  1. They have vegetarian and fish options at every meal in the dining room. And just today, John Heald just announced a gluten-free menu on North American ships
  2. The lack of an Italian pay restaurant doesn't have to be a surprise. All restaurants and other amenities are clearly marked on the deck plans. As far as the map channel goes, I have never been on Elation, but I am pretty sure I have seen the map channel on every one of my 25+ Carnival cruises. A time or two it wasn't working very well, but it was there.
  3. LaGuardia, I believe. You can use Google Maps to verify.
  4. Any decent travel insurance policy has a pretty high limit for medical evacuation. It's designed to cover emergencies like this. I pay $250/year for a medical-only policy for my husband and me, and the medical transportation coverage is $250,000. As always, check your policy for your specific coverage.
  5. Exactly. I have had the Beef Wellington several times on Carnival Cruises since the new menu came out (not on MG, however), and it is one of my favorite entrees in the MDR.
  6. It's worth trying some of the larger online travel agencies (especially the ones that specialize in cruises) to see if they have any cabins. If I am not mistaken, they take blocks of cabins that Carnival can't sell you.
  7. Was general disembarkation starting at 6:30 as well?
  8. In general, port day breakfast times on Carnival change based on what time the ship gets into port. In other words, if there is an early debarkation time at the port, breakfast opens earlier. I don't know if this affects Venezia's current itineraries.
  9. I was on the Venezia a few weeks ago, and I can assure you the lack of a whale tail did not affect my enjoyment of the cruise one bit.
  10. Or show up after they have boarded...
  11. I found it through a general travel insurance agency website, but it's GeoBlue. I am sure you can find it by Googling.
  12. Port days. Or early morning.
  13. I have a separate annual travel health policy. It's $250 for both my husband and me.
  14. I think it's new. We saw it on a Conquest journeys cruise last winter. It was the last cruise we took before we reached Diamond level. 😒
  15. I inferred from your post that you were saying that it was okay to leave a scooter in the hall because other people have done it. If I was mistaken, I apologize. I still believe that scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers should be reported to security. If that was done consistently, the problem would probably go away.
  16. Check out this thread: It's going to be just as accurate as the answers specifically to VIsta.
  17. So, because a certain rule isn't enforced 100% of the time on 100% of the ships, it's okay to ignore? The OP was looking for guidance on getting a scooter with her interior cabin. I would never advise anyone to simply disregard a written policy, especially when the safety of other passengers is involved. And I would certainly not be shy about reporting scooters left in the hallway for an extended amount of time to ship security. The first time I saw it, I might give the person a little grace and assume that they had just popped into their cabin for a few minutes, but after that, maybe not.
  18. Yes, you can. Just don't linger in your cabin. Literally drop the bags and leave.
  19. The last time I had this, we were given a choice of either medium rare or medium well. This looks like the medium rare.
  20. Exactly. The OP is willing to destroy this steward's career with exactly zero evidence. SMH
  21. It's fine for that. 🙂 Otherwise, it's akin to the hairdryers attached to the wall in cheap motel rooms, except that it's in the drawer instead, and therefore, even more difficult to use.
  22. So what happens to your private shuttle if you can't get off the ship by 8? Will it wait for you?
  23. I paid $2 US for a token to use the bathroom at a tourist stop in Iceland. Pretty sure the bathrooms are still free on a Carnival ship.
  24. I love Carnival's pillows. I even ordered some off of their website for my house.
  25. Very interesting. I remember my first trip once a Vista class ship, that was a small breakfast buffet, and I didn't discover it until close to the end of the cruise. Can't wait for the reviews!
