  1. It's really nothing new, Been Cruising on Royal over 35yrs and been some decline every Decade. Do I miss the Food from 30-35 yrs ago, Yes, but dont miss cost of Cruising back then as even with high Rates coming out on Royal 2025-26 it's still cheaper to Cruise now then was in 80's. Done 100+ nites in 2022-2023, on 3 Ships and can still find Good Hot Food to eat. I never went hungry. But Portion sizes have good down and Desserts defiantly not as Good as were 8-10yrs ago. All my opinion. Interesting is on 3 Ships some the same Dishes from same Menus were prepared totally Different. On Jewel one might be little spice to it, on Radiance it was a little Bland and third Serenade it had different ingredients added. You'd think Fleet wide would be consistent, like a National Rest Chain eat Burger in California, Michigan and Florida they'd all be prepared same way and taste exactly the same.
  2. Shoot about half my Cruises Wind Jammer now closes at 8:30pm. Years ago walk into WJ after Late Show and get our second Dessert. Then for while could go into Solarium and get some Pizza, a Burger and Fries with these available until 4am. Then of Course the every nite Midnite Buffet. There was tons of wasted Food and Cruises were more expensive 30-35yrs ago, even with recent price increases still cheaper now
  3. Yup, got to act quick. Once got 2Bd/2Ba Suite for less then Balcony, had it all to myself for 13nites. These Repo Sailings typically were $3200-$3600 for Balcony Cabin with me SOLO back then and Deposits were Refundable. Paid $2200 for this Suite and canceled the other Booking. Kept waiting for notification they wanted more $$$$, as this wasnt long after that other major Royal Snafu.
  4. Yup, never wait to pay off Cruise on Due Date. Poo Poo happens, read enough stories on CC last 27yrs
  5. Yeah thats what I remember, a Few Kid/Parents yrs ago. Seems to be a larger event now on Ships
  6. Yup, couple Crew that do online were talking about doing this and having Island to themselves. Good for them!
  7. If only took that. I remember one year during annual release new Cruises Royal accidentally under priced Suites on a few Ships. Was such great deal some on Cruise Critic even paid in Full right away thinking Royal would allow their mistakes. Days later Royal gave everyone a choice, pay new higher prices what they really wanted for these Cabins or they would cancel the Bookings.
  8. Same. Travel constantly, hadn't had a physical "Home" in 16yrs staying Long Term Hotels, with Daughter/Grand Daughter or caring for Parents off/on last 10+ yrs very fortunate have understanding Doctors. Multiple times Ice Storms and CV keeping me away ZOOM visits 1-2 times a yr really helped last couple. Also had great local Pharmacists until 3yrs ago, Walgreens bought them out...
  9. Same, typically away from home 10-12wks is the norm, when Cruise usually 30-45nites at time. Always bring double my Meds them while away Sister PU my new so always stocked with extras. Once ran out after USP lost them in the mail, never again
  10. Agree. Interestig when someone posts price on here from Icon or even Oasis Class and I'm there next day on Radiance Class and mine is listed for 1/2 or 1/4 what they paying
  11. Too many repeat Cruisers, C&A too successful. Was a Diamond in 90's and had access to CL. Back then might have at most 6-10 Diamonds(top tier then)
  12. Saw them in Northern Michigan on a good year, out in middle nowhere Camping, no light pollution and a clear night
  13. Strong wind and raining hard sideways out of Boston my Corner/Aft Cabin Carpet got soaked from sliding Door to under my Bed. Also on Serenade. Royal was really giving 5yrs ago Pre-CV $$$$
  14. Thought I saw someone wearing upside down Pineapple Shirt. ...must be too BUSY to post
  15. Years ago Royal kept a fruit basket stocked and fresh in every Cabin. Can understand ending, lot of waste.
  16. Radiance is doing multiple Charters this yr, even messed up one of my B2B2B. Though on that date is not, just reg 6n Cruise
  17. For example a 70 is Office Noise, 80 is like inside airplane or a Vacuum, 85 is City Noise from inside a car or a Noisy Restaurant, 90 is a Hair Dryer, 95 a Food Processor or Car horn. Though it's long term that causes damage, some are more sensitive to higher Sounds/Db's
  18. Weird thing Bought 2 Evian CASES 9 months apart for my Oct Cruise. the Cheaper $22 USD CASE was only 1/2 ltr, bottles AND the $36 CASE was the 1 ltr
  19. Seen pop and water in luggage flagged and sent to naughty table, this at 3 ports. Too many keep trying this breaking of rules they will Ban all carry on Soda Pop and Water. I've been carrying on my Pop for 30yrs and dont want loose this benefit
  20. Didnt stop my Daughter or SIL in Oct. They ordered 2nd as ordered first at least 5-6 nites, no questions. Likely hit/miss Cruise to Cruise
  21. Was going to mention that. In 80's my first Cruise there was only 2 younger then me, even today doing longer Cruises I'm still on the younger side
  22. Was on a PreCV 12n Repo, we had 6 go ashore for Medical during Cruise not counting Family Members. Happens, been on Dozens Cruises where we Helo'd passengers off, speed up or turn around with Sick passengers. Longer the Cruise more likely happen and not to mention Family Emergencies.
  23. Glad to hear your OK. True, had the bags out on 3 of my Royal Cruises in last yr, Serenade, Radiance and Jewel.
