ONECRUISER replied to SummmerInKefalonia's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Though when I started on Royal wasn't a Family Cruise Line. Cruising then was Called the Newlywed and Nearly Dead. Was on the then Brand New Largest and First Mega Cruise Ship, Sovereign of the Seas(considered tiny now). This on a Summer 4th of July Cruise and there was only 2 younger(18yrs old) onboard then Me/Wife(23yrs old) -

Enjoy and only been doing Radiance Class last 20yrs, 4-8 Cruises per yr and at most typically 10-20 Kids a Sailing. Doubt Royal will ever Build Ships this size again, will enjoy them until they are gone -
Concierge Club vs Diamond Lounge vs Suite Lounge
ONECRUISER replied to thethreeofus's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I do. Diamonds were Top tier in 90's we'd meet with Senior Officers, Formal Suit/Tie required, for Private, Eat and Drinks. At most was about 8-10 of us(5 of them) on Popular/New Ships and Sailings. Had nice one on one Talks once with the Capt. another Cruise with Chief Eng and 3rd one with the Doctor. This before was D+ or P and think Emerald was also added later that I never was -

"Hard Cider(US) or Cider is widely available in the United Kingdom (particularly in the West Country and the Republic of Ireland. The UK has the world's highest per capita consumption, as well as the largest cider-producing companies. Ciders from the South West of England are generally higher in alcoholic content. In the U.S., varieties of fermented cider are called hard cider to distinguish alcoholic cider from non-alcoholic apple cider or "sweet cider", also made from apples. In Canada, cider cannot contain less than 2.5% or over 13% absolute alcohol by volume"

I have seen this happen on Royal, even talked about happening on here when sharing Packages and they were charged for each and every drink received by both parties. Sharing underage and caught, not sure what happens. Underage Drunk, been more then few Stories what happened. When caught Smoking in Cabin or on Balcony, they were charged the Cabin Cleaning Fee. Have seen that myself also, so does happen

Party of 2, but want to choose a specific cabin
ONECRUISER replied to TigerCruzin's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Back in mid to late 90's many times example Rates would be $799 ea for first 2, $1099-1499 each for passenger 3-4. Didn't take my kids on lot Cruises until prices started dropping and Kids were too little have 2 Cabins -
What time of the day does check in online open?
ONECRUISER replied to g8way2go's topic in Royal Caribbean International
True, couple my Cruises could fill all info but can't pick time until 30 days out. Then other Cruises it's just few hrs late or 1-2 days after 45 days. This all happened to me just in last 9 months. And yes we(Roll Calls) at time all tried App and on Website -
True, definitely make a difference on some islands
-
Which seems odd to me, many have your experience but I can't remember ever taking a Cruise where Clocks did not change. On 3 WC Cruises last Fall we changed them every time. Do the Boston/Florida Repo's and Panama Canal where Clocks were Changed 5-8 times a Sailing. Some it's just for that Stop, changed back the next night.
-
Happens at times. Had more then one do this, couple wasn't able until 1-2 days later, another even longer. Then one last yr could not pick Check in time until 30days out. Just keep checking...

Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins
ONECRUISER replied to Biker19's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Know you are kinda new here but this is how these Threads go. Talking about updates to Ships before New Released, what has been removed/replaced by then. I'm one the Original Members, been on Cruise Critic myself since 1997. Understand this is one the few online sites that has remained civil and there are Rules on here covering this. Please be nice -

Funny you should say that. Was riding to our Cruise in Ft Lauderdale with couple Families from one European Countries, Can't remember which one's. They were getting worked up, scared, thought something had happened. Thy couldn't understand why so many Security/Cop Cars with lites Flashing. The Armed Security at the Port including some Automatic Machine Guns. Can understand if new them them. Told Them this is a Monday at Port Everglades, like every day... First time I went to Mexico, and many times after would see them carrying M-16's, same Weapon I used at the time -
