  1. I am almost certain that you have to book through Carnival. A gift card in most cases is basically cash that you can only spend with a certain merchant. In this case, the merchant is Carnival. If you book through Expedia, Expedia is the merchant.
  2. PVPs are marketers who have sales targets to meet. They might do it once as a courtesy for a current client who wasn't aware of the policy (which is relatively new), but the vast majority aren't going to provide service for cruises that they aren't getting credit for, nor should they. That's what the general customer service line is for.
  3. And I would never ask my PVP to do work related to a cruise that they don't get credit for.
  4. They can, but they don't have to. If you book online and then contact the PVP, they are helping you for free.
  5. ALWAYS call your PVP first. They have changed the policy so that if you reserve a cabin online, they don't get credit for booking the cruise, and they can't help you with that booking once you do that.
  6. I know there is it the area where they serve the gelato?
  7. Is this just one of the stations on the buffet? Those aren't usually listed separately on anything published.
  8. Makes sense - the stock is for Carnival Corporation, not Carnival Cruise Line alone.
  9. I would rather they have a bunch of upcharges than raise the price of the base fare to pay for amenities that I never use.
  10. Yep. That's kind of the way business works.
  11. We just did a 21-day B2B on Pride in Europe in a Deck 1 Ocean view, and we had a great time! And if most people don't like Ocean Views, I am good with that. It lessens the demand for them and lowers the price.
  12. It depends on the scheduled debarkation times. You can look it up on the Hub app when you board the ship.
  13. I have been on a cruise where all of the shows were "in concert". All of the performers sang the songs from the show while sitting on stools in street clothes. It was right after the restart and I am guessing that one or more of the performers had Covid. But to have no shows at all - I don't see that happening.
  14. The idea of not having any shows is ludicrous. And if that happened to be the case, there would be folks on CC and on John Heald's FB page demanding cruise credit.
  15. Yes. It won't matter what time you pick, though. They process all the b2bs together in a group.
  16. We love ocean view cabins. The actual cabin is more spacious than a balcony. We have had balcony cabins before and found that we really don't spend as much time out there as we think we will.
  17. Just go as soon as you get on the ship and be done with it. It takes less than 5 minutes. There will be people to point you to where you need to go.
  18. People are demanding compensation because crew members are speaking another language within their earshot? Now I have heard everything.
  19. Soda is included, as well as specialty coffees, milkshakes, bottled water, etc.
  20. John Heald weighs in on the language issue. The comments are noteworthy as well. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=864441291710445&id=100044337464408&mibextid=675ZYk
  21. My guess is that he complained directly to an airline's social media account, and they for sure monitor those. I am not so sure about a third party message board like Cruise Critic - or at least they don't read those as diligently as their own accounts.
  22. Wow, I have never heard of that happening before. I bet if you had left some luggage, you would have been fine. It certainly makes sense that the steward thought your drinks and jacket were left behind by the previous guest.
