt in drydock at Balboa. She is now in the Balboa anchorage. EM
  17. Looks like they are on Marella Discovery from Port Canaveral to Miami, NOLA, Puerto Plata and Barbados. EM
  18. The hurricane was a non-event for us. Some rain, not a lot of wind. The eye passed close to us, but everything major was on the west side. In this shot, we are the blue dot: But I used the waiting time to book a cruise. Another MSC, 7 days in Dec. on Seashore from Port Canaveral. I’m already mentally packing my suitcase…
  19. There are generally a dozen or so people waiting around for the doors to open, but I usually try to be there very early, so I can pick a seat where I won’t have to be peering around a tall person. EM
  20. You reserve it by tapping your card on the touch screen or in the app. When you get to the theater an attendant scans your card to see if you have a reservation. Five minutes before show time they start allowing in folks without reservations. This is because the theater can’t hold everyone so to avoid the crowding. Most shows have three showings per night. There is no seat assignment .EM
  21. That might have been from my Live from on Seaside. The couple at the table next to me ordered an extra entree. After they left I asked my waiter if they were charged, and he said yes. EM
  22. Good morning…but it doesn’t look much like sunshine. But I’ll bet some will still get sunburned… Here is a progression of QE into the Miraflores second lock. From the gates opening and closing, to the exit open to move on toward the Pedro Miguel locks across Miraflores lake. Unfortunately just after I got the last capture, the canal cams went down. I hope it’s not all day. In the shot from the Cocoli cam you can pick up the red funnel in the other locks. She was still in the first lock then. Anyone on bow or balcony recognize themselves?
  23. No. You can do it in the app after boarding, or on the interactive boards around the ship. EM
  24. Wouldn’t work on MSC though, as outlets are not live unless bathroom light is turned on…which defeats the purpose. EM
  25. I bought those before my last cruise and they work great. I was on Seaside and I put it on the wall right across from the toilet. That way if it times out before you are done, a slight movement turns it back on.
