  1. kids on board will enjoy playing around with it.. something less messy might ge better!
  2. depends on which 2 SVs.. our middle deck 7 EDGE.. could open part way but not probably how u think..
  3. Thanks More non BUTLER suites...hope Luminae and Retreat areas ( in and out side) are larger! . If we book, we'd stick with AQ Class or Coincierge OR maybe just enjoy older ships for awhile?
  4. But happy to hear the get together is coming back in some form.. not big on drinks but we'll go to meet other cruisers
  5. very inconvenient and causes delay..if one prefers menu elsewhere.why not go there for the nite? we do that on Prime Rib nights..BLU often does not offer it..
  6. Achille Lauro hijacking, hijacking of the Italian cruise ship the MS Achille Lauro on Oct. 7, 1985, by four Palestinian militants associated with a faction of the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF). you can google for more info..but Cruise Lines and their insurers are cautious!
  7. For US citizens, maybe even less safe. Pres of Turkey snubbed US secy of State this week..Sets a tone... Cruising is not about politics but is always about safety. ..Many other places to enjoy and spend money right now and be welcomed! Cruise lines will not take chances!
  8. we loved Shooters! good foid/ drink great views & water taxi ride!
  9. Wow. that's not good. And Turkey is in NATO...hope they can control this! . Our neighbors are from Instanbul but are staying home in NY for now! "Grandma" may come here instead! Glad we went there before the "big shift" ! Beautiful place but naybe just not for now! Safety first!
  10. truthfully, we enjoyed the Sunset Veranda in the am for great sunrises,. when entering and leaving ports , and for skygazing at night. We did not sit out much. It was often very sunny, plus the noisy party guys next door usually had a big group outside 24/7. IV area is more confined but quiet..
  11. we no longer tip extra at spa or specialty.. and maybe extra to the sommelier who gets a fee per drink/ btl.. 20% is the new norm on board so we will stick to that.. if you buy products at the spa they also add that as a svc chg.. For drink service we tip cash extra as we go. In BLU, we will tip $50 to the "team" via maitre d. We are not booking Suite class anymore, so we have no opinion or clue on what to do now that you do not have an assigned butler . We tipped our Butler when we had a SS but that was before the changes. it is thoughtful of you to try to figure this out ahead!
  12. It was that way with the "all included" fare package. That included grats, classic alcohol and basic wifi ( which many do not need or want) in the fare. Recently, pricing has changed and grats are no longer part of that. The grats are added per day depending on cabin type booked. Doubtful fares were reduced to compensate for the change so it increases the actual fare! Our current bookings are all under the all inc plan..so we do not have to deal with daily grat added to our on board acct .. I think folks can prepay(?) but the grats they are extra for new bookings.
  13. I do ok there with blood sugar/ carbs.. Usually .1/2 bagel, lox, tomato, and there is a nice variety of protein meats, cheeses. I think they used to have hard boiled egg..no more apparently? Pastries etc are not on my plan!
  14. very nice itin....we have never been to Tobago..sounds very beautiful! Bon Voyage!
  15. did OP decide? these cabins book up quickly!
  16. walk off has become a nightmare unless in suites.. the walk off guests line up very early.. line snakes around and around..poorly organized. . tempers short! people take more luggage than they can handle ( dangerous) we stopped doing it and take our chances that our luggage won't get lost!
  17. There used to be.. but not at the cavernous E Class terminal, only suites have a sep area there. In several ports and Pt Ev Terminals, they used to sep seat E and E+, AQ Class, Concierge and follow a precise pecking order for boarding.. wheelchairs first! Same with Royal C.. Things have changed!
  18. we also had a middle SV on EDGE. We enjoyed it..very large balc...great aft views. No soot issues but noisy party neighbors. Inside, few nights we heard music in the hallway to bathrm.( Eden?) .nothing terrible. I,d pick deck 7
  19. No way! Guests pay premium fares for cruise bookings in Retreat with Luminae, and AQ Class with BLU. Much more than they would pay for an Inside cabin...with mdr dining. If cruisers want access to the other dining room, they should book the higher level cabins and pay for the privilege. Neither BLU nor Luminae are large enough to accomodate a higher dining load!
  20. trust us old timers..it was MUCH better as was the gen approach to dining!
  21. BON VOYAGE! Happy Anniv! Wishing you a wonderful cruise! we are booked on Silhouette in Concierge Class in 2024..look forward to your review.
  22. We like the IV. True it is not a balc and is a narrow cabin,. but it offers a nice extra seating space with indoor panorama view / an operable windiw Bathrooms are great size..nice shower. What is the number of pax for each ship? Celeb E class is a good size..lots to do but not overpacked! We would not he happy with anything larger than E Class..a long walk from here to there sometimes!
  23. not everyone has the app. would be nice to see a few samples anythying new for BLU ( Ascent)?
