  1. Doublecheck the Italy date is 16 May and not an older display that wasn’t updated when you went to it. I clicked on the thread posted above, then went to it via the Celebrity website and it states within 2 days prior, which means 2 days prior or the day prior. I’m booked in Oct ‘22 so obviously might change, but I’m in Italy 3 days prior and will use the test kits I take with me. Den
  2. That’s what I get for even suggesting medical advice…..but I did stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
  3. The Celebrity website shows Solstice being Revolutionized in 2026. Someone reporting they had issues with the internet on a previous cruise has as much chance of being an issue on a following cruise as flipping a coin. We cruised on Apex in Nov ‘21 and someone posted they could barely get on. Got on and had No issues with internet. It was fine. I sent photos, but i didn’t download some video movie. `` I’ve seen a number of threads here describing how much some really enjoyed the Suites on Solstice and even though not ‘revolutionized’, loved what was Michale’s Club which is something I enjoyed prior to it becoming the Retreat Lounge. We print our luggage tags and do just fine. I’m ‘easily entertained’ and I’m not the OP,…each of us have our levels of what is required. From the sound of the post, I’d consider cancelling. I’m on the Solstice in July; been on the Solstice 3 times prior and loved Her. But I’ve not done Retreat, so…… den
  4. I wouldn’t worry about it at all and especailly dont take the time to make calls and be on hold. As stated above, not immediate and it varies……and they asked to see my card when I checked in. But I don’t think I had a photo of it back in Nov, so I think it may change now. I just filled mine out for a July cruise and will just sit back and wait. den
  5. But we can’t use ArriveCAN unless it’s within 3 days of the Victoria port of call which is at the end, as it is for most Alaska cruises. So I guess we do that onboard prior to getting to Victoria? den
  6. We are doing the Alaska Seattle-Seattle Celebrity cruise that stops in Victoria for the evening. Do we need to fill out the ArriveCAN while on the ship 3 days prior to our Victoria call?
  7. appreciate heads up on mixing over-the-counter stuff and drinking, but all the sites I’ve seen on this, medical sites, state using alcohol, and Tylenol as prescribed is fine. One medical site said not to exceed 4000 mg/day after drinking which is 8-10 pills. That’s a lot. Non-prescriptions can be tricky for individuals as we all know. My 90+ mother started seeing aberrations. took her to her DR and the first thing the DR asked her was how much pain pills was she taking She was taking Advil every time she felt a twinge, morning noon and night. He banned her from those. She was Very upset and i knew she’d ignore him, so I got a bottle of placebo pills, marked them as Pain Pills and told her they were Very Powerful and to be careful taking them. She took them and said they were fantastic and she had no pain at all. too bad I can’t use that type of ‘medicine’ to fix my head after having a few drinks……I’m sure its just psychological that I get a headache after a few good ones but I still get them! A weak mind over matter. den
  8. Did the Check-in using the Celebrity App today for my 01 July Solstice Alaska cruise and all went well. I’d used the App back in Nov ‘21 for our Apex Thanksgiving cruise and it was a bit more tricky then. The only show-up times were 3pm until later in the month and then it opened up to earlier times. And it got hung up at times, but not this time. This check-in was very clean and straightforward. Typed in the personal info, then scanned my passport and it imported all of it - you use your camera and it has a box at the bottom to box-in the passport info at the bottom of the info page. I put in the vaccination and booster info and uploaded photos of the cards, then took my photo. All worked just fine using my iPhone. It works fine on the iPad too. You can use you computer and go to the Celebrity website, but no photo taking of course (well using most). I took a photo of my Vaccination Cards prior and had them in an ‘Album’ on my iPhone so I could upload those instead of taking the photo for check-in. I then downloaded the Xpress Pass and added it to that photo album named with ‘Solstice/Alaska’ to get to later. So all went well…much better than earlier. This was open 45 days prior to my cruise. My Oct 24 cruise says check -in opens 8 Sep, again about 45 days prior or so. Den
  9. After reading @SerraG, I hate to even post what I take: Tylenol; sunscreen (usually never use it); 1st Aid kit (very simple). Den
  10. 46 days for our Solstice Alaska Family cruise…..Booked tours and starting to get ready. Got to let the family know to make sure they have the X App downloaded; checkin opens up tomorrow! den
  11. I book with a TA and they send me a Celebrity Confirmation with all the info and codes. You don’t need to book directly. And my TA makes sure there are no mistakes and corrects them if there is. kind of what TAs do n den.
  12. I bought it for the OBC not to play the market. den
  13. I misread….it’s not the Apex it’s your cruise on the Silly! den
  14. None of us are ‘in the know’, but my assumption is the ones tests at the terminal will be held there for extended times. Waiting to take the test; taking the test; waiting for results; discussing results and then being cleared. So testing all at the terminal for a 1,000 or so, that would be a Major effort and a Major time constraint. And we’d All be complaining that we had to wait so long when we could have taken the test prior and just walked through. I’d like to think it would be a great fallback if we ran into issues testing ourselves. Den
  15. My view is opinions on noise level is much the same as opinions on restaurants and menus…..very subjective. i found the E-Class to be quite calm and less noisy. Yes, there will be some venue that is too noisy….for you….but there are more quiet spots on E-class, in my opinion. For M-Class the ships were quite fine also. S-Class which I love, could be noisy….for me…..when the band was in the Grand Foyer which is open all the way up to the Deck 8 or so. But again found many quieter spots. I never found the theater shows to be overly done. Den
  16. Yup. Not out of the Med; not as many easy ports to call in. And I think they are making a 13N run of Beyond is to get Her to the US being a new ship. We were on the Reflection out of Barcelona on Her TA to the US after being launched and they cut a port to make sure we were on time to FLL for the ‘festivities’. no idea what the ‘criteria’ of TA lengths. There’s an 11N on the Apex, yup out of Southampton, but it’s in Oct ‘23. back to RCI Stock. I won’t say how much I bought in at prior to the major crash in ‘08, but it went up to 180 or so in late ‘19. When I bought in, my advisor told me not a good stock, but I told him even if it dropped to a ‘penny stock’ I’d make money from the OBC’s. He was skeptical until a year later, then he bought in! den
  17. For TA’s, there is 1 16N, 3 15N, 7 14N with 3 in ‘22, not really any different than prior to Pandemic. Yup, a few others are 13N, but my 4 TA’s 2 were 14N and 2 were 13N. No exactly sure a 13N is ‘in a hurry’. Den
  18. @JamieLogicalis right. I switched cruises and wasnt charged the $100. This was done by my TA. My TA said something along the line of: “This guy has cruised with you Numerous times…..are you sure you want to charge him $100 to move from one to another which took 30sec??”. Love TAs. I use to book on my own (I still pick my cruise and call the TA) thinking I had more flexibility, but in truth with a responsive TA, I get all the ‘flexibility’ I had before, and a lot more from the TA…..and no on-holds or misunderstandings, or Me not reading the contract/whatever correctly. den
  19. So someone who thinks they got a cold from standing in the wind and doesn’t think it’s a Virus (we all do understand a cold is a virus, and you don’t get it from a cold wind, right?) and wont report it because they heard somebody else sneeze who I guess got the non-virus cold from the wind. Got it. My assumption is they Know it’s probably COVID. And they ‘obviously’ wouldn’t self isolate let alone contact the medical personnel. But glad the poster brought Tylenol. I wonder if they brought along the leeches to draw the bad blood out too? Personally, the reason I’m concerned going on a cruise isn’t because I may get isolated, it is because there are people onboard who contract COVID, know it or suspect it, and hide it thus spreading it to so many others. But I face that situation here in my area, so unless it gets worse, I’ll enjoy my cruises. Den
  20. If Anyone is playing video poker or really any of the casino games because they want to be a ‘winner’,……good luck. I’ll play a bit with $20 and ‘enjoy’ it for whatever reason I play any game of chance. Up Down Equal. The diff between 91 and 94% is of little matter to chump-change players such as I….and I’m well aware the casino is living off my type of player. I don’t go around looking for what is the ‘best odds’, I play what I enjoy, and it isn’t that important or a focus at all. Den
  21. Many of us arrive at the departure port 2-3+ days prior to the cruise, and can’t take the test at home prior. So we bring the tests with us and test there. So as to lower the risk of testing positive after flying to the departure location, we usually test a week or so prior using local pharmacy or whatever, not the on-line tests, then we bring an extra test with us ‘just in case’. Someone who has done a Celebrity tour prior could chime in if Celebrity provides testing while on the tour. But taking one’s with you should cover you just fine. Den
  22. I’ll light a ‘special’ candle in celebration . den
  23. I’d rather Covetton House have shops on Celebrity instead of Goop. And I’ve seen Ms Biles interviewed and in action, and she is a Great pick.
  24. Yeah, but I think it’s because they accepted my ‘zealousness’. In truth, I tried to be ‘nice’ even when I was ‘haughty’. Den
