  1. i remember a cruise on Summit years ago where all the loyal Cap Club members were 100% ignored by the CC hostess and others... in favor of any Royal C guests new to X. They were wined and dined at special events, focus groups etc and lavished with gifts, seated with officers and were given all sorts of attention. It was a very obvious marketng outreach. We oppose any "intertwining" and crossing over beyond the current programs. If we wanted to sail on a Royal clone these days we would....just not the same demographics or experience but soon to change no doubt!
  2. In our experience, decorating is more a Royal thing but now seen more often on X for Halloween X mas b days and anniv.. Magnets work and tape that will not mar or stain..should not be too cumbersome or impede safe use of hallways.. Pineapple remarks are off topic!
  3. ah thanks for that info..I have heard the term but never new of its scope and limits.
  4. For dinner? How sad is that..more bad news for a once elegant cruise line with nicely dressed clientele.. Hope the "wife beater" sleeveless undershirts will not be the next permitted attire .They were frequently seen in the Royal C buffet at lunch...Hairy pits not appetite enhancers
  5. what abt cancel any reason? we get coverage primarily for high Medical expenses (medicare does not pay out of US), return home if ill/ injured and repatriation of remains Policy has some trip interruption and lost luggage..but never looked if it covers passport or other thefts??? used ins twice for cancellation .my gall bladder emergency, 2 days before a cruise..and when dtr under our care needed surgery for a serious diagnosis .. Ins covered most but not all! Better than no ins at all!
  6. enjoy the buffet! luckily, still not many of those guys on X!
  7. Report it and If it does not improve overnight, I'd move if I could..
  8. yes..seems they will be extra items. the space where they prepare the food, take and hand out orders is very tight.. staffing sometimes sporadic and even for salads slow. Hope it wont become the newly discovered hot spot!
  9. How sad! but we never experienced that type of activity by X staff..
  10. would they have any recourse against the hotel..not a very secure situation, apparently!
  11. After reading the Virgin CL thread..sounds more like that is the " new Carnival"..but a bit more upscale...
  12. This may be a dup or partial forgotten post.It popped up whrn I went to post something else.??? ". we were on X in ARUBA with a Carnival ship nearby. After lunch we walked to the store area. We could not believe the loud, pushy, wild behavior in the stores and and on the street and sidewalks as the passengers from that ship travelled along in packs. We went back to the ship early, only to be disrupted by loud, pulsating, party music with an obnoxious DJ...blaring from their top deck......."
  13. p.s. Do not Miss the CLUB..for just a drink, music and sometimes an amazing show!
  14. we love the E Class Ships..looking forward to sailing in the Ascent. There are two areas outside of EDEN on either side that are nice outdoor spaces..one has a small smoking area. Magic Carpet outsude is nice in the a.m. I had a Bellini. We also liked World Class Bar .you can see and hear Martini Bar action ..but it is quieter..great drinks and service. EDEN has a nice atmoshphere, bar and lunch cafe (which may now have some upcharge items). Spa cafe is good for bkfst and lunch..healthy food oriented! We were very unhappy on OASIS.. it felt too mall like, low end shopping, family/ kids oriented , crowded and loud almost everywhere. We had poor dining exeriences even in Specialty Restaurants, and people were sleeping and snoring in the small library/ lounge...Had to get advance tickets and still had to line up for most events! The park area was over rated but the bar that went up and down was fun for the ride. We did like the adult only area out back and nearby hot tubs, the D a.m.coffee area and the nightly cocktail soread in a bar/ lounge. By contrast, X has a weak loyalty cocktail program but a nice sit down breakfast that was in Tuscan. Music was about equal but Oasus had an island band.not so much on X.. the E Class theaters are state of the art awesome. great shows..very creative. E Class had an excellent curated art collection...many healthy living plants. Hope you enjoy it all!
  15. I would like them to keep EDEN as is now in the performance / activity area , get auto sun shades, possibly enlarge the bar. Turn the Eden cafe into more of a coffee, tea and smoothie bar with cookies and cakes.. more.like Cafe Baccio. Use counter seating like in the buffet. Cooking classes in EDEN restaurant downstairs would be fun and enriching! Add a small jazz club with good live music and a mellow vibe in place of some .under performing hi end shops. Use upscale sophisticated decor, serve specialty drinks like the World Class Bar which is now overlooking the Martini Bar. (. too small and noise carries up). small indoor movie theater with popcorn and candy machines dbl.use as. comedy club , small lectures .. Create a nice space for card, mah jong and other game players( near food and drink) so they do not HOG other areas ( all day) like AQ spa cafe tables, EDEN cafe tables Cafe Baccio and tables in the Buffet!
  16. thanks for pointing out there is already an option to pay for "reserved" pool seating ..which comes with shade, drinks and maybe lunch. We are going to look into that on APEX. We will book it for a day or two depending on where this area faces and whether it has a busy public walk through like on EDGE.
  17. enjoyed the photos and commentary tour on Kotor and port looked excellent, BLU dinner menu also very good other than deck parties we never wandered around at night..we will def do that on ASCENT..thanks for the idea
  18. perfect selections for me and just enough beef for my husband.. Hope BLU on ASCENT has similar choices!
  19. go back to the M Roux menus in MDR..Formal table service. A feast every night!
  20. Aloha. With that I whole heartedly agree.. The pool staff is afraid of complaints...but security should do the job not pool staff. At our place in Fl they replaced the monitors with security staff....much better results to discourage trespass, vandalism and dangerous behavior!
