  1. Local area are Shops….. Bars….. etc ……That’s about it But one could walk to Palm Court Gardens, along with hoards of crew (crew receive a sizeable discount) and heards. Then pay for sun beds, if any available, to regularly have the peace shattered by the let’s let off steam, be noisy and annoy brigades. Take a tour, see the sights of SK, but if this is not one’s interest, skip all the T’erd centrals and go to Marriott…….
  2. As a point of view of an now interested party. What is one paying for in Grills? - A drastically reduced standard menu? - A drastically reduced list of ingredients available for off Menu? Reduced Staff/Service Levels? Current Grill prices a above pre COVID levels, so it would appear Grills are paying even more for much less. This is not being fair and wrong on so many levels.
  3. In a word NO One has, plus many CC members also have, raised this question, but Cunard never issued a satisfactory explanation, only answering with waffle. Cunard, from their perspective, consider waffle as being totally acceptable, therefore matter closed.
  4. Contact Club Med about Les Boucaniers in Martinique, they used to offer a Day Pass, not sure now. We paid under €100.00 pp and had a great stay. Taxi took about 45 minutes there and 1 hour back with a price of €50 for the taxi each way. On return, allow an extra 30 minutes to stock up on Rhum from duty free. 10 minutes to browse, if one doesn’t know what to purchase, then 20 minutes to queue to pay. Good luck…
  5. My bad… VC it should be… But now LP … is it Rose?
  6. Aaahhh - Widower! - Sipped slowly, doesn’t get much better
  7. “Where I’d like to be” is the identical thought to hundreds of others….. Supply/demand prices rule in Rome. But, the upper end, price wise, are truly fabulous. One thing that’s free, wonderful and memorable is a slow Passeggiata. Take time to look up, side and back. Not forgetting an outside Gelato. Enjoy
  8. It was pre COVID (open to general public) Take a taxi (about $30/35 per cab each way) to Reggie Beach Pier to catch sea shuttle to Nevis (think it was $20/25 ppp each way) to Charleston port. There was no actual timetable with plenty of transfers. Ample taxis at Nevis port for tours etc. if time, head to Sunshine’s for a couple of killer bees. You have been warned! - Additional: There will also be plenty of shuttle minibus taxis to Reggie and return to ship (Not sure about the fare but work on $10/12 pp e//w)
  9. Try… https://www.bonifacio.co.uk/organisme/ligne-de-bus-de-corse-sud/ For specific requirements contact them direct
  10. Complete the official document today then closer to docking https://www.visitbarbados.org/covid-19-travel-guidelines-2022
  11. As Se1lad confirmed, one can book the same stateroom, with Cunard Fare, so no need to move and gaining 2 amounts of OBC. Sadly, by booking two voyages as a b2b, it appears one will receive two bottles of PA
  12. just a thought. Slightly off piste… Carolcab in above post mentioned “monasteries /convents”. Never heard of before, so looked. They are basic, clean, well placed with lists of available facilities. Could they be worth an investigation for your price point?. After all “Rome” is the star, not the accommodation.
  13. One’s thoughts. On next cruise will book 4, 5 or 6 cruises (possibly even more) onboard to receive OBC. Then, as allowed under the current Cunard policy, look to move each cruise en bloc, like for like without penalty or loss, when new brochure is launched.
  14. For peace of mind, contact Enterprise and Sixt in UK for booking etc., as both have brand offices on SM with drops offs close to cruise terminal.
  15. If one is seeking an excellent AI Day Pass, then contact Curtain Bluff direct for availability etc..
  16. A note to Santa? …….But only if you’ve been a good girl….😉
  17. Usually, the heavy double doors, midships lobby, deck 3 are opened to give easy entrance. This will give a view of the atrium, one then passes the greeting guard of honour and access to the central set of lifts. Unwritten code…. When waiting in an orderly queue for a lift, allow those guests with walking disabilities, carts and those with children to “go first”.
  18. To simplify one’s answers to a multiple directional question. The published evening dress code is an absolute minimum requirement. Therefore, whatever one considers as being above, but most importantly will enjoy wearing, would be perfectly acceptable. If one wishes to make a serious dress statement and kick butt, then do it…. It’s your cruise - Enjoy it As an aside. We have friends, when taking their first Cunard, the Wife had a dilemma regarding CL shoes. Such as “Do I or don’t I wear them and would they be considered ott?”. Just said go and kick ****, as probably nobody would notice, if they did then probably they were also wearing them. She did and loved it. Nobody acknowledged a notice. Even joined DW in a perfectly executed tandem bent arm Pan Am strut, just for the fun of it, entering the Commodore Club.
  19. Thank you for the correction, will change “new” to “returning”.
  20. Yes, BUT subject to availability I.e. sizes etc. Seem to remember the Tux was around $100 per day (Recent or current CC cruisers will confirm). Think some USA retail stores will offer a lower TUX price point.
  21. Welcomed, appreciated and admired…. Along with Kilts and other wonderful ethnic formal attires. Welcome to the maintaining of “old school standards” section of Cunard. PS. It’s great to hear from a new Cunarder with no interest in dumbing down the Cunard dress codes. Thank you for posting.
  22. Correct, but the posted stated “frowned upon”….
  23. Formal wear every night, including a Tux, is the unofficial norm for devotees on Crossings (except for first and last nights). For one’s part, as there has been a rapid dumbing down of Cunard’s dress code (gone too far in the wrong direction towards casual), one will be setting a self designed dress code for all one’s future cruises, regardless of what is published. Remember the Cunard “suggested” evening attire is not a strict imposition of the lowest possible standards. If one wishes to Tux and Formal every night then do it…. It’s one’s vacation…. Enjoy Regarding shoes, if you’ve both have formal footwear then wear them… silly to have the shoes and give then an outing. Wishing all a wonderful cruise
  24. One’s wow factor, how did they do that, is a very strong Irish accent in an excited full flow. No commas, no full stops, no paragraphs and no breaths taken. Incredible! 😊
  25. No need to worry, because Scottish people have the identical problem when talking to other Scottish people.😉😊
