We 'pay' for a suite for a variety of reasons, one of which is dining...it doesn't have to be a private Luminae dining room, but nice that it is smaller and service is expected to be better. In our case, however, we don't find the 'food upscale', but less than we expect...in fact, the MDR menu is preferred on some occasions. One poster quoted a server as saying "Luminae is all about presentation" to which we agree. If there are cutbacks to the MDR and other dining venue menus, it also shows on the L menu...only a few options, not necessarily of the quality enjoyed in 'upscale' restaurants, does not make fine dining.

We have NEVER dined in the OV for dinner in all our years cruising and now I think we've missed something we would have enjoyed and perhaps it's probably too late. My friends tell me the O cafe experience is quite nice....and has a complete menu. More and more I hear on this site, those who are strongly considering O over X. Who knew x's and o's would become more than a game. but a lifestyle...LOL.

I agree...but if you want to sail a luxury line be prepared for X cruise prices to increase even more than they have in the recent past. I compare pricing often between O and X. The consensus on O seems to be their 'food quality' is above X offerings. They also charge more to keep that reputation. In another vein, I booked excursions pre Christmas...one in particular has increased by $50. That's quite a hike so I'm thinking X is taking a bigger slice of the excursion fees also. Have to keep an eye on all of these 'changes' and 'charges' in the coming months.

probably more of a 'could' it stop than a 'would it stop'.

My OBC was refunded directly to my account which showed up online immediately after cancelling. Still waiting for the cash portion to be refunded 6 weeks later.

I'll make a guess....maybe take away any item (filet mignon, lamb, lobster) from the MDR menu that is on the Specialty restaurants menu? Our last visit to Tuscan AND Murano we were not impressed and to compare, we have chosen both every cruise as far back as it's been available. (3 year cruise absence during covid escalation). Cost for Nov. 2023 is $176.96 Cdn; add to that the amount we're already paying for dining in our cruise cost. Not sure how long this pricing will be acceptable and may affect reservations?

I wonder why the poster can't share the 'past posts' which have actually happened. Re the new 'drop', I think they said it was a 'thought' so maybe not something that can or will happen? 🤔

I've been waiting 6 wks for a FCC and also a deposit refund. Haven't contacted X yet...considering the Christmas break as a possible factor.

There are 3 salad options and 3 pasta options. Not a station but an option. The note did say 'subject to change'. Pollo alla Cacciatore, Beef lasagna, Eggplant Parmigiano.

So if not in the Retreat, we collectively do the 'crawl'....if enjoying the 'AI', we can do the backstroke.

IMO...shorts belong outside the dining room....and if worn inside, they infer a Carnival dining experience. Why are so many quoting the 'luxury X logo' and feel they're being let down when their offerings that perhaps edge on luxury are being cut back, then they want to go shorts and flipflops in the dining room? I don't know what this thread is about anymore.

How do you suggest they reorganize? ...would like some suggestions how they could reduce their $19-20 billion bank loans and still provide a 'luxury' experience without cut backs or increasing prices - both of which seem to be the topic here and are in direct conflict with each other.

Oh my....hot tubs...pools...your avatar sign on...😕😉. My thoughts exactly when I see so many 'soaking' in the hot tubs....what are they soaking in?? I avoid them like the plague...oops...bad choice of words.

Since it's only the 6th, maybe wait until some of these sailors have returned...no doubt we'll hear about it then....😉.
