  1. Glad this thread was posted Not happy to hear covid is affecting BEYOND just like other ships. We are scheduled for a 5 day cruise in Nov, RT Port Ev, and would hate to spend it in quarantine...we are booked in a low level suite. Point of the cruise is to use up a large fcc from a previously cancelled sailing. If quarantined, wonder if that would be restored? We are just starting to look for trip insurance. Hope folks quarantined feel better soon !
  2. They originally had a nice brunch menu...not anymore, I gather? Even for brunch..very warm, sunny.
  3. You have to press the spa to apply this..discuss before treatment and get price in writing! They try to weasel out of it and also the port pricing deals.., esp Canyon Ranch We also had unpleasantness on one cruise with the E + dining discount on Infinity on a Pacific Coastal cruise We informed maitre d as we entered..he pretty much called me a liar and I had to go back to the cabin for the E+ perks paper. Still he did not believe and spent our entire dinner calling around to verify and confirm. Made for a very unpleadant dinner. Eventually guest rel straightened it out a day or two larer with an apology but by then we cancelled ALL if our speciaty dining res for that cruise.. it was bizarre! No issues with gelato, specialty coffee, internet or laundry.
  4. we made pre res for the 4 mdr dining plan on EDGE for each night at duif restaurants...a tedious process but dh did it. We dine early and always had a great pvt table..usually by a window.. (great sunsets) in the smaller venues or were tucked into a corner in the larger restaurants. No issues... On the first night, which is a bit disorganized, we were seated at a table for two that was in a long line with other diners..We did not like it and avoided that arrangmenent,,,you can ask for what you prefer. In BLU tables are close together.. but you can be pvt or as sociable as u choose
  5. Those days are long gone!
  6. Learning alot on this thread.. living on LI NY means chronic sinus issues, without cough, Using a nasal saline spray helps alot with breathing, along with humidifiers. Keeping a pitcher of water and open ice bucket in the stateroom also adds a bit of humidity..reduces cruise cough. Hope those now isolating on board are soon cleared to go out.
  7. We also move away from coughers and sneezers....,We have no way to tell if they are spreading germs or have other issues..but act in our own protective interests. Even before Covid risks, we were taught that anyone should take care to cover coughs and sneezes as a matter of being polite. Especially in the buffet area. Air on ships indoors can be dry and sometimes it sounds like a cough fest, Use of cough drops or sugar free candies can help...
  8. Hope some expanded access to free movies for your little one..
  9. We have always had served coffee at the Elite breakfast.. used to be held in Tuscan...We would go to Cafe Baccio or Segundo in the buffet for take away coffees. No idea what the plan is at the new location on the new ship.
  10. I'd stick with the samples and clear instructions A posted copy ( redacted or otherwise) is inviting mischief.
  11. Tight fit.. make sure you will all fit and have a bed
  12. Interesting location,.We stop in to the Elite coffee house during most cruises...if we are not assigned to BLU.. We ate lunch at tge Bistro a few times on EDGE..great selections, service and location. Will def try it on BEYOND
  13. Very nice.. We had a small group from our Connie Roll call who joined for elegant tea at the Frontenac in Quebec. It was a lovely experience!
  14. Blu on EQ....outstanding all around!
  15. BLU issues for us on EDGE were the location....on the path to EDEN via the dark creepy forest, or up a steep winding stairway. Also missing were any nice views (it faces storage and am window washing equipment,) , and poor acoustics. Long lines at times. Outdoor tbls were counted for capacity but really not used so crowded at times. Waitstaff and sommelier gave great service, but meals were VERY slow between courses. Just not the same as BLU on many other ships. Breakfast was okay..no views or realistic outdoor dining! Another neg was the small " infinite" indoor balcony cabin set up.. as part of AQ class. It was manageable but not a real balcony by any means! On a subsequent EDGE cruise we loved our non AQ sunset view true aft balcony, larger cabin and the 4 mdr dining plan.. Favs were tuscan and the Greek restaurant but all were A +
  16. We were happy for this change Hoping to use up our fcc on our Nov cruise but this is a good safety back up! Looking forward to using it up but you never know!
  17. We are usual AQ class BLU diners, but on E Class , we TOTALLY preferred the 4 MDR plan..Make your res pre cruise. It was a great experience.! . You can enjoy BLU if you sail M or S Class ships in the future.
  18. Son in law put his camera down on Royal C at a game event... It was gone in an instant along with many photos never uploaded..lesson learned! Never recovered. Worst part was that security came to search their stateroom, implying they were lying...very insulting esp to people who have a "real badge". Leaves a bad taste.. We NEVER leave anything we do not have eyes on or cannot afford to lose. A spa locker can be helpful.,
  19. Not at all the same as the teas on Cunard...but still a nice event!
  20. We will pass on the spa..though i love it.. and also using the gym Walking outdoors in fresh air seems like a good plan!
  21. For us.. the pre reserved limo works best. Just us and our luggage... smooth ride to pre cruise hotel..then a local taxi to ship. Less stress even if it costs more. We do not do uber...After one cruise, can't recall which one, I had to help fellow cruisers, and interpret for an uber driver who was clueless and lost....and command of Eng zero.. Whatever works....just be patient...
  22. Suggest u check the port boards for up to date info
  23. I believe she met us inside the terminal after we had our luggage.. it has been awile so memory fades....I doubt I can find the name of the company..but if I do I will post it. LAX is a huge airport...but we managed,
  24. We use a limo service to /from LAX to San Pedro hotel/ port.. Worked well..very nice AC limo..professional driver.had same driver both ways! Have also used into Long Beach ( ?) .smaller airport,, taxi was nit that great,
  25. We make iced coffee in the buffet too . Just need ice, coffee and a big container!
