We were on that cruise, too, and were disappointed that expedition toys were only briefly available and only to show them off. Like you, we feel the expedition nature was oversold. Once they get all the permissions in place to use the toys, I think the cruise would be as advertised. However, we thought that in general the cruise was excellent and enjoyed most if not all of the tours We also thought that the Octantis was beautiful and extremely well designed, and the crew and staff were excellent. The food was generally very good and the service excellent. We were also on the National Park tour you accurately described, although our bus did not have to wait for 30 minutes to pick up the sack lunches. But we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in the Park on our own. I guess we wouldn't agree that Saguenay and Cap aux Meules could have been skipped. We had a very good tour on Saguenay which included very interesting wine-tasting and gin-tasting stops. Our tour in Cap aux Meules included an excellent beer tasting along with several very scenic stops. In both cases we enjoyed seeing the local village culture. So overall, with the caveat of being prepared with the proper permissions for the use of the toys, we would recommend the Canadian Discovery cruise.

I should have clarified my porthole statement. The windows are round, but larger than the traditional porthole.

An online photo shows it as a port hole. I can't post the link since it's a travel agency, but if you Google "Sirena 7006 C1 Ocean View" you should be able to find the photo.

I think you may have missed the clarification of the apparent discrepancy. CC has paused registration for them on its site, but Azamara is still organizing them on its site.

We registered for our cruise, many moons ago, but I couldn't find it on the CC site when I wanted to confirm our registering. But above comments, it's paused on CC and not on the Azamara site. Good to know.

O doesn't do Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle events. My experience is that someone on the Roll Call organizes the "who" from the Roll Call participants then arranges a place and time on board. @LHT28has done this and may have advice.

Upgrade has the same bandwidth as the free connection. The only difference is they open the streaming ports for access.

O is simply refunding the amount you paid for the Life excursions, not the value you got for it. Why would they refund you $200 in SBC, for example, for an excursion for which you paid $100 when you purchased OLife?

Tellus told me today that it will take several days for Viking to review the changes made by Canada and it is unlikely Viking's protocols will reflect these changes by October 1.
