  1. And your question is? Cruisedeckplans has pictures of 12882. EM
  2. It looks like each of your 14 & 13 day cruises are sold also as two shorter cruises. If that is the case, you should be able to treat the intermediate stops in Miami as a port day, leaving as an early walkoff. I would ask guest services for the consecutive cruiser pass to get back on. You would still have to go through security, and I believe they want you back onboard two hours before leaving port. But you would need to ask about that at guest services. EM
  3. How close together are your cabins? Let me tell you how it is supposed to happen. The evening before turnaround day, you should get a letter explaining the process, where to meet and when, and some green tags for back to back baggage if you are changing cabins. I don’t know if you have to pack up, or if you can leave the hanging stuff for your cabin steward to move. I did a B2B this month on Seaside, and changed cabins. But my new cabin was only four down the hall, and had the same attendant. She cleaned the new cabin early so I could move it. As I said, that’s what should happen. I never got the papers or tags. Nothing. I made at least four trips to guest services and they kept saying I would get them. Finally, they gave me a copy of the letter, and the green tags. There was a separate section of the guest services desk that had a sign for continuing cruisers. That’s where you go to get your new cabin cards. We met in a lounge and when all groups had been called, they came and got us and walked us off, through immigration and back on. There were 19 of us, half were contract engineer crew. There are instructions in case you want to go ashore instead of waiting for all debarking guests to clear. They will give you a little card sized paper like an in transit pass to avoid checkin when you return. I will include a pic of what I was supposed to get…which showed up on my bed in the new cabin in the afternoon of turnaround day. I think it was failure of cabin steward to deliver…
  4. That looks like it might work when traveling with children who are not comfortable in upper bunks. EM
  5. I would also post this in the Florida Departures board. EM
  6. Years ago they had a ‘no sugar added’ cheesecake that was the best cheesecake I have had on any ship. It was a small square, maybe 3”, perhaps 5/8” thick. Just right for a diabetic…. But it had disappeared by 2013. EM
  7. Just to clarify, first time on Seaside I had taken my previous cards from Divina and Armonia. They didn’t work. Only the Seaside card worked. EM
  8. @maehara I hope you don’t mind me copying your pictures. I like to have examples when people ask questions like this. EM
  9. Inside and ocean view (OV) cabins will have bunks which may come down from the ceiling, or be mounted on the side walls and be very annoying. Other cabins vary with age. The oldest with balconies will have fold out couches (except Armonia/Lirica class whose balconies were originally OV cabins and have bunks on the walls). I think Fantasia class only have the couches, but newer classes have the bunk sofa also, where part of the bunk lifts up to form an upper and lower bunk. EM
  10. On Divina, any card would work. On Seaside it had to be ship specific, can’t remember if it had to be cruise specific. EM
  11. Hurricane Idalia should not affect Seascape as she is going around the eastern end of Cuba and the storm will be in mainland USA by the time she reaches Cozumel. EM
  12. Look at the deluxe ocean view cabins on Dream class and newer. Split bath…only one toilet but two showers and sinks, and extra closet space. EM
  13. What port do you want to do this from? Are you on a partial transit, or a cruise that just calls at Colon? EM
  14. Interesting, because cruises from up north that were supposed to go to Bermuda were redirected to Nassau, due to Franklin. They would have done better to go to Canada. EM
  15. With Idalia making her way toward us, we are making preparations. Topped off gas tanks yesterday. Stocked up on staples for cold meals in case we lose power. We have solar for fridge and freezer, but not stove, microwave, a/c. But don’t think it will be strong enough to knock out power by the time it gets to us. Tomorrow to move porch furniture and plants into the garage. EM
  16. I wish I was on the ship, instead of sitting here in the path of the hurricane…. EM
  17. Just a hint: there are small buses that take you to the train. One bus for each car of the train. I’m a bit slow, so was in the last bus, which got me in the last car. Best views from the rear of the train! It was not crowded at all when I went, but that was more than 10 years ago. My tour did the bus part first, with the train bringing us back to town. EM
  18. In the regular cabins there are buttons above the card slot where you can request Do Not Disturb, and Service Cabin. EM
  19. You might get his attention if you post on the Seaside roll call for September 17. EM
  20. Infinity, I believe. There will be some noise from moving of loungers on the deck above. EM
  21. I just tried a dummy booking and no matter what category you choose, it is only Bella. It says suites and YC sold out. I saw the all the segments up to 28 days. EM
  22. Those two bars on deck 14 are outside, pool area. There appear to be some few tables there, so you might hear chairs scraping. Suggest you go to cruisedeckplans.com and peruse the deck plans. You can see what category the balconies are. You will notice the aft facing balconies are deepest on deck 12 and become progressively shallower until deck 9 where they are hardly more than Juliet balconies. The lifeboats are slightly below the deck 8 balconies but not up against them. There is a sort of promenade on deck 7 but no view as the lifeboats obstruct it. We had a balcony on deck 8 on Divina and did not have any problem with our view. EM
  23. Do not book any cabin that says junior in the description. They will be small. The junior balconies have no seating area and a shallower balcony. Any balcony cabin with a B on it has a tub/shower rather than a walk-in shower. This takes up a bit more cabin space so there is no couch, only an easy chair. But those cabins are only for two, so if you are traveling with others in your cabin you won’t have the tub. In balconies the bed for 3/4 persons is a foldout couch. You won’t have all the bells and whistles for kids that Royal has. You book by Experience. Bella is the least expensive. Fantastica is next. The cabins are the same size, just location differs. Those two categories only offer fixed seating dining in the MDR. Next up is Aurea experience which offers My Choice dining. All food venues other than MDR are within the buffet. No grill by the pool, etc. There are for fee specialty restaurants. EM
  24. Princess, HAL, NCL. Carnival used to visit once very early in the season, once very late. But not recently. If you are looking for a cruise that goes to Glacier Bay, go to cruisetimetables.com, choose ‘cruises to’ and under z United States, choose Glacier Bay. EM
  25. It’s in between. I’ve measured it at 66”, as opposed to 60 for the standard Queen. EM
