  1. I know I signed up for this. I was not entirely happy but liked the ship. An additional port doesn't have to be in the close vicinity. They could add either Grand Turk or Amber Cove which are the two extra ports for the 10 day cruise. And, I know a port can't be added at the last minute but this is not a last minute issue. They have known about the Bonaire situation for a long time.
  2. I understand what you are saying but in this case HAL is still offering the Eurodam on a 10 day Southern Caribbean itinerary with 6 ports. My question is why there is a 2 port reduction on a l day reduction cruise. And why is a port not substituted when there is a cancellation? And this is not a last minute issue. They have known about the Bonaire limitation for a couple of years.
  3. I'm not complaining about Bonaire limiting the number of ships. I'm disappointed that HAL doesn't schedule an adequate number of ports in the first place and then doesn't replace ones that are cancelled. I sail for the ship but also enjoy stopping at various ports.
  4. When the Rotterdam started a 9 day itinerary for the Southern Caribbean Seafarer it only had 4 ports scheduled even though the previous 10 day itinerary had 6 ports. So you would think that to eliminate one day would eliminate one port and there would be 5 but nope - only 4. Now, because Bonaire has limited cruise ships to one a day, that port stop has been eliminated from many sailings and there are only 3 port stops. This seems to be an inadequate number of port stops and I wonder if they are encouraging this either to save fuel by going slower or perhaps to keep people on board to spend money and increase revenue.
  5. But why would they reschedule the Eurodam and Rotterdam if they were going to cancel them?
  6. I know. It also shows a Royal Caribbean ship on April 3 with the Rotterdam. I don't know how they will resolve this situation. And, HAL doesn't advise any changes until way after the last minute.
  7. The website bonaire.portcall.com shows the cruise ship schedule. They are showing the Rotterdam in Bonaire on April 3. However HAL is still showing it as April 2.
  8. People on the roll call for the March 17, 2024 Panama Canal cruise are reporting that they are being notified that the itinerary is being changed to a Caribbean Wayfarer.
  9. It used to be offered on the spring caribbean cruises and then it went away. But someone on cruise critic advised calling reservations and that worked. No problem to add HIA for $50 per day. I don't know why it was no longer listed for sale online when I accessed my booking.
  10. Do you think there is any way they would change it to just Statendam?
  11. Are they taking reservations for the sale yet?
  12. I was just talking to a rep at Holland America and asked about the Labor Day sale. He said that they had no information yet from marketing. I find that hard to believe.
  13. I wonder why we have heard about the March 17 sailing but not any of the others. Will all the fall 2023 and spring 2024 Panama Canal cruises be affected?
  14. I wonder why they would eliminate the port calls at Cartagena and Costa Rica unless they are thinking of a totally different itinerary.
  15. I don't see why you couldn't cancel your booking. They would probably even refund your $2 deposit. It's probably a good idea to cancel before you attempt another booking for the same cruise.
  16. Are you pushing "explore cruises" at the top of the screen where it is advertising 60% off? That puts a filter on. Instead go down a little further.
  17. They seem to be there now. Maybe you had a filter on that excluded March.
  18. I just saw an article which said that the Panama Canal Authority will restrict transits for the next ten months. I guess that's why the spring 2024 Panama Canal transits are being cancelled.
  19. Why would they cancel a cruise stop that is six months away? How could they know what water conditions would be like so far away?
  20. I don't think the Nieuw Amsterdam has had a drydock in over five years. We were on the ship almost a year ago and there seemed to be a number of issues that needed to be fixed.
  21. You can always try. They could move you if another balcony cabin is available and you get a reasonable customer service rep.
