  1. OP HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! It's who you are with not where you are that counts. Once all is well...Celebrate in Style!
  2. In our IV cabin on EDGE, we turned the chairs and table inward..made an extended seatIng area as the cabin itself is small. We never closed the bi fold doors ..too confining. The huge amount of Hoppen pillows will yield many options for footstools! It was not terrible. .Area was a cute " wintergarden" but a one and done for us. We only opened the window to take pics and look out for a few minutes while standing. One plus was that it was quieter than being next to a real balc cabin. One neg was bathing suits have to drip in the shower stall...cabin has a real floor in the IV area, . Much preferred the Sunset Veranda...larger cabin and a huge outside balcony!.
  3. Wow..I love this one. It draws the eye in....water so blue! Food ? ..i never heard of ground chicken kabobs?????
  4. We like c.o. Bigelow products..use them in our Fl home. Very refreshing. But Agree about the larger pump dispensers. Prefer something not used by others..
  5. Ugh.. we call that tuna " Charlie!" Really a big cutback..we will pass in any of that!
  6. We walk too as much as possible, and try the gym a few times. Often have the Elite breakfast..fruit and protein.. but my downfall is lox and bagels ( too many carbs) Lunch for me is a big salad w vinegar/ oil, no bread. Then I can splurge at dinner..so far none of the portiions shown seem very huge! 1 Asparagus stalk does not cut it esp is fresh and crunchy!
  7. Agree with many of the comments...but wish they would return when posible..with the CD, officers, introductions, gift exchanges and kick off point for cabin crawls. It made the roll calls stronger and did lead to connectiins being made, One part we disliked was when individuals who organized pvt excursions, used the event to collect funds etc More business like, less of a casual get together.
  8. So sorry OP is sick and isolating. Hope you have a nice anniv anyhow. And can enjoy a nice dinner. Try to make the best of it..Hope u will be feeling better by end of cruise and do not have to delay flights or travel home. Did they offer a cruise credit or price adjustment or upgraded internet? We just got over Covid. I think I caught it on a flight ( or in airport) coming to NY from Fla, Felt sick a few days after, then dh felt sick. Both tested pos. We isolated for 10 days..all ok now. We felt tired, slight headache, loss of appetite..but not as bad as the first time we had it before the vax. No drugs were given...and hope no more Covid for awhile..We cruise next month.. w
  9. Thanks for all the details..feeling a bit better abt Luminae. Although the .presentation seems "no frills". Desserts looked great but I am type 2 so I usually limit myself,..1 bread, 1/2 of dinner carb ( potato or rice, etc) and double veggies. Sometimes just a dinner salad and soup usually excellent on X.. We always bring our own assortment of snack crackers....too many yrs of stale saltines!
  10. Enjoying the review and pics.. Thanks. So far the Luminae plates do NOT look amazing ( fish looked nice) . How is the taste and flavor? How were the veggies cooked, were the potatoes pre made ? Did you enjoy the salad? Any special breads? We will be assigned in Luminae on BEYOND and hope it will be okay for us food wise and .not too crowded. We are used to the BLU menu and loved the 4 mdr plan on EDGE . If you are Elite, that is another option for a light bkfst.. E N J O Y !
  11. Different strokes for diff folks..We avoid the loud drinking spaces!
  12. In our opinion, Celebrity does not have the same clientele as it did when we first started cruising.. Changes came rapidly after the intro of drink packages. Many came from other cruise lines solely for the inclusive drinking. Also brought down the dress standards and general ambiance. "Royalization" had an effect. Still enjoy X over any others, but it has def changed with the times as has culture in general.
  13. We have enjoyed quite a few white night parties..we always pack something white..just in case. Looks great when the colored light are on at the pool deck. Best one was in Greece..pax and staff all in white. Really fit the setting.
  14. Dh wears his nicest Tommy Bahama silk shirts for chic night....saves the island prints for caribbean nights etc,
  15. Enjoyable review..easy to follow and lovely photos at the end. On our last Infinity cruise the cabin environment was sub par... A/C cut out several times in the cabin at inconvenient times and in the hallway..poor air quality. Mildew in shower and on shower curtain...awful, clorox smell. Flooded ( sewer smell) cabins down the hall.. fans blowing all day. A Great ship which needs a full re-do..not just cosmetic makeover. Glad you were able to overcome the downsides!
  16. So encouraging that 9 11 is still being remembered!. Being from the NY area, we remember it everyday...friends, neighbors and innocent people from all over the world lost to the forces of evil! Never Forget!
  17. If technically possible, they may show the broadcast in the theatre. Many passengers will be interested in seeing the funeral service..would be nice to attend as a group. Time diff not a big issue,,people get up before that going through the P. Canal.
  18. PS line up early for tenders going back..lines can be long in the sun!
  19. Gr Cayman tendering is subject to variables including weather in general, sea conditions, type/size of tenders being used, and number of ships in port. It is a crowded port with lots of traffic. We have been on a few snorkel excursions with the cruise line ( but not the rays..they seemed crowded) . Advantage to ship's trip was getting off the ship in an early group ( if an a.m, trip), and getting to the snorkel site or transp to it in good order. One snokel site was very close to the tenders..lots of activity there. Another was way far away at a past its prime resort ( very rough water..better for divers than snorkelers). Check port boards for info and reviews. If you do it on your own, there are opportunitues near or at tge tender pier from what we recall. Port has nice but expensive shops...and a few nice lunch spots..check the side streets. Make sure about ship or port time adjustments, It is a loveky port if not too crowded. Have fun!
  20. On our last 2 cruises pre Covid pause on Edge, Concierge guests were getting alot of love! They boarded ahead of AQ so they could get to the luncheon on time, were invited to special gatherings, including sailaways, etc, and had actual Concierge services. AQ cost more but only perks we had were BLU, thermal suite access, and exercise mats in the stateroom..On one of the cruises they gave all AQ cabins the last departure groups ( no priority) ..which we all changed at Guest Rel.. They should beef up the AQ perks, esp b/c BLU not as Special anymore..too many guests! Maybe a free class or spa discount..
  21. Hopefully, that is in writing somewhere. If not, she may not get into the Retreat and you will have to pay extra for her to dine with you in Luminae.. Big issue so hopefully it is on the res... did you book with a trvl agent or a Celeb Rep?
  22. Usually a great deck party on board..costumes range from elaborate to simple tees and masks. Had a great one in Aruba..forgot the ship.. decorated doors, fruit carvings etc.. lots of fun! Enjoy..
  23. As always..great photos of QUEBEC. Thank you.... Bringing back Great memories of when we cruised there on Connie and stayed overnight. Had amazing afternoon tea at hotel Frontenac with a group from Cruise Critic.... Beautiful clean city and lovely countryside. Loved the falls...but was very crowded there. We were there as they leaves were changing.
  24. Thanks...Have a great cruise, Our fav lunch places on EDGE were the Cafe Bistro( ?) .,upcharge well worth it and Eden cafe ( no upcharge) Our Beyond cruise is a short one, but we will try to get into Raw on 5 for lunch...or dinner.
  25. In contrast Just read a nice article ( AARP) about Kelly Ripa..turning 50/51. She looks great, sexy, no tell-tale wrinkles, well dressed, seems secure in herself, and her life ; and is a lady... does not seem to need candles or eggs or goop! Would make a nice ship's godmother or a fun Celebrity to cruise with!
