If you re-read the comment, it wasn't the 'lack of bread' but the defensive response "you forgot to order it"? Some can't pass on the opportunity to inject their particular attempt at humour which may come off as rude. I'm surprised the comment wasn't "let them eat cake".

I think you mentioned you've embarked at terminal #18? Do you know if there's a suite entrance or would we wait in the line for our allotted time? TIA.

Two weeks until my first celebrity cruise!
Oceangoer2 replied to FiremedicMike151's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Our one and only Carnival cruise was an eye opener. There was a wedding onboard and the groomsmen were 'over served'...to say the least. Behaviour from one area to another....fights, harrassment, and our 'attractive staff-dancer daughter' spending some off time with us, was grabbed and pulled into their aggressive circle telling her she didn't have to spend her time with the 'older' people and come and have fun. SHE never worked for them again after that contract. ALL the groomsmen spent most of their vaca in the brig. Yes, the ships have a brig. -
You just gave an example which was harmless and not necessary to comment on. ...but most likely poster was joking. BTW...we enjoyed an SS1 in 2019....didn't use the butler once as we're happy to fend for ourselves and considered he was busy with other suites...BUT....there's no doubt they like to attend to their guests and I'm reading they are a little disappointed when not asked to assist. We're back in an SS this November and would like to oblige. I bring a tablecloth each cruise for breakfast set up (flamers can comment here....😉). Any suggestions for some things the butler might help us with?

I hadn't noticed and had checked often. Did go up though!

Port Everglades terminal for non E class ships
Oceangoer2 replied to go.without.you's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I can't remember sailing out of terminal 18....is there a big difference between ports other than the Edge embarkation? Edit 1: Just googled and saw the pics....a BIG difference. #18 doesn't look very hospitable. Edit 2: Did a search on this CC site and found much better pics. Seems #18 was designed for RCL large ships. Looks much friendlier with people in the pics...LOL. -

How do you find your sailing terminal? We're on Equinox in 3 weeks...most likely 29? -
We're scheduled for the latest booster tomorrow....3 weeks from sailing. We haven't had the virus although several in our golf club circle have and we've been in close company with them at 'functions', finding out later they and MANY others came out of them with covid. We also have had colds but never had the flu in our lifetime, so wonder about our natural immunity. In any case will NOT think we won't contract it on board as circumstance might catch up to us...😒. Now I'm thinking of masks, etc and a 'plan B' as you suggested JIC. Thanks for sharing...helps me in decision making.

You were looking forward to this cruise and I'm so sorry you contracted the virus to spoil your vacation. Did your DW ever come down with it after returning home? We're boarding in a few weeks and wondered how the ship would handle those who became ill with Covid. Seems you both were treated well by Equinox staff...🙂

Thanks all for info on MPC. app....I didn't know it existed. Input was easy and SHOULD help getting through Customs line at Pearson. In comments on the app page, one poster mentioned there was no clear signage directing which line to use. Does it work like the Nexus line? I've read the Nexus machines are usually out of order (and were even when we last travelled through YYZ 3 years ago - no change - LOL).

are there any on the Buffalo border?
-
Just renewed Dh Nexus and mine will be next month. If they rescind the program, wonder if there will be a refund?? LOL....it's govt....who knows.

how bizarre a reply! Guess ageism is alive and well among a certain population. Look around at what X is advertising....young and dressed for the evening., mixed in with a few gen-grayers...LOL. Maybe trying to put some class back in the line...the younger generation LOVE dressing up and looking good. Maybe SOME of the middle generation have a problem with it.

This comment I do not believe! So maybe the rest of your observations/opinions are suspect?

It's been going on for days...clearing the cache or the 'Celebrity' cookie works but I simply switched from Firefox to Chrome and it works right away and loads everything as it should.

IMO...I don't really think it's the shorts/tee that is objectionable to some, but I'm visualizing a short, tight, multi coloured, way above the knees, pair of shorts and an also tight, short, multi coloured muscle shirt with exposed hairy chest and underarms dining next to our already too close MDR table. This convo has gone off the rails that we're looking down on the shorts/jeans/tee crowd. Clean and neat and appropriate for the fit on the body works for me. Other than that my haha moment would be the green tux so of that I'm guilty. 😉 For me, I'll continue with a nice cocktail dress or pants and beaded top and DH in casual slacks, dress shirt and jacket will look really good across the table...won't notice anything beyond our few square ft...unless...the hairy chest appears next to us...at that we'll move tables...not a problem.

Try a different browser...I get in right away with Chrome.

"Or maybe some people have too much free time on their hands." Or 'someone' is having an awful lot of fun with this thread...?
