  1. I've used NordVPN in South America and a TA from FL to Europe with no problems. We are taking a different Cruise Line to French Polynesia in January and from what I can read I'm not sure Starlink is available in that area yet. I didn't think there was much coverage in South America either but it was great last March/April.
  2. From what's been reported from sailings the last couple of weeks the starters consist of the old every day options and soup and salad. I think you will find that most of the daily changing apps have been removed.
  3. The room can't be locked as it's a muster station on M and S class ships. On E class the Retreat Lounge is not a muster station and does have key card access.
  4. I've not had much trouble with Delta even with minimal time chages. I just tell them I'm joining a cruise and that it's too tight for me. But they are dealing with FBC so I believe changes have to go through them.
  5. I didn't realize this before I saw this menu for a UK sailing. They are charging a 20% gratuity on the $19.99 upcharge Filet (included in the UK price)? I thought the dining staff was already paid a gratuity in my auto grats. I'm not anti tipping but really in the MDR where you have already tipped these people? I understand it for specialty dining as it's different servers than the ones in your assigned dining room where your tip is supporting your assigned wait staff.
  6. All set. Found a United return which was better than any replacement AA flights and was $100 less pp. Called FBC wait time of about 1 minute and the lovely agent rebooked within 15 minutes and got us great seat assignments.
  7. Thanks all. I suspect AA won't touch it but I'll try then give FBC a call. I have 2 alternates which work better (1 stop vs 2)
  8. Before we start I wouldn't have used FBC except that it was over $2000 less pp than the airlines for a TA in March. We wouldn't take the TA with the prices the airlines are charging. We had a 11:40 BCN -> LHR -> RDU on AA. There is only 1 direct flight from LHR to RDU daily. AA has moved that departure from 2:30 pm to 9:30 am. Today I received notification from FBC that there was some sort of change and we will be notified at some point in the future what those changes are. I immediately went to the AA site and can see that they now have us on BCN ->LHR ->ORD->RDU adding an additional stop. There are a couple of 1 stop alternatives BCN->JFK->RDU and BCN->MIA->RDU which would be much better. Has anyone been successful with calling them now and getting them to request the alternate flight. Yes I know this would be easy if I had booked direct with the airline. But again $2k pp difference in price. I'd like to get this change confirmed sooner than later as they are Premium Economy and available seats are limited.
  9. You can book onboard then transfer to the TA with the group rate and still get the bonus book onboard OBC. You do have to increase to full deposit to be put in the group though (Celebrity Rule).
  10. Just to be clear the to do the interview on arrival you must have your conditional approval for your application AND be arriving on an international flight When going through the CBP checkpoint you inform them that you want to do your GE interview.
  11. I live in Raleigh NC and the closest appointment centers are Charlotte or Richmond VA, both 3 hr drive. Neither tend to have appointments available and it's too far to go to chance a walk-in. When I first got approved 5 years ago, same issue no appointments available. We had a cruise scheduled out of San Juan so I checked there. Appointments available any day/any time. We ended up getting our interviews there. Fast forward. I just applied for my first renewal. Conditional approval was given in 2 days BUT required an interview and asked to schedule an appointment. Again none available locally. I was browsing the list of appointment centers and noticed Aruba. We are cruising to Aruba in Oct and great the day we are there is one of the days they have appointments. Sign me up. About a month later I get notified than I'm now approved! Now when I look Aruba is not listed as an appointment center. I guess when they closed they looked at my application and just approved it. My point is be creative. If you are flying back into the country the interview on entry is probably the easiest way to do the interview.
  12. Not if you have a non refundable deposit. With NRD the penalty would be anywhere from $100 pp to the full deposit amount depending on when you booked. Any remainder would be FCC which would be useless if poster is not going to sail Celebrity due to their vaping policy.
  13. I've also been thinking it would be more cost effective to combine the shoreside and consolidate the back office operations. To me I guess it would be interesting to hear her description of the Celebrity brand and how it is differentiated from RCL and other mainline cruiselines. Of course it would be more honest to hear her off the cuff response to a question like this but all answers on this webinar will be well crafted PR/marketing reviewed responses, not worth my time to watch.
  14. With a 1:30 port arrival I suspect the MDR might be open for lunch. I've been in this situation while in a suite and Luminae would be open for lunch. They know everyone is wanting to leave as soon as they dock and the buffet would be an absolute zoo if they needed to get everyone through in about an hour.
  15. I believe it's still the same. So you would have to book now with a refundable fare, cancel and rebook while onboard.
  16. Yes, but very bad marketing if you can't get the end date of your promo correct in 2 places and terms change before the reported end date albeit the terms improved.
  17. Those negative questions will probably be filtered out and she probably won't even see them.
  18. You never pay for anything in the Retreat Lounge (well at least up to now). They will accommodate within reason but I believe technically the offerings are limited to whats available on the Premium Beverage Package.
  19. They need to clearly identify itineraries where it's going to be allowed. Waiting until you are onboard is not acceptable. Then people can actively boycott those itineraries.
  20. Yes it states the longevity for the overall program (when the fancy name runs out). But the daily thrashing of the "extras" I find very annoying.
  21. The fact they are accepting bids doesn't mean there is any availability.
  22. Just received this email which claims the promo ends in 5+ days. On the main Celebrity page it shows this version ends tomorrow night 2 Days ago it was 2nd Guest 75% off and up to $200 discount (not OBC) Yesterday it was 2nd Guest 75% off and $50 OBC It's just crazy.
  23. Yes OBC can be used in the casino. They give you promotional chips which you have to gamble, any winnings are paid in regular chips. Only regular chips can be cashed out. Slots are similar. The cage will either load "promo" credit on your seapass card or will give you a slip.
