  1. Exception might be at World Class Bar..they usually stick to their signature drinks.
  2. Dru Pavlov was one of our early X favorites.. Classy and lots of fun..We think he moved into Royal mgmnt but lost track. His wife was great in future sales dept.
  3. We used to do 14 or 15 day itins to Carib.plus a few to Europe of mostly 12 day trips ..it varied over the yrs Yrs ago..we did a 15 day RT trip to Hawaii from San Pedro.. 5 sea days each way! Was great! Sweet spot now would be 8 to 12 days.
  4. We book and pre pay our Specialty Dining, Excursions and Spa appts ahead of time on the "cruise planner".( we do not use the app) . Book ahead for best times and slight discounts! X does run "sales" on all of the above and the drink packages fairly often..
  5. would pass on Le Petit Chef and add RAW ON 5 as a MUST Do!
  6. Thanks Interested in overall condition ..furniture, soft goods, decor.. Any crowds in sea days, restaurants, etc.. Also music, shows and lectures
  7. very nice review.. where did you get the Van to Horshoe Bay, and then coming back to the ship. How long did you stay there? ..looks great. Been to Bermuda quite a bit but never to that beach. Ship looks good..we are booked on her in 2026 , but not Bermuda
  8. you might be happier at Raw on 5.. a la carte.. lots of non meat choices....not just sushi.. we enjoy the variety.. and nice cocktails too
  9. Def not as dressed up as Cunard.. When we sailed with them, they provided a guide for each night/ event. Strictly observed. Most X guests have a nice interp of chic nite dress vs smart casual... My husb likes his silk Tommy Bahama shirts or gubaveas(sp?) for dress up night..vs a collared knit for casual.. We cruise Carib itins but similar choices ok for Asia.. be dressed but comfy! ..Some who prefer more casual do the minimum to get by.. others go all out and still dress quite elegant! there may be a Shine Night (sparkly) or White Night deck party in the Carib ports ..no idea abt other itins
  10. Very entertaining and informative review so far.. anice pics despite the rain...We travel with plastic ponchos..just in case! Hope u will focus a bit on the ship..one of the few X ship's we never tried!
  11. Thanks for a great live thread..Fun pics and great writing style. Hope you'll be ready for school in a few weeks! Your students are lucky to have you as their teacher!
  12. Wow..We have done them on all E Class ships ( Apex next)..well worth the prices and the Art Books are great! Hope you enjoyed it!
  13. very nice view but how was coming back down?
  14. One of the best CDs of all time...a great talent and treasure trove of info..knew everyone in show biz!
  15. Too dangerous to walk..no real walkways . Grab a cab with carry ons.. and your luggage ( guarantees it will get there)
  16. like reform school!
  17. we were pretty much ignored in Luminae as well, but we only ate a few meals there..not to our liking!
  18. So adults of drinking age in most places. Does not seem like the place for kids....
  19. Do they have a "party band"? What do they play, where and when? I believe, live music runs in cycles..not the same for all ships.
  20. We had no issue getting seated at a table with 2 chairs in Luminae on Beyond. There are different configurations throughout the venue. Just let maitre d know when you check in. No need to make a pre cruise special request!
  21. We ate at EDEN in Ascent. We did not do the tasting menu...dh had a glass of wine..We both ordered a meat combo as our entree. Husb had the baked clams appetizer..I tasted it but thought too salty .I had a beautiful salad app... it was excellent We were too full for dessert but enjoyed the tiered cookies It was a lovely dinner..great food, cooked to order with ample portions and top service, but not pretentious. We had a nice table with aft sea views and could also see the open kitchen. Not sure we would say it was " an experience"..but was enjoyable. We are booked again for APEX.. OP.. check the menu before signing up..see if you find non meat itens you would enjoy.
  22. we check dinner menus at the podium at Breakfast If you want the Prime Rib..may have to go to MDR for that...Figure it all out once u board We just guess abt chic nights when planning our Spec Dining Res ahead of time.
  23. Not as bad as I thought from orig thread title and posts! Actually , sounds like a bit of fun for guests and musicians from the way you describe it! I know some guests bring their guitars with them and enjoy jamming at times w band members
  24. basically a guest talent show..hope not in lieu of theater shows and live prof music elsewhere.. We enjoyed small groups, solos & jazz combos in Ensemble lounge and Acoustic & solos etc in Cafe Baccio.. but prof performers not guests.. Nice Memory....a long time ago on X, .( forgot ship or restaurant name)... we attended a Specilty Dining luncheon..There was a baby grand in the room..in perfect tune. A fellow guest played a beautiful classical set to the delight of all including staff! Really elevated the experience.
